There is a AT&T GSII with only HSPA+, but there's a new one with LTE and a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3. The HTC Vivid is a Snapdragon S3 @ 1.2 GHz, but better camera, higher res screen, and HTC Sense.
The original GSII with HSPA+ isn't sold in AT&T retail stores in my area for some strange reason, so it'll take a bit of screwing around to get it.
Hnnnng keep your posts bloody simple man :v:

But get the SGSII because, yeah.
I guess I should have mentioned that it requires a gyroscope.
Too bad my phone only has a accelerometer and 2 small gravity actuated switches to detect it's orientation.

But the only reason for the SGSII is because of 'dat Exynos, as far as I'm concerned. No Exynos on the SGSII=no sell for me. The IPS panel of the HTC Vivid/HTC Raider is fine with me because I don't put great emphasis on SAMOLED+. If there isn't a pattern of "THE PANEL SUCKS DICK" then I'll gladly take the HTC Vivid's better camera, HTC Sense, and the nicer design. If either phone was 720p this wouldn't be such a hard decision to make.

Incompatible with my Blade :saddowns:
[editline]1st November 2011[/editline]
Wait, my phone does have a gyroscope...
Oh wow, both the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE and the Galaxy S2 HD LTE variant use a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3 chip.
So basically, AT&T got the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE and the HTC Raider 4G. WHY NO 720p GODDAMMIT WHY IS THE REZOUND A VERIZON EXCLUSIVE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Well, possibly on the bright side, qHD means the GPU isn't as overworked as it would be on 720p.
Why are american phones so cheap, everytime I go some tech sites best buy have like $0 phone offers
Why are american phones so cheap, everytime I go some tech sites best buy have like $0 phone offers
The customers buy them subsidized and pay them off on three year contracts.

Usually 2 year actually
[editline]31st October 2011[/editline]
plans are expensive as fuck though
The customers buy them subsidized and pay them off on three year contracts.
1 or 2 year contracts, but yeah, they're subsidized. Carriers lose money on them initially, but make it back over the contract period. That's why you sign contracts, and have early termination fees.

We pay around 80-100 USD a month for minutes, SMS/MMS, and data in reasonable allocation.
i got my phone for $0, with a 3 year plan, it woulda been better with a better, higer end phone, i.e. evo 3D but my parents we're cheap. plus, it woulda been 149 dollars on top of the 50 dollar a month service
I pay 28€/month for SGS + 350min/txt /month + 512kb/s unlimited data on 2 year contract.
I pay 28€/month for SGS + 350min/txt /month + 512kb/s unlimited data on 2 year contract.
Why can't prices be lower here :suicide:
My family pays about $200 a month for an unilimted talk/text for all 4 phones, unlimited data for the iphone and 150mb/month for an android.
Two year contract is up next month.
this is including the monthly tax.
I love my new ROM
tun.ko is set up and everything else too, so when I went to go set up my school VPN, it was easy as shit
Finally watching the official ICS presentation video
So amazing, can't wait
My phone was $448 with a 30 dollars monthly plan. Is it reasonable?
Depends on where you're living.
New HTC phone. Looks sexy.

Robber, you are a star.
Now take my money.
also, support for widescreen wallpapers that would move with the homescreens (like when using a static wallpaper) would be epic.
edit: oh what, no automerge? throw boxes at me.

That's planned for the first update. But I'm not sure when I'll get it done. I'm too tired to do anything today and tomorrow I have to go to work again.
Aww damn. It says it's not compatible with my phone.
It needs a gyroscope.

I screamed with excitement a little.
Ahhh fack, trust my HTC desire Z to not have a gyroscope
Right, on the top of desire Z, I plan on rooting and installing cyanogen, is there any way I can back up my phone exactly so that if I fuck up, I can just restore it with no hassle?

AT&T why must you do this to me
you announce it the day after my 30 day return warranty
So I picked up a lightly used Nexus S (some scratches on the back, two light, small scratches on the screen) for $150 + my ulgy, gold Zelda DS Lite. Gotta love Kijiji!
I installed CyanogenMod the night I got it and have been enjoying it compared to my shitty Spica. The battery life is a little meh compared to my old phone (Which I was able to get 2 days out of without issues), despite being the same capacity. I might look into extended batteries or undervolted kernels.
However, it's very fast, has a great camera, responsive touchscreen and looks beautiful. It's nice not having my phone get in the way of what I'm trying to get done. The only things I don't like about the phone is the lack of a hardware camera button (Solved somewhat by making it a lockscreen shortcut) and the battery life, which can probably be fixed in software.
