Please help :( I really really really really need to get asphalt :(
Opera Mini does support js, just in a limited way.
Let's see, I've purchased... SwiftKey X Keyboard for $0.10, screw Christmas (which may be $0.99 or $1.99) MineCraft Pocket Edition (meh, it's alright but I'm sure it will have Survival Mode, and now I can go online!) Great Little War Game (looks fun) Fieldrunners HD (looks fun and hell, it's 10 cents) SketchBook Mobile (draw stuff bro! Now I need a pen for it, and a tablet..., hey this version can run on tablets right?) And it says 10 days of top premium apps, so tomorrow: 10 more apps for 10 cents each..? Hell Yeah! Im pretty sure it's like that because on the banner: NFS: Shift is on it, fruit slice or something, tetris, so basically 100 apps for 10 dollars, hell yeah I dont purchased the apps I either want or feel that I have use for in the future... BRB, waiting till tomorrow for moar 10 cent apps!
I'm pretty sure they're both the same specs, just a bigger screen on the Monte Carlo. It really depends if you want a bigger device. I thought you didn't want to carry around a phone at all so I went for the SFII which is smaller.
Yeah, you thought right mate, thanks for that. I'm just sort of considering if I want a large or small, and I'm kind of leaning towards large, as an extra inch isn't going to hamper me too much.
TERMINUTTER If you're willing to go £10 over budget, the Acer Liquid metal is in the UK for £140. It's much faster than the ZTE offerings (MSM 7230, which is faster than the original Desire) It also has a fairly active modding community on modaco (thanks to it's attractive price in the UK) http://www.expansys.com/acer-liquid-metal-205669/ [editline]6th December 2011[/editline] A CM7 port is in progress at the moment. EDIT2 It seems that the ZTE Crescent (the San Francisco 2) has the same chipset after all, but it looks difficult to get unbranded/sim locked in the UK.
Thanks, I'll have a look. I was kind of in a pissy mood earlier, I'm going to try to be open minded and have a look at all of this and see what I want of the lot. I might even go out and try to use a phone if I get one :v: Oh god, that was a fucking massive snowflake.
"fruit slice" is Fruit Ninja, fun time killing game. Also SwiftKey X is FUCKING AWESOME! I just need an ICS-y theme, anyone know about something like that?
Opera Mobile doesn't react either. Mini does, but that's just because it does not support javascript.
Disable JavaScript. But it takes away quick reply, the nice editor and the rating system... At least you can use FP...
So far I've purchased:
hey Terminutter, if you have no limit on budget, I'd suggest going with the S2 or the Nexus, they'll last longer (performance-wise) and stuff like that your choice though
So far I've purchased:
I got them all except Asphalt, which tells me that all my devices are incompatible :suicide:
Disable JavaScript. But it takes away quick reply, the nice editor and the rating system... At least you can use FP...
but I like to rate people from my phone :( and globally disabling JavaScript in all of Opera isn't exactly what I'd like to do either. I just wish Garry would put his dandruff away.
hey Terminutter, if you have no limit on budget, I'd suggest going with the S2 or the Nexus, they'll last longer (performance-wise) and stuff like that your choice though
S2's a lovely phone, and I assume the same for the Nexus but I have a £130ish limit, and I'd be terrified to carry a £500 phone for fear of losing it. (which I would, knowing me) I'm currently thinking I'll ask my parents about the Acer Liquid Metal, Monte Carlo or San Francisco 2, as all seem solid enough, and I think I'd find a reason to use them :v: I already have the ASUS transformer, so I don't exactly need a powerful phone, as I'm hoping that I'll be able to tether the transformer, and just use that instead for web browsing and the like. As for cameras, they don't matter to me either.
I got them all except Asphalt, which tells me that all my devices are incompatible :suicide:
I'm tempted to buy Endomonodo Sports Tracker but I don't know if I'll actually log my running time and stuff. I might though... It is decided, I shall buy it. I can't buy Asphalt either, incompatible.
Don't bother with the monte carlo, it's ARMv6 and so INFERIOR. I've USED ARMv6 man I KNOW the PAIN.
this is one thing I hate about the market: compatibility tells me app 'x' is not compatible, go to the internet, download x.apk, it works FINE
Apps define what hardware (and software) they require to run. It doesn't have anything to do with the market. The phone tells the market what it has and if it matches the dev's minimum requirements it lets you buy/download the app. What really sucks is that many custom ROMs lie about available hardware (especially on the Desire HD). I get at least 2 reports per week from people who bought my app for their custom ROM'd Desire HD and can't use it because it's not compatible and some just refund it after 1-staring it.
You're missing the point, not everyone has £500 lying about.
It was just general information to everyone and addressing the fact of his fear of losing a phone.
I don't really have the money, and I'm in a rough area, so an expensive phone is unwise, even if I had the money. (yeah, yeah, "rough" area isn't that bad, really, but it's still an area with fair amount of muggings monthly, and scrawny basement dweller is hardly threatening!) Thanks for all the help, though, guys.

My first ever touchscreen phone :v: There was an uncompleted Android port for it somewhere.
Ah the good old Jét? My first ever touchscreen phone :v: There was an uncompleted Android port for it somewhere.
Yeah, I was waiting for that port :v: The UI was so laggy, it was more of a slideshow [editline]oh hi[/editline] anyone know of a good lockscreen app (other than WidgetLocker since I'm a cheapskate) that has an ICS skin/lock-circle thing?
Yeah, I was waiting for that port :v: The UI was so laggy, it was more of a slideshow
Oh well still the most powerful Dumbphone!
Loving my rezound so far. It's an amazing phone.
swift key is nice, i just wish there was a hybrid between it and swype.
Oh well still the most powerful Dumbphone!
Yeah, well it performed well for its life. omg fancy screen rotation for GS2
It's been teased for sometime now, but it's now been revealed that the 10 year anniversary mobile edition of the epic Grand Theft Auto III shoots it's way onto selected Android handsets on Dec. 15. It'll set you back a measly $4.99, way less than we paid for it 10 years ago but sadly, at launch at least, not everyone will be able to enjoy this masterpiece. Supported devices at launch are: Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2X Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus EeePad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive
Optimus 2X but not GSII? The fuck rockstar?
And the Galaxy R which is a shittier version of the S2, with Tegra 2 It's probably only Tegra 2 devices for now
