Um, you guys from the UK, what kind of speeds do you get on mobile data? (i.e. H, H+)
I'm on O2 and get H in my town.
My SGSII is so smooth on GB, I can't imagine ICS improving that somehow. [editline]20th December 2011[/editline] Samsung's Androids have excellent video support, but it's definitely not a feature of AOSP Android, so I'm not sure about other manufacturers.
I'm using AOSP roms [editline]20th December 2011[/editline] Force all the UI to be rendered with GPU While that sounds tempting I'm not sure if I will turn this function on
I'm on O2 and get H in my town.
Yes, also how much speed do you get?
Ninja edit
Do want.
download doesnt necessarily means that its warez jeez guys
I agree. Technically you are downloading them, even if it's legit. Everything you get off the Internet whether it's a webpage or whatever, you request it, the server uploads the data so you can download it.
you guys can't touch my 40mbps down and 20mbps up from verizon 4g lte!
does android support mkvs ? (Converting my movies over so that they are ready for my tablet) :3
yup, but the stock player might not. You may need to 'download' yourself an app (or two) MoboPlayer MX Player I use all of these to watch my .mkv, .avi, .mp4 and so on

So apparently HTC's strategy has changed from "FUCK IT LET'S RELEASE A SHITLOAD OF PHONES" to quality over quantity. Rumor is that HTC is going to be releasing a flagship for the first half of the year around the first 2-3 months of 2012, it'll be headed to AT&T, and they'll also be releasing a WP7 LTE phone on AT&T. While the iPhone would no longer exist on the face of the earth?
Bought a Kindle Fire. If you buy it, I recommend rooting it and getting an alternate launcher. It's great so far.
Dice player master race
MoboPlayer/MX Player>Dice Player
MoboPlayer/MX Player>Dice Player
Used all of them Can say that Dice Player worked better for me
you guys can't touch my 40mbps down and 20mbps up from verizon 4g lte!
You can't touch my 150 kbps down Verizon 3G. Oh snap.
Looks like my phone's got Carrier IQ. I assume that I should get a custom rom now? Probably should've a while ago, but whatever. What's a great/the best custom rom out there? I've got an Evo 4g.
Flashing the "leaked" 4.0.3 radios to my GN. Apparently there's a big difference in signal. No word on battery life yet.

It looks like Sprint just didn't give a fuck about supporting the phone past around Sense 2.0, so I'd probably run a Sense 3.5 port.

Anything else out there?

The radios are already making a BIG difference. I would lose more battery than I should with just the screen off. I was at 56% about 2 hours ago, now I'm at 55%. And I also have better reception! Looking good from what I can tell.

It's some android OS bug that eats your battery

Had that too. For some reason GPS was causing partial wakelocks. BetterBatteryStats helps identify the problem.
