I have a 100MB cap for a month, I can survive that.
They said it was unlimited...
It technically is, just at 16kbps :v:

So you're either on T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon, or you only use Sprint 3G.
They said it was unlimited...
then you're getting screwed nicely. try to cancel the contract or get them to make the internet unlimited
I'd rather have limited internet, like 500MB would be enough, without the dumb limit at least, but the plan with that costs TWICE as much as my current one. Ugh, Russian carriers hurt my brain...
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
the saddest thing is that my internet at 64 kbps is faster than the internet on my old carrier
I sent a support message to nokia about that problematic 8gb micro sd card that the x7 came with, they suggest me to format it, which i still havent done so yet, gonna watch that 5gb collection of stuff to watch first.
Burned through the 5 MB limit in 13 minutes. One thing I can say is that without the 64kbps limit, it is FAST.

Aren't you in the Czech Republic?
I'm in Russia. My IP is special.
I bet you're just a russian spy infiltrating my country!
So I just switched to a different carrier, because I was sick of my mobile internet not working at all.
Picked a nice plan, 300 minutes, unlimited SMS/MMS, unlimited internet.
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
WHAT THE FUCK, THEY HAVE A 5 MEGABYTES PER HOUR LIMIT
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
FUCK. So apparently my speed gets limited to 64 kbps once I use more than 5MB of traffic per hour, or to 16kbps when I use more than 70 MB per day...
Wow, what a nice plan, unlimited internet that gives you a nice speed cap after 5MB of usage, how nice. And even more speed caps based on usage, what a great company! What's the carrier?
No seriously, that serives sucks, badly. I'm using 5mb per minute right now
Wooo just got my Dad a Galaxy S2 as an upgrade from his old BlackBerry. He really likes it so far!
Would you be able to provide a video of the issue?
There is an easy 1 click root solution out for your phone now. It doesn't void your warranty either, so go ahead. But you have to be updated to Android 2.3.4. It fixes the "buzzing" thing. Kind of. It's still there, but it just doesn't show up in recordings or calls anymore.
yeah, ill post a video of the problem soon, outlining what's wrong with different camera angles so you can see my finger/thumb contacting the touchscreen. I've seen some improvement with the app that was recommended earlier, like 1-20 percent on apps. Or maybe it's a delay for animation, but either way ive tried this after diabling all animations.
This problem may be the touchscreen or the app, or the software...
Alright, I just received my first Android phone (ZTE Blade) and I'm really happy with it so far. I installed a few apps but now I'm running into space problems. I don't know how much internal memory the ZTE Blade has, but it's not much because I already managed to completely fill it up, so I can't download any app anymore. I know you can move apps to the SD card but it's not helping. Any ideas?
Wait, so you went into the settings, application settings, and loomed through the collection of apps, select one, there should be a move to sd card button, unless the app cant do that. Maybe the version of android is outdated, try updating. If not, install app2sd, this app provides a list of apps that you can move to your sd card, whats on it and apps that are phone only.
Also, check the SD card too, try reformating it after backing up anything that's on it.
Hopes this helps.

I used to have unlimited 3g with MTS for ~25 dollars per month not so long ago (Beginning of summer)
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
MTS is probably the best carrier
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
Now I am in Canada and I have to pay 30 dollars only for phone calls :suicide:

Lol i hav family plan 40 bucks a month for two. Basically 20 a month for me, no text, just calling. But i gpt a decent phone, which was the best at the time of the promotion.
And yeah, what plan did you go for?
And did you remember Rogers had 6GB for 30 a month? Better than paying 25 for 500mb.
I'm really considering the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but one thing that I don't like is the fact that I can't use a Micro SD card with it, and it only has internal storage
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
I'm sure it'll be a step-up from this:

I would recommend the Galaxy S2 HD LTE if it ever came out but seeing as how they massively cocked it up by putting a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3 in it you might as well get a Rezound if you crave a 720p screen.
If the Droid Razr had an unlocked bootloader, removable battery, and a 720p screen, that would be the phone to get. Or just wait for the Motorola Dinara to surface and hope the bootloader can be unlocked.
Buying android phone tip: must have microsd slot.
My sony erricsson xperia mini pro has 400mb internal storage, horrible, that's why it has microsd slot, i only have igb on it and i want to expand it to 32gb but those cards are expensive. Like 25 for q6gb, then a 32gb card costs like 70...
Still finding a 32gb microsd card...
Dear Facepunch, I have a dilemma.
I have until November 28th to get an upgrade because I just got a new line on the family plan I use, and they gave me a free shitty phone to use first.
Do I go for the Galaxy S2 HSPA+ version, or do I go for the HTC Raider 4G/HTC Vivid? LTE sounds delicious, and I'm sure by around May 2013 it'll appear in the San Francisco Bay Area, but Snapdragon S3 is going to be horribly irrelevant by the time I can get another upgrade. The qHD screen and HTC's sexy design, along with the HTC Sense sounds nice, but I'm not quite sure. The camera on the HTC Vivid apparently is fantastic, but basically my only problem with the phone is the processor and screen res.
What I really want is to hear something about a newer phone around the corner that gives me TI OMAP 4 @ 1.5 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, microSD and 16 GB internal NAND, 720p 4.5 in. screen, 8 MP camera, and LTE. But if such a wunderphone doesn't rear it's head before that November 28th deadline, should I go for the GSII (No, not the Skyrocket variant with the same Snapdragon), or the HTC Vivid?

50 USD is pretty okay.
Future high-end phones after ICS seem to suggest that 16 GB internal NAND and microSD will become the de facto standard.
Why the Rezound over the Galaxy Nexus?
Well, I wouldn't. I said if the Rezound was Snapdragon S4 (Next gen due to land early next year in new phones), or ST-Ericsson's NovaThor chipsets. Or TI OMAP 4. I would prefer the first two though, the NovaThor chipsets are on par with Exynos.
[editline]5th November 2011[/editline]
Why the Rezound over the Galaxy Nexus?
The Galaxy S2 HD LTE is kind of like the international version of the Galaxy Nexus, with a flat screen, buttons, and a microSD, with the processor replaced with a Snapdragon S3.
If the Droid Razr had a 720p screen, that's what I'd be getting
If the Droid Razr had a 720p screen, that's what I'd be getting
I would also prefer a removable battery, but apparently all of this is being held back so fuck that nonsense, too many compromises for thinness. I'll take a chunkier version with better hardware over thinness.
Im still raging that my phone has too little ram, it technically has 512mb but the total after android os uses is 350 or so mb and i usually get 100mb free, wow my phone needs more ram. I dont think i can upgrade it though...
My phone would be epic with 768mb or 1gb...
I dont think i can upgrade it though...
My HD2 has 512MB of RAM too, and it works just fine... Now my iPad had 256MB of RAM, and that is bullshit.

Yeah, I already have the app2sd app and I moved pretty much every app to the SD card (which can be moved), and the SD card still has a lot of free space, but the internal memory is what's the problem.
I have Android 2.2, I know it's old but I don't really want to risk anything by rooting it or something because I'm not good with this low level computer stuff.
