I've deleted everything thats not necessary, permanently turned off 3G, only turns on Wifi when I use it.
Haven't really done anything else.. Maybe it's 2.3.4 that is to blame.
Lack of CyanogenMod I would imagine. CM7 is a battery saver.
Install JuiceDefender.
You'll lose a bit of battery compared to just having 3G off 24/7, but it keeps syncing once in a while so you get your mails etc.
Have to get the pay one for application whitelisting.

What? That doesn't make any sense.
What? That doesn't make any sense.
Replied to the wrong person, that was meant for Thund3rdome. I thought you had battery issues too, obviously not.
What exactly does CM7 do to make battery usage lower? I'd rather stick with TouchWiz as I don't have a problem with the system, just with the battery.
Lol, just after I wrote that my TouchWiz crashed...

It makes it worse on the Fascinate. Most of us get 2.5% per hour on Touchwiz, 10% per hour on CM7.
The fascinate is just screwed up to begin with though.
I have the GS2 though.
So what is the best launcher as far as eye candy goes, and that is free? I tried Regina 3D, but it's pure shit. Go Launcher is okay, but not that great.

SPB
SPB
Re-read what I asked, SPB isn't free.

You could always try 2.3.4 and recalibrate the battery? I flashed with a non-wipe version.
Is it out on KIES yet or is Odin the only option?
Odin. I stay far away from Kies update anyway, I don't want to risk fucking something up with that shit.
Kies worked fine for 2.3.3 in my case.
Sure, I prefer Odin though.

"We expect to release the in the U.S. market sometime in August," Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung’s mobile business and digital imaging, told reporters at a media briefing.
Would Odin updating void my warranty?
Okey, so why does merging creating a new post?

I don't remember what is it that changes your binary count. Rooting, flashing?
You can always reset it with one of those jigs if you ever need it repaired.
Flashing IIRC
If you flash official firmware with Odin, it won't change your binary count. (Afaik)
Is there a way to see your binary count?
Put your phone in download mode. The counter is in the top left corner.
Uhh what, I had my Nexus One and my mum's iPhone side by side, and transitioning through homescreens, despite having widgets on all 5 of my screens, was noticeably smoother, and my mum only had about 2 and bit pages of apps/folders
Maybe against an iphone 3GS. It's physically impossible for that Nexus one with no gpu accelerated rendering to look smoother than a hummingbird based SoC with an SGX 535.
Now if you compare the Nexus S to the iphone 4, the nexus S is smoother. But you can't possibly say that comparing nexus devices is comparing Android general smoothness to iOS. Until google starts BANNING these custom UIs and bloatware then the standard will be each specific release from an OEM vs WP7 and iOS.
Ah, says 8 for me. So if I only used Samsungs official firmwares I still have my warranty? Not that I mind much but would be nice.
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- now I can't brag about how long my phone has been turned on.
[editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
Oh, nvm.

No I'm pretty sure if your updates weren't with kies your warranty is gone.
Okey, whatever really.
Just a note, JuiceDefender can increase battery uses in certain situations.
Also warranties lol

You don't need to pay for sync scheduling, it does that automatically on the free version.
SGSII but forgot to mention that I haven't used it heavily. My point was that losing 4% over almost a full day is pretty impressive. Before I lost 1-2% over a couple hours. It has been on for 1d and 15hours now.
Was that 1-2% on standby? or with using the phone normally?
I charged my sensation today and used WiFi, some flash and some videos for about an hour today and it went from charged to 69%. Is WiFi generally tougher on the battery?
Standy. "Is WiFi generally tougher on the battery?" I have no idea what to answer on this, what do you even mean? Isn't that kinda obvious? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say.
WiFi is easier on the battery than 3G.
Completely forgot that 3G even existed. Duh.
