Hey I have a question about clearing you data from your android and giving it to someone else. I'm planning to give my phone to someone but I have a custom ROM installed so I don't want to factory reset it but I need to clear my personal data from it. I can flash the ROM again but all of my data from the SD card will still be there, I can get rid of apps but I'm not sure how to get rid of all of my personal data without formatting the SD card and crippling it. Any advice guys?
Wipe Data from CWM leaves your ROM untouched
Then just delete all the files you don't need on SDcard
I've been browsing a lot and wanted to know if this was the best method for the i777.

Hey guys question : when my phones battery is fully charged, and I want to use it, do I unplug and use it on battery or keep it plugged in and use it?

Depends what you are using it for... if you are playing a game or doing something else intensive on the phone take it out otherwise your battery is going to get very hot. Plus I would have thought the cable would make it a little awkward.
Why are ICS ports taking so damn long? GB didn't take nearly this long.

Well it would use it plugged in when browsing the internet and playing games, i don't mind the cable too much. I mean does using it when plugged in and fully charged not use the battery, instead it uses the power from the usb charger? And does doing this save battery life? I mean, I'm not discharging it at all when it's fully charged with the charger still plugged in..
Why are ICS ports taking so damn long? GB didn't take nearly this long.
1. It did.
2. We had leaks with sources to help. (Someone from Samsung leaked the one for the first Galaxy S)
What's the difference between the S II and the Epic 4G Touch other than the obnoxious name?
WiMax/CDMA radios, 4.5 inch as opposed to 4.27 inch screen, 4 capacitive buttons.

Unplug it, around 60-70 percent plug it back in so you don't have the charger having to do a very short charge cycle and keeping the battery at high voltage.
Got me the SII i777. Anything I should know?
Also, is there a way to turn data on and off? And when I'm on wifi does data get dipped into at all?
Also, what is the best way to check data usage?
For AT&T's data counter (which is wildly inaccurate and I suggest having 3G Watchdog to verify the veracity of their data counting), go to the dialer, hit *DATA# and you'll get a free text that will tell you how much data you've used.

List of specs for next phone I would get for an upgrade:
At least 1.8 GHz dual core Cortex A15 equivalent SoC with integrated LTE, DC-HSPA+, UMTS, EDGE, and GPRS basebands, along with 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi. (not antennas!)
GPS should reliably get around 9-15 feet accuracy and hold it, and TTFF should be sub-15 seconds.
Phone must weigh less than 160g, cannot have a screen bigger than 4.5 with capacitive and 4.7 without. Cannot be thicker than 10mm. Must have the newest version of Android out at the time. Battery must be at least 2000 mAh, screen must be at least 1280x720 and equivalent to either AH-IPS or SAMOLED. Camera must be on par or better than the Amaze 4G and iPhone 4s, with dual LED flash. At least 16 GB of internal NAND and a microSD slot that allows for hotswapping microSDs. At least 1024 MB of RAM.
The sound quality should ideally be the same as the Galaxy S, and a fully unlocked bootloader, as much code in the official ROMs for the phones should be open source, and it should be as easy to work with as possible.(Impossible to brick, easy to flash new ROMs, etc.)
The custom UI should be completely modular and clearly segregated in the source code, and be as polished as HTC Sense.

I CAN DREAM
What's wrong with keeping the battery at high voltage? Is it bad? And is short charge cycle bad too?

keep dreaming my friend, until next year. By then, something like this would be out, I predict. Also, why at least 16gb NAND and not 32gb?
Hey swiftkey x is half off, now $1. 99. Should I buy it now or wait till Christmas when it might go down to 0.99?
is it worth it

At least 16gb NAND because OEMs tend to be cheap bastards.
Basically, I want HTC or Samsung to pull another Evo 4G.
High voltages decrease battery lifespan due to some things that I don't remember quite well, short charge cycles are good for li-ion batteries. Too short and you spend too much time at high voltages.

Its prediction is amazing
100% worth it if you are a fast typer
If you are a careful typer like me get touch pal
Why are ICS ports taking so damn long? GB didn't take nearly this long.
Here's an idea, learn to port it yourself and see how many problems and stuff the devs are coming across.
Apart from having to write most of the drivers themselves it doesn't help that ICS is a lot more complex than the previous releases. HW Accel has given a lot of phones that's don't share the Nexus's GPU a lot of hassle.
is it normal that a galaxy tab 10.1 lags like hell? I was trying one at a store and it felt incredibly slow compared to my GS2.
Also tried the asus eee pad transformer, default honeycomb felt faster but still not as fast as my phone o.O

Two reasons: 1. The SGS2's Exynos is a beast and much faster than the Tegra 2.
2. Unoptimized ROMs.

Never judge a tablet by the one in the store :v:
It's full of so much crap people have installed on to it etc.
It's a lot better when you have your own and much more when you have a good ROM.
Revolver 3.9.5 OTA now avaliable

Sure, unoptimized ROMs were what I thought of at first, but it still surprised me how sluggish it was.
And yeah, the Galaxy Tab had the whole Market installed in it twice, but the transformer was pretty much clean yet still not exactly fast.
Still, I'm liking the idea of having a tablet more and more. I'll probably get one when I move on to a desktop PC and my laptop will die (bound to happen fast, this piece of shit acer is like a person on life support).
I have a Droid Bionic.
I like it.
That is all.
Tablets seem sluggish to me under two conditions:
1. Stock ROM
2. Live wallpaper in use - worse with the actual 3D LWPs
I have my Xoom on a custom ROM, kernel, overclocked and with a static background image and it's fast. Not noticeable in taxing things like games but overall responsiveness has increased noticeably.
My tablet only locks up sometimes because I did not wipe it before installing a custom ROM
Yeah, the only problem I have with my Xoom is that once in a blue moon it will not respond to the wake signal, so I have to force restart it. Seems to be a Xoom-specific issue based on a quick Google search but updating my custom kernel seems to have alleviated the problem, and even then it was a once every two weeks nuisance.

Thanks for the clocks, <3
About to embark on a epic journey of discovery and almost shitting yourself. Yes, I am going to install ICS beta for my SGS.
Looking at budget android phones and found the ZTE Skate/Orange Monte Carlo which is just great for my budget. Only thing is, I'm in Ireland and Orange don't ship abroad.
What do you think I should do guys? I might have 2 people who could both post the phone. Think I should get it ASAP or after Christmas? I'm getting paid on the 16th so I can afford it then..
What would be the best ROM for my HTC Desire? I need an allrounder, battery life is important but so is performance and good looks, I would prefer something that gets updated regularly.
All I have tried is CyanogenMod7 which ended up being buggy for me as I cant install apps on it anymore, but thats my fault I think.

I suppose you did flash gapps with CM7?
Thats where I went wrong, I was so excited that I rooted my phone I didnt watch a proper tutorial, so I flashed Google Apps later on like a fool.

Re-flash it, but this time do it properly.
