80% of my battery got eaten in "stand by" mode by the Cellual Network Connection
Seriously, phone?
Battery life, smartphone.
Pick one.
You could root your phone to get more battery life. But first:
dim the screen down, like all the way down. If you root, you can go lower than without it
Use 3g, not 4G. Although both use more juice than WiFi, 3g uses less. And use WiFi whenever you can.
Turn off everything you don't need. Do you really need gps, Bluetooth? Or mobile Internet all the time?
Kill apps properly so it does suck up your juice.
You could use juicedefender to save juice by setting it to automatically turn off stuff.

I've already rooted, I don't use GPS/Bluetooth, I turn WIFI on all the time when I'm home, before I turn my display off I kill all applications with Task Manager. Display takes up over 60% of my battery even when on automatic.
whats the best galaxy s2 case?

First of all, stop killing applications. Instead you need to identify applications that are chewing through battery, and BetterBatteryStats will help you do this. BetterBatteryStats will also help you to identify issues with your phone firmware. If you see that a "suspend" and "events/0" process showing up constantly and you see that in battery stats in settings is showing high Android OS battery drain, you need to download a firmware upgrade from XDA-developers that has an optimized kernel and the ROM should be newer than about 2.3.4, as newer ROMs should fix that issue.
If you have 8 hours of screen on time before you battery is dead, stop whining because your battery is as good as an iPad 2's. If you only get 8 hours of any usage pattern before your battery dies, something is chewing through battery.

Also it bugs the shit out of me that HTC doesn't have an unlocked bootloader to start with. They need to make it possible to flash custom recovery and have permanent root out of the box.
The HTC dev unlock should be to flash a full engineering hboot with ENG S-OFF, and really it shouldn't be web-based in the first place, it should just be typing "fastboot oem unlock" in adb and then selecting the option on the phone to leave the phone completely open to flashing radios and custom kernels/ROMs.
Hell, with Samsung phones people are able to go so deep into the phone they can intercept bootloader calls and run an unsigned bootloader loaded into RAM and therefore run a completely custom OS, with HTC phones the bootloaders are pretty much never touched, and radio firmware is something that requires care because a corrupt radio flash can brick the phone. It's beyond me why HTC wants to keep shooting itself in the foot when the biggest reason why they got marketshare in the first place is banking on a massive dev community.
I just reserved my Galaxy Nexus for when my carrier finally releases it in January.

Unless someone disagrees, the Droids are still the ubiquitous slider for Android. In Europe, I think they're sold as the Milestone series.
I lost my HTC Aria a few months ago (I swear the fucking couch ate it) and my mom and I are looking at a replacement phone. (Too bad that won't replace my lost pictures n' shit)
One she recently suggested to me is the Dell Venue. I looked at the specs and features, and $1 + a 2 year contract (AT&T) looked pretty nice.
I wanna know what you guys think of it.

Edit: If you think it's funny I'd love an explanation as to why.
I don't know jack shit about phones.

It's a really niche piece of kit that didn't stand out in the market at the time of release. Basically no one bought them so don't expect much in the way of dev support; you'll probably be stuck on 2.2 forever.
Read a couple of reviews and see how you feel.
