Android Thread V4 - Got money? Samsung Galaxy S II. No money? ZTE Blade.

Just spent a few hours at the mall with my new Nexus S and it's really fun to finally have a phone I can whip out and read the news and talk to friends on Skype with. Really happy my family and I finally jumped to smart phones!

Typical Android fan claiming that apple is a bunch of thieves who claim they made all these ideas. Apple even said in that keynote that it was an idea they borrowed from Android.
Some of you guys need to get past your childish apple hatred and need to stop acting like Android is the most amazing thing ever, iOS WP7 and Android all have good things and bad things. If you want to get into a debate about what mobile OS pushed forward smartphones I'll point out that every smartphone OS copies webOS in many ways.
Normally I'd be fine with that, but if Android decides to borrow an idea from iOS, they're gonna get hit with a lawsuit. Technically it's not borrowing if Apple's not going to give something back.
Got my Asus Transformer today, and it's AWESOME!
But, I can't seem to find a facebook app for it. Are there no android tablet facebook apps?

iOS and Android are both great- Android is just cheaper, and has more model variety.
Android isn't cheaper.
Android isn't cheaper.
How so?
It's an open-source operating system, claiming a price on it is stupid.
The phones that run Android end up cheaper though.

Woop, we have a Googlydoodly section.
New market is seriously the best thing to happen to the market, ever.
Finaly, our own section!

I'm loving the new market, its brilliant!
New market is seriously the best thing to happen to the market, ever.
But the market should have the features the web one has, like trending apps.

And guys, new market app leaked. Use at your own risk.

Poor RIM -- everybody wants a piece of the BlackBerry pie, as the company attempts to maintain its position as the face of business-minded smartphones in an era ruled by iPhones and Android devices. It's tough to avoid mentioning the company when looking at these shots unearthed by Italy's Android Worldblog of the forthcoming LG Optimus Pro, whose form factor ought to prove comfortably familiar to BlackBerry devotees. According to the site, the Gingerbread device has a 2.8 inch screen, a three megapixel camera, an 800MHz processor, and will run €179 ($249) in that country. Not much more info is available at present, but there's a video after the break, and the source link has a few more shots, if you need help imagining it in your hand at your next board meeting.

It seems my Galaxy 5 isn't compatible with my router, is there any known solution to this (Zoom X6 Router)? Right now I'm using a Connectify Hotspot, but would it be possible to either use my old iPod Touch to broadcast a hotspot, or known way to make my phone stay connected to my router as currently, it connects, drops out, refuses to re connect.
Finally configured my phone to use Google Voice for voicemail but not texting. Now I don't have to worry about not being able to send MMS and do group texts but I can still use text voicemails
Does anyone know of an app that will remind me every three hours to do something? Started eating 5 portions a day but my sleeping schedule changes daily so an alarm won't really work too well, but if I could start it to remind me every three hours then stop when I go to bed that would be useful.
Aw yeah. Just bought an Advent Vega, Dixons' website finally have them in stock. £200 10" Tegra2 tablet. Gonna stick honeycomb on it when it arrives.

I thought Google Books was the actual book store. Nice to know they're implementing it into the whole Market. Also, I like the new design of the market.

I'm gonna get a bit of money together over the course of the year and get one of these.
It looks like a brilliant tablet.

All the stores have them. Most futureshops and best buys have demo units. But if they sell one their job will be terminated.

Stock has been really low lately and rumour has it they are discontinuing it. It's not showing as discontinued on PCW's system yet but I spoke to someone at the Milton Keynes store that said they will not be getting more in. I would hurry if I were you.

"1.4 GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon"
So essentially the GPU is 4 times worse. Faster cpu, but huge sacrifices with the gpu.
[editline]13th July 2011[/editline]
I mean why buy it when the SGS II is on the same page and is only £60 more?

Oh shit, It's the only cheap ish Android tablet that doesn't look like an iPad rip off.
As great as all of the features on the new Android Market look, you can only view it in Apps view in the UK (as there are no other stores launched) and games is just a sub-tab.
How so?
To get a decent android phone which realistically competes with the iPhone in terms of speed and quality, you have to pay as much as you do for an iPhone.
There are plenty of cheap Android phones but most of them are shoddy.

An iPhone 4 costs more than the highest end Android phone...

Just to let you know, that post made me laugh hard.
Now I just hope for your sake it just was a REALLY BAD joke
Here in Finland, you're looking at 899€ for a 32GB iPhone 4 with no contract.
528€ with a 2-year contract or 22€ a month, but that doesn't include the cost of the contract.
