my girlfriends dad won't let her root her phone (it got brought up in a conversation) incase she "breaks it" and it will "cost money to repair it"

He also has a HTC desire HD and has not changed it since buying it, and lets it sit on charge on the sideboard all day

I know it shouldn't, but I hate it when tech disabled people get hold of technology..

I wouldn't root her phone then. If something completely unrelated breaks you'll get blamed for it.

My friend wanted my to jailbreak his iPod touch, and I did. For some reason he couldn't use Installous on his router, and his dad thought I had broke it :v:

I hate that, you do some simple improvement to somebodies tech such as install mozilla firefox instead of IE, and then something unrelated stops working for whatever reason they act like you broke it

smartassv2 doesn't seem to be very gaming friendly. my fps is almost cut in half in GTA3. Have to keep switching to ondemand before I play a game and revert back to smartassv2 when I'm done.

Whats the best app if you lose your android phone?Preferably with a GPS feature, sound feature(if you lose it in your house), remote lock, make a message appear on the screen and such.Also I don't really plan on paying

Can anybody find an extended battery for a Galaxy Nexus (LTE)? Verizon's not selling them and I can't find any online.

Currently I'm trying out "android lost" and it can say a message out loud, take pictures, record, call someone, get a call list, send sms-es and loads of stuff.It also has all the things other apps like that have such as find via gps etc.
But I'm not sure how safe it is, does anyone use this?

What's the best CPU-benchmark-program out there? It seems that I can OC my Huawei U8800 (Ideos X5) up to 1,8gHz and I'd like to know what it's really capable of. I've already tried BenchmarkPI, did it in 590 milliseconds.

-larger screen by like half an inch
-the stylus
-physical buttons to press, not virtual on the screen (which I tried and hated)
-I just got larger pockets and it will fit a note, the nexus would just juggle around in it
-microSD card expansion so I can stuff more movies, games and shit in it
-I can show it off more since it's larger
-I have the better excuse to use it in class (taking notes with stylus when I'm actually playing Angry Birds)

All I'd want is a a SAMOLED+ HD screen, a slide out keyboard and (nearly) no bezel.
And less realistic: Camera with wider angle lense, zero shutter delay, optical zoom and better quality in low light conditions.
