Heads up, The Toshiba Thrive will be $200 in 30 minutes.
No Black Friday sales on the SGS II so far at any online retailers in Norway... Crossing my fingers!
Black fridays in other countries than USA? WHAT
About the Toshiba Thrive I mentioned earlier: According to Twitter Search, it sold out in roughly 3 minutes.
The GS2 is better at everything than the Nexus except it's screen. If you put a lot more emphasis into the screen and the Nexus branding, then go for that, but the GS2 is otherwise decidedly better in it's SoC. Whatsapp/Viber/Google Voice will do everything that iMessage does and then some. Honestly, it feels like there won't be a significant upgrade until 720p, Cortex A15/Snapdragon S4, and LTE are all in a single phone. Right now there really isn't a significant reason to change over unless you are just dying to do so.
The problem with being in Canada is that by the time I can get my hands on a Galaxy Nexus, it will already be several months old, so it might be worth it to wait for a Cortex A15, etc. But then by the time I can get my hands on that, it will be several months old. I was planning on paying full price for the Galaxy Nexus in January, and then if a new phone pops up at the end of 2012, I could get a 3 year term contract discount. But the reason I was looking at the Galaxy Nexus was because I read somewhere that Google phones are always updated to the latest android version, which is pretty important for me. But I believe the S2 will be upgradable to Android 4.0? LTE isn't even available in my area and wont be for maybe another good year or so, so LTE isn't an issue. Hmm.. tough decision. Edit: I was looking at the Toshiba Thrive on New Egg because I had received an email. Refreshed about a minute after the price dropped and it was sold out :v:
No Black Friday sales on the SGS II so far at any online retailers in Norway...
It's $555.00 (38% off) on Amazon.com, but I don't know if they ship to Norway.
Black fridays in other countries than USA? WHAT
There are some retailers and certain shop chains that have over the years slowly adapted to the Black Friday tradition here in Norway. There have been hour sales already but none on the things I want need.
Does any one know if there's a ICS Port out for OG Droid? I know CM 9 will.
I want a really good phone for christmas. I would like customizability (such as ability to root) and brilliant camera, capability, and performance. I can spend any amount of cash for it. Recommendations?

If you want a better GPU (or generally better hardware), go for the S2. They're both top-end Android phones at the moment. Both have root available, too.
Uh, nevermind the "I can spend any amount of cash on it" thing, I can spend around £400 on it. Thanks for the suggestions though :v: Any more?

Thanks. Also: 1. Can I buy it one time and not on contract, and is there any benefit to doing so. 2. What's a really good contract for infinite internet, I don't need many texts because I'm not a social person and I have noone to text. :v:
Orange do decent unlimited internet I think. But that may just be on the contracts with phones. To be honest you are probably best getting a cheap contract with phone included, but with a large one off fee.

I got mine at Carphone Warehouse. You won't be tied into a contract and can change providers at any time. 2. I use giffgaff. It's on the O2 network but offers 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £10/month. It's PAYG too, so that's a plus. Visit the website here or if your feeling nice here's an affilliate link so both of us get £5 free credit.
All those points he bought up matches the phones I shown.
Capability and performance aren't the words I'd use to describe a Wildfire or an Optimus.

The link I used:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ym4A82ft5pw
Much cleaner than the one you used
