Also if you really want your phone to be almost identical to iOS, use that launcher with the MIUI ROM
I have a question regarding flashing a radio. When I flashed the latest stable Cyanogen rom (7.1) I've noticed that the battery drain is horrible and the phone keeps losing its connection. I've never flashed a radio before (so I'm still on an older radio than recommended) and I'm just wondering about what can go wrong and/or how important it is so chose the right radio for your phone?
It's critically important you go through all the correct motions. Never charge with a low battery, check MD5's hashes. Flashing a corrupted radio is the death of your phone, that's unrecoverable, and you got yourself a nice brick. [editline]25th October 2011[/editline]
Works now, turns out the problem was I didn't factory reset. Also, previously, I took Out my titanium backup folder, and placed it back after the factory reset. Now how do I restore it?
If Titanium Backup doesn't see it, just go to the settings and find it for it. (Third option down I believe).

They are really useful. [editline]26th October 2011[/editline]
Guys, any tips on how to raise MIUI's battery life?
Custom Kernels
Also reduce min clockrates and cap it to like 200MHz when the screen is off

Trust me, never use FedEx here.

tracking changed to thursday. much more plausible still yay
what, enable dropbox? Recently I've been thinking about getting a new mobile phone. For almost two years I've been using LG KP500 and I want to get something faster and with more features. In January I'll be given a lot of money and I'm willing to spend up to ~350$ on a phone with Android. So, is there anything worth getting in that price range?
Apple has been granted a patient for Slide to Unlock
It's standard Apple...
they can keep that, the way ICS is unlocking (dragging the circle etc) is MUCH cooler
they can keep that, the way ICS is unlocking (dragging the circle etc) is MUCH cooler
Yes but I think the patent also covers that, since
A device with a touch-sensitive display may be unlocked via gestures performed on the touch-sensitive display. The device is unlocked if contact with the display corresponds to a predefined gesture for unlocking the device. The device displays one or more unlock images with respect to which the predefined gesture is to be performed in order to unlock the device. The performance of the predefined gesture with respect to the unlock image may include moving the unlock image to a predefined location and/or moving the unlock image along a predefined path. The device may also display visual cues of the predefined gesture on the touch screen to remind a user of the gesture.
I've read that Samsung has nullified that patent in the Netherlands though :v: In other news, Widget Locker has updated to 2.2 and has the ICS 'slider'/circle/whatever-that-is and it is really nice.

It's not just left-right like iOS.
Yes but it's still a predefined gesture, just that it can be up, down, left and right, it does have small images to show you what it will do when you drag the circle and etc. Anyways I don't think they'll get away with this patent
I guess so. Apple will still pitch a fit about it and with that patent they just may win. I wonder how much they're paying the patent office to let their shit slide.
In other news, Widget Locker has updated to 2.2 and has the ICS 'slider'/circle/whatever-that-is and it is really nice.
Fuck yes thank you for that information, installing now.
The UK carriers are starting to piss me off, they already have pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 800 but none of them know a thing about the Galaxy Note, the fuck is going on?
Installing ICS on my Nexus One BECAUSE I CAN
Got Samsung Galaxy S II yesterday, I love it.

Doesn't the phone radio not work?
Does anybody know of a backup app that I can essentially back up my SD card to a Windows network location over wifi, and have it use a schedule?
Doesn't the phone radio not work?
Hardly anything works but hey
