3p here!
Also anyone with a galaxy S2 and minecraft getting "This server has restarted" spam across the screen?
I hate how they won't let you buy Minecraft if your device is incompatible, even if you're getting an upgrade soon.
Actually, sony's mobiles are good, just they don't have good hardware. My friend has a Xperia Mini Pro (not x10), and he likes it, he didn't have any problem with it, and it's fast and strong enough to play some games, browsing etc...
Right, so my parents are getting incredibly lairy about me not having a phone, and are insisting that I get one for Christmas. (don't know why, I've not had to use mine in the 4 years I bothered owning one and lugging it around, and the 3 years that I've not bothered owning one for)
So, I hate the idea of asking them for anything expensive (it's either I ask for a certain model, or they buy one anyway), so is there any "decent" android phone for less than £130, that's on pay as you go? (there won't be, I assume)
So, any cheap phones for a social pariah?

Orange San Fransisco II.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
I'm just irritated how they think that I suddenly need a phone. If I can go four years without using my phone, and then 3 years without bothering to carry it around, then I think that I can conclude that I don't need one.
Might as well see if I can do anything regarding 3g and tethering, just for the sake of using my Transformer anywhere :v:
Wow, that looks pretty awesome, actually, especially for the price. I mean, I see my parents on their Galaxy S2's, but I just couldn't justify the price of it, considering how little use I'd be likely to get from it.

even though you might not buy one, but S2 is pure awesome and does everything you throw at it (not literally, don't try throwing dishes or laundry at your phone)
even better is the nexus prime (galaxy nexus) because of the screen and ICS, it lacks microSD, only has a 5MP camera and it's a bit less powerful than the S2

Ill take 10.[/QUOTE] Screw christmas, I just bought SwiftKey X, minecraft for 10 cents, Canadian.
Right, I'm seriously considering the SF2, but I also saw (for a tiny bit more expensive) the Monte Carlo. Would that be a good choice, instead?

(also has the advantage of not being out of stock :v:)
Judging by specs, it looks better, but then again, they're out to sell.

I'm pretty sure they're both the same specs, just a bigger screen on the Monte Carlo. It really depends if you want a bigger device. I thought you didn't want to carry around a phone at all so I went for the SFII which is smaller.

If you're willing to go £10 over budget, the Acer Liquid metal is in the UK for £140.
It's much faster than the ZTE offerings (MSM 7230, which is faster than the original Desire)
It also has a fairly active modding community on modaco (thanks to it's attractive price in the UK)

A CM7 port is in progress at the moment.
EDIT2
It seems that the ZTE Crescent (the San Francisco 2) has the same chipset after all, but it looks difficult to get unbranded/sim locked in the UK.

Opera Mobile doesn't react either. Mini does, but that's just because it does not support javascript.
