Looks like visionary is the wrong thing to root my HTC DESIRE Z with, it appeared to underclock it down to about 100mhz :v:
My dad needs a new phone for his work because his old phone broke today. He's mostly interested in sending e-mails and browsing the web with it. Which phone should he get? Unfortunately he can't really wait with buying one, but on the other hand he really doesn't need something like the Samsung Galaxy Note.

Nexus S. It's cheap, has great performance, is not too large, not too small and very stable because it's a Google phone.
Will the Samsung Galaxy Nexus be available on Verizon?
Wasn't it a 'Verizon exclusive'? Anyways I think it will come out on Nov 17th.
If so, I will be getting that
Just tried ICS on my Desire (That's why I needed those microSD cards)
DAMN that thing's pretty. Also scrolling is so damn smooth (although everything else lags a lot - but that's expected from an SDK port)
[editline]3rd November 2011[/editline]
Also it will be possible to force GPU rendering for all apps
Still looking for a phone, anyone know what the LG Optimus 2X is like? My current operator is offering it for 1 euro on contract, I've read good things about it but also some bad ones too, and I wondered if anyone here had hands on experience with it.

Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Try to get my O2 PAC code at 19:55, and someone answers at 19:59.
Once he's asked me what I need help with he notices the clock went over to 20:00 and pretends to be an answering machine...

I got a free sgs2 from O2, so I love 'em...
Also B&N Nook Tablet Specs leaked:
Dual core TI OMAP processor at 1.2GHz.
It's a tad thinner, at 0.48 inches (down from 0.5 inches).
Weight is down a bit, too, at 14.1 ounces (from 15.8 ounces), or 400 grams versus 448 grams.
It's now got 16GB of internal storage, plus it can take up to a 32GB microSD card.
Battery life is listed as "to be determined," but it looks like BN's expecting 8 hours with Wifi off, or 4 hours of video playback
Speaking of Wifi, it'll support 802.11 b/g/n, just like the Nook Color.

at $249 that's pretty good.

Can't wait to deal with that in a day or two. Hopefully they actually do have the Galaxy Note and send me to "disconnections" Come on free Note on a £15-25 unlimited data contract!
I knew fanboys were fucking stupid, but I always assumed Android fanboys were mostly geeks and at least somewhat "smart". Then I read the comments to this video: http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=4Ph027cDNnE
He's showing a legitimate bug on his Android phone and this is one of the first comments: "Another* iPhone freak!"
What the fuck!?

Received my Galaxy S2 today, but it's not the right goddamn model version. It was advertised as i9100, it's actually a T989 aka Hercules. That means a weaker processor, correct? Are the differences large enough that I should return it and try again from another retailer?
Are you on T-Mobile? If so, I guess keep it. The Snapdragon is about 20% slower in the CPU department clock for clock, so the Exynos at 1.2 GHz is about equivalent to the Snapdragon S3 at 1.5 GHz. The GPU of course is a different story, but if Samsung has a hardware accelerated browser/launcher for the phone, it should be alright. The GPU is on par with the OMAP4.
I need a sexy and fast rom for my blade, I want to use it for app testing and games really.. ideas?
Mine dies fucking fast. HELP
Pull the battery after shutting down the phone, wait about a minute, put it back in.
I need a sexy and fast rom for my blade, I want to use it for app testing and games really.. ideas?
Depends on what you mean by
sexy
But if you just want something that doesn't waste resources and battery live, them my guess is CM7 or stock Gingerbread tailored for your phone.
People running ICS, how does it perform on FP compared to the stock honeycomb browser?

Take this, replace Snapdragon S3 with Snapdragon S4 and you have the best phone on the market for a good year or so.

Oh, and use IPS.
Tried flashing MIUI from cm7, forgotten to wipe data, now boot loops. How do I get to CMW back again? Via Odin?
Pull the battery, use volume key combos to boot into recovery :|
[editline]3rd November 2011[/editline]
Also, why the fuck does the Galaxy S and S2 have the recovery partition integrated into the kernel?
[editline]3rd November 2011[/editline]
And why the fuck didn't HTC go with NovaThor SoCs when Qualcomm's Snapdragons currently clearly suck so much ass?
Oh my gooddd...
