Lawsuit incoming.
Can I get ICS for my S2? If so, is it worth it?
My Galaxy Nexus keeps locking up and rebooting randomly; and sometimes the lockscreen doesn't respond, forcing me to remove the battery. :/
How are the apps for tablets, just got my Galaxy tab today and havent found much to do with it yet.
Been looking into Android for a while, only problem is I'm stuck with a prepaid carrier. Virgin Mobile. Anyone have any experience with the LG Optimus V? One of the cheaper phones they carry...
Re-post. Still wondering.
It's alright, it has some dev support on XDA and an unofficial CM7 port, it's the same phone inside as my Optimus T, once you flash a custom ROM it speeds up considerably (and better battery too)

One question though, how is the screen when it comes to typing? I know it's a little smaller than most phones...
I just flashed CM7. I noticed that the camera/video quality has been reduced. Is this normal? Or am I just seeing things?
It took a dive on the triumph but it's so much better at everything else I don't care [editline]27th December 2011[/editline]
Good to know, was already planning on installing BACKside. Guys why does my data network mode on my SGSII keeps activating by it self even tho I disabled it?
My parents gave me an IOU for an HTC Wildfire for Christmas I think it should be coming in tomorrow. I'm excited. I don't want a ridiculously sharp and the best phone since this will be my first smart phone. Anything I should know about Android?
I just got a galaxy s2 skyrocket I'm completely new to smartphones in general What's some cool shit it can do/things I need to install?

There's a thread floating around somewhere with everyone's 'must have' Android apps in it. I might go and bump it since there's an influx of christmas smartphone owners asking about stuff. Personally, here are some recommendations. Launchers: Go Launcher EX (free) ADW Launcher (free, EX version has a few extra features, paid) Launcher Pro (free, paid version also available) Zeam Launcher (free) There are a number of other more specialised launchers around too, like Espier Launcher which mimics the iPhone. Of the ones listed, ADW Launcher is probably the most versatile (though I haven't used Launcher Pro so it may be more so), Go is the most polished/smoothest and Zeam is the lightest weight. Clocks: Beautiful Widgets (paid) mClock (free) Minimalist Text (free) All three of these apps are widget based and extremely customisable. mClock and Minimalist Text also have facilities for loading configs, so you can find a lot of prebuilt themes for them floating around. Web Browsers: Opera Mobile (free) Opera Mini (free) Opera Mobile gives you a full web experience and is recommended for use when you're on wifi. Mini uses some Opera magic to greatly compress webpages and usually directs you to a sites mobile version and is therefore recommended for browsing when you're using mobile internet. Cameras: FxCamera (free) Camera Zoom FX (paid) Pano (paid) FxCamera is the Android equivalent of Hipstamatic, CZFX is the best camera app on android and Pano takes great panorama shots. Other: Barcode Scanner (free) - great QR code reading app, handy if you download things from XDA regularly. WidgetLocker (paid) - Lockscreen replacement, very versatile, many, many themes available. Calendar Pad (free) - ugly but extremely functional calendar. Jorte (free) - another full featured calendar that's slightly prettier than Calendar Pad but less intuitive. Dropbox (free) - cloud syncing and storage. Dictionary.com (free) - Neat little dictionary app. Epistle (free) - extremely simple plaintext note taking app that can sync to Dropbox. G-Mon (free) - great Wardriving app. Google Chrome To Phone (free) - Chrome users only. Send links from your desktop browser to your phone over wifi or data, super handy. Google Translate (free) - Nifty as fuck. HandyCalc (free) - The best scientific calculator app on android imo. Tick! (free) - really simple rotary timer. SwiftKey X (paid) - Keyboard replacement. I prefer Swype over it, but loads of users swear by Swiftkey's uncanny predictive text. These are all very functional apps and there's not much razzle dazzle but it should be enough to get you all started. Looks like the original thread has fallen off the back of the forum, here's the new(-ish) one: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1130647
Flash
sgs2 comes with flash player (if that's what you're talking about)
So cos appslib is down and for some reason the android store wont let me download crap cos i don't have a device asociated with this account. (Fuck you! I'm using the device to sign in! Damit google, get your shit together!) All i want right now is skype for android. I could easily download it off a third party link (if i could find one) and install it that way. Heck i even tried to download it via my pc and transfer it over. But nope, you need a device associated with your accont to do so. Their solution to associate the account? Downlad an item from the store
Planning to get for myself a transformer prime
What music player would you guys recommend? Or is the default one fine.

Would I have to root my Note if I wanted to reduce (or is it increase?) the density? It's not something I plan to do the second I get the phone.
What the heck is root? I keep hearing people talk about it.
What the heck is root? I keep hearing people talk about it.
Its sort of like Jailbreaking an iphone except androids are already essentially jailbroken so you're double jailbreaking it.
