Fuck Nokia, I wish the community would be able to do that. ICS and the N9 design would be PERFECT together.

That looks amazing, it would suit the black model just perfectly!
I'm in love with the ICS style on Prime now, my transformer just looks amazing.
Also, how come when everyone sees a cmd or terminal window, they immediately think you're hacking or something?

What?
If/when I get a phone, It will only be because of not calling people or texting, but because I'm interested in android and want internet anywhere.
Is this bad?
This is the only reason why I have a smartphone and not just a dumbphone with only voice.

Shit, pageking.
I'll just say that I got FPSe. This is pretty badass, just get me a phonejoy with a stand and I'll be golden :v:
What?
You know, when someone sees you doing something in a linux terminal window, they ask you what/who you're hacking now etc. Though, the people that believe this, they are not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I knew what you meant :v: I was just confused because I've never seen anyone doing that. Recently it has been quite the opposite where they give me tips'n'shit.
I guess people in Austria are quite more experienced (with computers) than the average norwegian then :v:

I brought my computer running Arch to school one day. Some people came over to me begging/asking me not to hack their email and stuff.. Can't remember what GUI I was using.
I once had a teacher get pissed off at me because I opened cmd in Windows.
cmd.exe is blocked but you can just run command.com
I once had a teacher get pissed off at me because I opened cmd in Windows.
The IT department at my school has taken away my storage space because I made batch files that send messages to computers and kills the monitoring process.
Silly people upgraded the entire school to win7 because of this.
Now we're on the subject of IT departments...
Every time someone in the class has a computer problem they call me up, I really don't want to, but have to.
Recently, I was called up in school assembly to 'fix' it. Silly woman was trying to play an flv in WMP.
Oh, no problem, I'll just get VLC.
Oh, it is downloading real slow, like 40 mins until completion, I'll just get flash!
I download it.
I install it.
"you must close internet explorer to continue"
Suddenly! One of the schools technician comes in!
Looks at pc!
Clicks cancel on the install, then presses cancel on the cancel prompt, then cancels it again, and this time actually cancels it.
Then he tries to open the schools server.
I don't intervene, I just laugh inside, as he doesn't know the password to it or something, so he unplugs it and walks off with it.
The logic of technicians in this school.
It doesn't work? UNPLUG AND REPLUG ALL THE THINGS.
That doesn't work? Walk off with the computer and say it's fucked.
It made me mad.
And they use this thing called Protex, it blocks like 40% of the internet :v:
4chan? SEXUAL CONTENT.
Facepunch? SEXUAL CONTENT.
Reddit? SEXUAL CONTENT.
So I just go on www.eewai.com/facepunch or www.panoptikos.com.
edit: oh god i thought this was the computer illiterate thread where am i

By "taken away my storage space", do you mean that they took away your personal storage space, or the one on their servers/computers?

30mb on the computer, so not a massive loss.
Oh, and our school blocked xda-developers.com a few months into school. I can only imagine that me using the website had the school IT technicians raging about hackers or something.
For some reason no one in our school actually knows about custom ROMs and flashing.

*sign people see me looking through text files of html, they think I'm hacking.
And they ask stupid questions OUT LOUD. What fucking retards.
Gnerally tech illiterate and even techy people think it's always hacking.
Kinda funny how simple opening cmd automatically makes you a hacker :v:

People beg me to hack stuff for them such as facebook, emails, pirated music, software, movies as I point them to Google.
I end up getting paid, earned like 200 dollars since September. Yep, I'm getting paid for barely doing anything.

Good man. :v:

I'm pretty sure everyone knows about jailbreaking, but I always have difficulty explaining what a custom ROM is to people because they have no concept of what that is. People do know what root is though.
Just in time to fit with Engadget's hands on, I went to Columbus Circle and, by complete coincidence, found out that they had Verizon Galaxy Nexuses on display at the Samsung Experience.

That phone is something incredible. The UI is seamless, though it did feel a tad sluggish compared to CM7 running on my (albeit overclocked) Thunderbolt. However, overall, apps closed and opened rapidly, multitasking was quick and painless, and the UI was incredibly pretty to look at.
The camera, oh gods the camera. The options are fairly limited, but the shutter speed. Seriously, guys, it's nonexistent. I'd almost go as far as to say that the only thing that limits the speed of how fast you can take a picture, is how fast you can press the button.

That picture is way too big.
That picture is way too big.
Fixed, I forgot that 8mp pictures need to be resized :v:.
My question was kinda not answered before so:
My phone is fully charged and I will use it, should I
-disconnect the charger and use it
Or
-keep it plugged in, and use it?
I don't mind the charger cable.

Yay for Android Christmas
Android Christmas is best Christmas.
Interesting Google+ post from an Android dev about Android Graphics if anyone wants a read:
https://plus.google.com/105051985738280261832/posts/2FXDCz8x93s
Few things that stand out
• Android has always used some hardware accelerated drawing. Since before 1.0 all window compositing to the display has been done with hardware.
• This means that many of the animations you see have always been hardware accelerated: menus being shown, sliding the notification shade, transitions between activities, pop-ups and dialogs showing and hiding, etc.
• Hardware accleration does not magically make drawing performance problems disappear. There is still a limit to how much the GPU can do........

The last part is common sense, though the rest is interesting news.
But bad drivers are still a factor that can decrease performance though.
