Is there an app that will show my new notifications from my status bar on my lockscreen? I really need this
So I tested out dolphin browser mini and xscope browser. So far both are nice and better than the stock browser but I seem to already see some problems with xscope like when I was typing this I couldn't see what I was typing by the end of the first sentence while dolphin mini worked. This problem was also found on the stock browser. It was also easier for me to scroll through text comment boxes than xscope or stock, or opera mini. But xscope was the only one with themes to choose from and the ability to import bookmarks from the stock. If you can, please tell me. Also, the ability to turn down the screen brightness is also really nice and it has a cleaner gui than xscope stock.
If I were to root and/or overclock my Galaxy S2, would it void the warranty? And is this site(http://epic4gtouchroot.com/]) good for learning for to root and add roms?
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Asus-Eee-Pad-Transformer-2-with-Windows-8-coming-down-the-pipe_id19548 Would this mean that you need to wait and buy a special Windows 8 version, or could I just take windows 8 and install it myself later?

Assuming you have backed it up first. I haven't rooted my phone yet, I don't need to, yet...
I have titanium backup but it requires me to root it. How can I soft root it?
I have titanium backup but it requires me to root it. How can I soft root it?
Soft root? No such thing. Rooting is pretty binary. You can always switch it back...
Ah I see, and I apologize for my lack of android knowledge. This is my first android phone...and it's amazing.
Get on XDA, Google and YouTube and do some research about whatever phone you have, and rooting it, and so on. You're going to need ClockworkMod Recovery and a few other things. Do your research and ask questions if you can't find the answers. XDA is your friend.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/IGNIS-develops-technology-for-300ppi-AMOLED-displays-with-regular-RGB-matrix-someone-has-to-actually-make-them_id24183 This should make for an interesting development. SAMOLED+ equivalent screens that aren't just made by Samsung anymore. This is good.
Sorry if this sounds silly, but wouldn't it be better getting the galaxy nexus over the s2, due to android 4.0 on it? Sorry, I'm not experienced with phones at all :v:. I'd like to root it though.
4.0 will come out for the s2 as well
Any suggestions for a good music player and a video player for the SGS II?
Sup guys. Rooted my phone, installed adFree, and got a screenshot tool. I want to take advantage of its root-ness. Wat do. (Droid 3)
ES File Explorer is well worth downloading. Download it, then go to settings and enable Root Explorer and mount system as R/W. You can then go into the system files and delete bloatware. [editline]29th November 2011[/editline] Oh, and I'll just say right now that you should probably never underclock your phone. You might want to clock up your phone to 1.2 GHz, in fact. If you're wondering why I say this, look up HUGS. You will save more power for a given task if the CPU rapidly ramps up to max speed to finish it faster than if it spends more time at a lower clock with less power consumption. Intel already did extensive studies on this before, and we don't see companion cores in their laptop CPUs. Instead we see ULV chips and Turbo Core tech. http://semiaccurate.com/2011/11/09/tegra-3-missed-performance-goals-by-wide-margins/ [editline]29th November 2011[/editline] For the curious, storing your battery at 100% charge at 25C will make the capacity irrecoverably drop 20% in a year. It's not 20% of the original, but 20% of what is left. So if you're going to store batteries for a month or more, use it to about 40% before putting it in a dark, dry, cool storage space. Partial discharges of about 50% will increase the useful lifetime of a battery by about 250 charges, or 25%. ICS on my Samsung Vibrant (SGS) is pretty much perfect, everything that I need works, battery life is great, performance is WAY faster than GB, and it's just slick as hell. Definitely my daily driver.
