updating my rom, it's skipped two major revisions since I last updated it so i'm expecting some cool new features!
Does anybody know how I can bypass a "too many pattern attempts" menu?
Some asshole at work decided to try and unlock my phone multiple times and managed to get me onto this screen.
It'd be useful if the phone actually unlocked with my username + password but I doubt it's working , as right after I press "sign in" it immediately says invalid password / username. Wouldn't it have to go to some authentication server , meaning there'd be some delay?
I really don't want to do a factory reset on my phone as I'll lose messages and contacts and there are some things I really don't want to lose. Does anybody know how I can bypass it , fix the login or just take me back to the pattern unlock screen?
Cheers in advance
On 1.6 you could boot into safe mode and it would've bypassed that otherwise no you can't.
You could always try pulling the battery and waiting for 10 minutes or so, but I don't know if it would work.
Will flashing MIUI on my SGS2 increment the flash counter?
Will flashing MIUI on my SGS2 increment the flash counter?
Not if you flash via CWM
The binary counter only goes up when you flash via Odin in download mode.

Flashing kernels will increase it, you could just buy and use a USB JIG to reset it
Also, CM7's HSPDA is also shit, couldn't get a 3G connection to check for my fucking bus for most of the time.
And GS2
Question:
Can i flash Semaphore kernel and Simplicity ROM on my phone even though those are JVT and i've used always JVH as that's what i've had on my phone always before.
And would it all work fine ?
Will flashing those change my Phone/Modem and CSC?
My phone:
Samsung Galaxy S 2.3.3
PDA: XWJVH
Phone: XXJVO
CSC: NEEJV3
I wonder why almost nobody heard of\talk about sony ericsson mobile. They've made some really good smartphones this year and nobody noticed it.

Ha, a comedian.
Edit:
Ah, I suppose I better justify that.
The Arc is probably the only phone that's caught the eye due to it's nice design, the rest are well nothing special at all. The only good thing about them is that all their '11 models are definitely getting ICS. I look forward to seeing what they will produce now that Sony bought them out.
Cancelling purchases is neat. It's shitty finding out the live wallpaper you just bought runs like shit, as cool as it may look.
Shame it's only a 15 minute window now, I understand why it is that short but the dev should be able to set how long it is. It's too short for things like a launcher or like some games
all the good games won't even download in that timeframe, that is ridiculous
It should be like WP7 where a trial version is available and you can choose to purchase later
Sony seriously needs to step up their game for the new smartphones, and in a big way.
I think the best way to do it is to offer a normal slate smartphone with dual core Snapdragon S4 or OMAP 5, 4.5 inch 720p display, and 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB NAND flash. Then from there offer both a solid hardware keyboard variant and a PSPhone variant with identical specs but the added keyboard/gamepad. Or make the hardware keyboard be able to swap out for a gamepad.
Boom, just rooted my Xoom. Now to flash Tiamat.
If I decide to warranty claim the Xoom because of any hardware defects I can always re-lock it, correct?
oh wow
fastboot oem lock
Are there any Roms which bring Vanilla android (with vanilla launcher) on SGS?
I would really like to install one when ICS comes out

Yep, you should always be able to relock and reflash back to stock and make it look like it never happened.
Remember how I wanted to code C++ on my Xoom?

even if I don't put any code in
This is probably a ridiculously simple/dumb question, sorry dudes, but I'm having trouble getting used to the whole Android thing.
I've had an SGSII for a little while now and I'd like to root it/install a custom firmware. Is there any way to do this without losing my data/texts/contacts/apps, or an easy way to back them up? And what firmware should I install?
You shouldn't lose any of that in the first place
Really? Sorry, I have no idea with any of this shit and was just going off what a mate said.
So if I just follow any tutorial on the internet it should be all sweet?
Mmm.. "FOR ANY ROOTING/FLASHING QUERIES HEAD TO YOUR DEVICE SECTION ON XDA-DEVELOPERS FIRST, thank you."

Contacts should by synced with your Google account
for texts use SMSBackup+
Google Checkout remembers all your market purchases, and the web interface has a history of everything you've downloaded which makes it easy to redownload everything
For data use Titanium Backup, however this requires root (but if you want to flash a new ROM, root first -> backup -> wipe/flash -> restore backup)

Awesome, just bought it as well.
I never thought the Xoom was really anything special. It's more of a prototype than a full tablet.
Someone offered me to buy my iPad 1 for 500$, will that be enough to buy Asus Transformer Prime with that slick keyboard dock?

No-one knows for sure until it's released into retail.
But it's PROBABLY around that price range.
Is there a live wallpaper that looks like DeepEnd for iOS?
