Someone in here was asking bout the SGS2 i777, right? And if there are any good stock+ ROMs?

Thanks. Really thinking about getting the i777 over the HTC Vivid. Decisions decisions...
What the fuckk. Quad core phones already?

I have a feeling Tegra 3 won't be competitive if it isn't Cortex A15.
,So I tried to update to 2.3.4. but Sonys pc companion said that it was updated, even if though many users of my phone have already upgraded which features better speeds and fixes some problems. I will assume that my carrier doesn't have it yet, anyways i decided to do a factory reset to fix a possible wifi disconnecting problem, or that sluggish touchscreen movement. Funny thing is, I forgot to back up the settings. Huge ass tech noob mistake, forgetting to back shit up. But i'm kinda happy that i didn't because it game my phone an actual reset. I reinstalled the essentials such as evernote, bbc new, moboplayer, swiftkey x, etc.
Has it fixed the wifi bug? No.
Has it fixed the sluggish touchscreen, yes but only a little bit. There's half of it remaining from before and it's way better than before too. Ill redownload that app and see if it helps, again.
Also, my phones been running faster and stuff. Either way, all of the apps were free. Still need to clean the sd card since lots of the apps moved to the sd card is still there, probably going to get back 1gb.
a few questions,
When i can upgrade to 2.3.4, does it reset everything like the factory reset?
When i buy an app and i factory reset again or upgrade or whatever, am i able to redownloaded without any additional fee, since i paid for it before, using the same google account?
Does resetting void warranty?
Does upgrading void warranty?
Doesn't google's android market keep a list of apps youve installed prior to factory reset. I kinda expected that.
You can update right now.
1. Download FlashTool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
2. Download the 2.3.4 update http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321948
You don't need to unlock your bootloader to do this, as it's a signed update.
You can redownload apps after you bought them, I'm sure.
Resetting shouldn't void your warranty.
Updating doesn't void your warranty.
Make sure you check your warranty to make sure, my mini is unlocked so my warranty is probably a bit more flexible.
Yes, go to http://market.android.com and login. It has a recently installed app list somewhere.
Need a sexier case for my Galaxy S II. My current one is bulk and ugly.

Does updating to a newer version of android reset the phone, as in everything (like a reset)? Or does it just update stuff and leave everything else as is.
Also I checked Android market and it only has the last 20 apps, which is fine since the rest were games i finished and didn't bother to uninstall anyways.
Edit: nevermind there is a list of all of the apps I installed: https://market.android.com/mylibrary
Can anybody explain the follows terms? I tried googling but nothing helped:
CIFS
Conservative (conservative governor module)
Deadline (deadline I/O scheduler module)
TUN
50MB Virtual cache
Kernel Scheduler
VM Dirtyness
Thanks in advance.

From what I can remember when I used to flash my x10, they were wipe versions (so you will lose your apps, sms and so on)
That link only applies to what you've installed
It depends what ROM you're using. If you're using stock roms, then you'll have to check what the manufacturer says. Popular custom roms such as Cyanogenmod and MIUI can be updated without having to wipe anything

Get the official mesh one, it's awesome.

A deadline, in I/O, is a strict requirement that a process must meet to take input or create output and pipe it. Think video playback: Reading each frame's data from disk to memory and drawing it to the screen has a strict real-time deadline that takes priority over other running processes, say if you have a browser in the background also attempting to read from the browser cache on the disk. The I/O scheduler, programmed for deadline applications, will prioritize the video playback, creating a smooth video-watching experience.
Virtual cache is an extension of a processor's low-level caches using RAM. The OS will specifically organize what data gets piped into the physical cache and what data remains in memory based on priority; by switching it in and out efficiently, the processor can effectively treat it as a massive expansion of its physical caches. But since the extra space consists of memory addresses in RAM, it's not physical, it's "virtual."
Kernel scheduler is similar to the deadline I/O scheduler, it manages processes on the OS and makes sure they all get their fair share of run time and resources depending on priority (a processor core can only run one calculation at a time, remember).
I'm deleting a Google account due to massive trolling/spamming. All of my installed apps are free apps. So to make them appear in the Market again, do I need to back them up using MyBackup root (or some other app), factory reset the phone, and restore the apps? The only issue is I'm rooted...
Does anyone know what the buttons in the default energy widget mean? I know the first one means Wi-Fi, second one Bluetooth, third one GPS, last one screen brightness, but I'm unsure about the 4th and 5th buttons. Any help?

In my experience it fits the (international) SII poorly i.e. it's not a tight fit at all and the plastic part feels like it can fall off easily. The silicone also picks up pocket lint easily. Just my two cents.
It's a good looking case though.

Titanium Backup or MyBackup, then factory reset, use your new google account, restore the applications, if they don't show up in market then wipe market data and they should. The ones that don't either you use MarketDoctor in TiBackup or whatever it is in Mybackup, or just reinstall them over market.android.com and then restore the data for those applications.

I flashed the stock ROM with Odin, factory reset, and then the su zip in CWM. Restoring apps now.

Now EVERYTHING is force closing. Phone is locked up.
I have a question, how do i update apps that came from other sources? As in not from the android market, from other sources,. Is there an app that allows me to update those apps instead of using the android market?

My phone used to run it with ~30 FPS without any overclocking. Now I am 100% sure that future is portable

Doesnt update the 'non Android Market apps'...
Still looking for an app that updates apps regardless of where it was installed.

If it isn't on the market, Android or Amazon, you're out of luck and your best bet is to frequent the thread on XDA that would have it.
Yup. If you just installed it from your sdcard, then you have to manually update it yourself, unless the app has an updater built in.

I completely agree with the amount of power in portable devices but remember, touchscreens are really shit controls for more serious games than Bejewelled.
Upcoming HTC QUAD CORE PHONE

http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/07/htc-edge-may-be-the-first-quad-core-smartphone-to-market/
Color us skeptical on this one, but rumors are coming down the pipeline about an HTC phone called the Edge. It's supposedly going to be the first Tegra 3-powered smartphone. According to Pocketnow, the device will supposedly offer a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, 4.7-inch 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 lens and Beats Audio. Curiously, no LTE capability was mentioned specifically, though 21Mbps HSPA+ appears to be good to go, and there's a slight possibility of Sense 4.0 being included -- which given its proposed launch window of late Q1 / early Q2 2012, wouldn't be a huge surprise. We'd love to start seeing more quad-core goodness headed our way, so we're definitely keeping our fingers crossed to see a lot more of the above show up at CES and MWC.
It's been confirmed to use a micro-SIM, 32 GB of internal NAND storage with no microSD slot, S-LCD2 with optical lamination to increase clarity. 1800 mAh battery and 8.8mm thick.
[editline]8th November 2011[/editline]
Fuck, HTC is stepping up their game. Give it a microSD slot, maybe some more RAM, and Snapdragon S4 variant with integrated cat. 3 LTE and it will be a massive step forward.
