I won't lie though, the first design would be awesome, if possible. Would be better if it weren't a simple box with a screen on it though.
Just flashed to ICS 4.0.3 today. The new UI is very slick, and the OS is very responsive. New features are nice. Sliding notifications away, one of my favorite CM features, is now built-in. The settings menu has been rearranged and improved, and I noticed some nice minor tweaks (you can slide unlock straight to camera, you can pulldown notifications without slide unlock (I imagine this is because I have no PIN yet).
So far I like it.
I'm still waiting for official ICS for my Nexus S, some bastards are already running it (officialy ofcourse) ...
Is there any way of tethering a device to your phone's 3g/4g without paying the rediculious fine?

PDANet or an encrypted proxy.
Except the regulator used in new Samsung phones doesn't require calibration. So it won't.
This is partially true in saying it doesn't require proper calibration.
Also @Mr. Smartass
Barnacle wifi teather is my favourite for that.
When using gameboid, or any gameboy emulator, It automatically uses texture filtering (blurring it to make it look "better")
How to disable?

Fuck no I am going to treat my Galaxy S2 like a lady (minus staying in the kitchen and making me sandwiches) until it completely dies.
The anniversary edition of Grand Theft Auto III is quite simply magnificent. It truly is a mark of how far technology has advanced in the last ten years. And in true Android fashion, GTA III can be customised with just a tiny little bit of work.
It turns out that modifying the Android version of the game is in fact as simple as modifying the PC version. By adding files to the directory on the SD card. As an added bonus, it turns out the PC and Android versions of the game are so similar, that many PC modifications actually work on the Android version so you can soup up your cars and add custom textures to your heart's content.
Hit the source link for more information if you fancy a go, and check out one happy modifiers video after the break.
exactly after 15 days of having my second S2 (I could return the phone within 14 days without questions asked or any problems etc), I noticed the home button looked like it was falling apart. I was SO mad until I noticed that it was the protective foil. :v:
That happened to me with my mini Pro back in September, I thought the camera glass was falling off, I found out that it was the protective film.
Wow, that was a super fail durpy moment... :v:

I treat mine like shit.
Then again, it's encased in a Ottherbox.
I'm generally horrible at taking proper care of things so it needs to be durable.

Better be with dedicated server support.
3GB on T(hird Reich)-Mobile, at £10 a month. A one-off charge of £35 for the world's worse phone. and 100mins/texts (+ a booster).
Trouble is, they changed their terms to just 500MB, so I'm not sure what to do when my contract is up. I want to know if I can renew it, get a reduced monthly payment instead of a new phone (you can do this and I am getting a new phone) and still keep the 3GB cap, as changing it would count as a breach of contract?
If I can't I'll just use giffgaff, but I'd like to keep my contract, as it would be cheaper and more convenient (having an actual contract instead of topping up and then stacking goodie bags).
So I've got XWKK5 with Siyah kernel 2.6.2 (Thanks PyroCF!*), ICS transition animations and rotation from Galaxy Note, I'm starting to love Android modding :v:
* PyroCF: is there anything I should do after flashing the kernel? Any recommended edits to the CPU frequency and stuff like that? I just flashed the kernel and didn't touch anything.

get setCPU from xda-developers (free version, it's posted by the author himself) and overclock to 1.6 GHz if you want
you can also underclock, but do it in 25mV steps and test for stability everytime you lower the values
I also want the true CRT ON/OFF animations, but it seems that on samsung ROMs it flips the image upside down :/
mankind_me: 1.6GHz.. battery dead within 3 hours? :v: I'll go read about underclocking though, thanks.

no, it's perfectly fine if you don't force your phone to stay at 1.6GHz all the time (games, cpu-consuming apps or performance governor)
I love my grandfathered in unlimited plan.
I used 2GB in one night when I reformatted my computer and couldn't get internet access to work. I tethered with PDAnet to set literally everything up before I found out the problem was a motherboard driver that I needed to download.
on your phone? Lol, more people need to use their mobile phones unlimited Internet plan as their home Internet :v:
just got my new SD card put in, phone sees it fine and it's got great speeds for a class 6 (11MB/s write and 20.7 read, from 2.9 and 8.9 on my class 2) but now when i plug it into my PC i don't have the option to transfer files.

If it still works i'd just say deal with it if the refurbs are sketchy
Siyah Kernel, works with Samsung and AOSP ROMs
Is there any other phone I should consider other than the S2 and galaxy note? Nexus I sort of ruled out due to not expandable memory and the note looks more pleasing to me, just wondered if there's any other phones I should atleast look at.
I get paid tonight so will order before I go to bed.
The note, because you have the best excuse to use it. Anywhere. At school, some Institute? Excuse would be that your taking notes while your actually watching a movie on that gigantic 5.3 inch screen.

whats a AOSP rom? i feel like i should know this
whats a AOSP rom? i feel like i should know this
MIUI and CM7
ROMs made from the AOSP source code, and not made by customising/tweaking an official ROM for that phone model
