omg can the wildfire play crysis huehuehue
Do you guys know what's the cheapest non-ARMv6 android phone I can get? I want one for christmas, but price is kind of an issue (the Xperia SK17 is just about out of my price range). I don't care for huge screens, if it's 3" or more and it's resolution is above 240x320 I'm fine with it. I also don't care about QWERTY keyboards or LED flash for the camera. I'm searching for something just below the price of the SK17, since it appears to be a great phone at a such low price. Do you guys think I can find anything better than it in that price range or should I just go for it?

now THAT is an idea. I wonder how long will it take until we get crysis-like games on mobile devices. I'd say 3-4 years?
Of course, the battery will die before the game intro ends.
Yep.

Tegra 3 graphics look promising

With Tegra 3 we might get close to the Crysis 1 for consoles that was recently released :v:
(which is still MILES away from Crysis 1 for PC)
What's the average battery life with moderate usage on the stock SGS II?
I'm feeling it drains too fast for some reason...
a day (from let's say 07:00 to 21:00), atleast that's how it was with my previous SGS2.
Did you have JuiceDefender with that battery life?
I never used JuiceDefender and I can get around two days using it moderately (no gaming, just checking the internet, Facebook, e-mail etc. every hour or so), but I charge my phone every night
JuiceDefender only made battery worse for me.
Did you have JuiceDefender with that battery life?
Nope, I never used it. Major battery killers (WiFi searching or Data networks) were off the whole day.
However, with my new S2 that has the official 2000mAh extended battery kit and SpeedMod kernel, the battery life is getting better and better. With data networks or wifi (if I have one available) and moderate usage, I can last two days with no problems. If I'd turn internet off it could've probably been even 3 or 4, but I'm addicted to internet.
Apparently the S2 battery improves over time for about the first six months

This is why my uptime is 78 days :science:
Any news on when ICS updates are hitting Google phones?
Any news on when ICS updates are hitting Google phones?
"Soon."
Did you have JuiceDefender with that battery life?
I'm getting 2x since I installed and configured it, it's still running.
It's nice that WiFi can be turned off automatically, but either way, I dont even use mobile internet, gps, bluetooth, so either way, it's at 2x
when i mean 2x, I mean when i pull down the nofitications, its telling me im getting 2x
are there any working pptp VPN clients for android? I'm using cynogenmod on my HP touchpad but the included VPN client does not work.

Did you configure it correctly?

This is ShadowGun, basically Gears of War for Android, for phone and tablet.

Well, ofcourse I know about and own Shadowgun, the devs are from my city, I should own it :v:
Graphically it's awesome, gameplay is really simple though.
However it's still not really close to Crysis, especially not physics/environment detail-wise yet. But we ARE getting there.

Crytek porting Crysis to Android anytime soon or is another dev going to do it?
I would say probably a different dev since N.O.V.A. (Basically Halo) was made.

You rewrite CryEngine 2 in Java then!
Go on, off you go!

Or run CryEngine2 using a C++ emulator?
Crysis under an emulator on a phone...

x86* it'd be compiled.
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
Oh god imagine Crysis on a phone through an interpreter.
About one frame an hour?
They could use the unity engine, or re-code cryengine with java...
Or since its based on linux, they can run the game as a linux game or run it on wine if it has a mobile version...
You make recoding one of the most impressive computer game engines ever written from a Microsoft Windows compiled C/C++ program to Dalvik virtual machine java under android on mobile hardware seem like a worthwhile undertaking for a game which would sell for £5, lag like a bitch and be completely unplayable without PC controls worthwhile.
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline]
And easy.
I would wait till the specs of the hardware are on par first, which pretty soon.
4.0 will come out for the s2 as well
Thanks!
