Android Thread V4 - Got money? Samsung Galaxy S II. No money? ZTE Blade.

I was wondering, has anyone else had problems with the Desire HD and the haptic feedback only working half the time? Mine recently decided to only give feedback on the keyboard and menu buttons below the screen, whereas before it would work for any button.
Standy. "Is WiFi generally tougher on the battery?" I have no idea what to answer on this, what do you even mean? Isn't that kinda obvious? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say.
Sorry, I mean using WiFi versus 4G for internet.
WiFi is easier on the battery than 3G.
I thought I had told my phone to no use WiFi if I wasn't connected but I guess it only does that if the battery is below a threshold I set.
Stock SGS2 uses more battery power than CM7?

Makes sense. Touchwiz isn't easy on resources.
I have the HTC HD2 now, running HyperDroid 2.1.0. I just saw that they unlocked the bootloader for the HTC Sensation. Should I upgrade, or wait until T-Mobile gets the Galaxy S II (if they get it)?

Yes it is? It's the least resource hungry manufacturer UI I've seen on an Android device. All touchwiz is is the twframework which just allows unification across their apps. It's not like motoblur or Sense where you need an entirely different rom to remove it.

Still heavier than CM7 in general. It's absolutely atrocious on the Captivate.

The captivate is an atrocious phone running froyo with touchwiz 3.0 with modifications requested by AT&T. If you're going to compare something at least own the device with the proper version of it.
Also obviously it is heavier than CM7, but it's no heavier than even running launcherpro.
Am I the only one that found the number of modifications in CM7's visuals a bit over the top?
Most certainly, yes.
I can get a used SE Xperia X10 for 150 euros. Seems to be in perfect condition. Is it worth it? I've been looking for an Android phone for quite some time and I'm really low on budget as you can see.
Netflix sideloading on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 whaddup.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: No, no, never, not unless it's free.
For anyone living in the US.

That's a pretty epic deal. You could end up with a $299 transformer or iconia. Or a $199 dell streak 7.

Tomorrow Bell is releasing the SGSII, I hope they will have it in stock in my city or I'll need to wait a few more days.
Maybe against an iphone 3GS. It's physically impossible for that Nexus one with no gpu accelerated rendering to look smoother than a hummingbird based SoC with an SGX 535.
Now if you compare the Nexus S to the iphone 4, the nexus S is smoother. But you can't possibly say that comparing nexus devices is comparing Android general smoothness to iOS. Until google starts BANNING these custom UIs and bloatware then the standard will be each specific release from an OEM vs WP7 and iOS.
It was an iPhone 4, Launcher Pro Plus on my phone is smooth as butter, with a 5x5 grid too

That's why I love CM7 though!
Wow! Are those the only three they sell?
Nope. Those were just examples of low prices you could achieve.
Nope. Those were just examples of low prices you could achieve.
Anything lower?
Does anyone own a Droid 3? I'm about to buy one and I want to see what you guys think about it. So is it worth buying? Also I'm getting the deal for 2 droid 3's for $200. My sister an I are splitting it. So is it a good deal for 100 bucks?
I'm eligible for a free upgrade on AT&T. What Android should I get?

I've heard that the Droid 3 is pretty good. A little bit of disappointment from some, but it's due to not improving as much as they'd like from the Droid 2, not due to a lack of features. I've never personally used a Droid 3, but from my experience with the previous ones in the line, I'd say go for it.

It got pretty good reviews on Verizon. I think I'll go for it

Nevermind, I went looking through the ones they have and I didn't really see any I liked. Plus none of the were free-upgrades.
Also does anyone know if Motorola will give the Droid 3 video skype capabilities in the future?

XDA will probably make a modded apk for it. I've video chatted on my SGS a couple times now.
T-minus 10 hours until Galaxy S2 time :)
On a semi-related topic of Android, I found the spotify app and I am interested. Does anyone have it now, and if so, is it worth getting premium for offline music, is the app actually good, and if yes, could you PM me about an invite?
I'm willing to give a spare copy of Terraria if so, if you want it.
