The problem with being in Canada is that by the time I can get my hands on a Galaxy Nexus, it will already be several months old, so it might be worth it to wait for a Cortex A15, etc. But then by the time I can get my hands on that, it will be several months old. I was planning on paying full price for the Galaxy Nexus in January, and then if a new phone pops up at the end of 2012, I could get a 3 year term contract discount.

But the reason I was looking at the Galaxy Nexus was because I read somewhere that Google phones are always updated to the latest android version, which is pretty important for me. But I believe the S2 will be upgradable to Android 4.0? LTE isn't even available in my area and wont be for maybe another good year or so, so LTE isn't an issue.

Hmm.. tough decision.

Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S2. It really depends on details, such as if you really NEED an HD screen, go for the Nexus. If you want a better GPU (or generally better hardware), go for the S2.
They're both top-end Android phones at the moment. Both have root available, too.

Orange do decent unlimited internet I think. But that may just be on the contracts with phones. To be honest you are probably best getting a cheap contract with phone included, but with a large one off fee.

1. Loads of retailers let you buy it outright. I got mine at Carphone Warehouse. You won't be tied into a contract and can change providers at any time.

2. I use giffgaff. It's on the O2 network but offers 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £10/month. It's PAYG too, so that's a plus.
