I would do some reading before flashing again to prevent more issues. Also JVP is fine. I only recomment JVQ because it was more recently released than JVP.

Stop modding your phone until you understand what you're doing, leave it as it is. so whats the best android phone out there right now?
GOT IT INSTALLED Thank you Garrynohome for the help
garrynohome, yoou having a bad day or are you usually this much of an ass to everyone? I was giving advice based on what I found online. I completely forgot about Odin. Plus, I wasnt giving definitive advice, hence the "may."
If I would like to install , for example CM7 , should I just install it from zip ( in recovery)
You having a bad day or are you usually this much of an ass to everyone?
Sorry , just a really bad evening
so whats the best android phone out there right now?
I don't know. Perhaps the title of the thread would shed some light. Ok ok it's the Galaxy S II, but it isn't in the US at the moment.
I was reading a blog recently, where somebody from the United States was commenting on how come Bell Canada is launching the Galaxy S II in North America before a US carrier. Somebody from Samsung simply said, 'Because the carrier worked more closely with us to get it done.'
-Paul Brannen from Samsung
Sorry , just a really bad evening
I think he's talking to me. He's depressed because his advice could have ended up in you sending your phone back, and he got called on it.
I actually installed a base JVP and then Darky's mod on top of it
That makes more sense. Just a heads up Darkys is one of the worst Galaxy S roms ever made. It's sluggish because Darky added a bunch of useless crap that even he never uses. And it contains conflicting things such as a kernel based ram script followed by flashing a separate one.

I just have completely no experience of dealing with custom roms , sorry
Take a look at Rom Kitchen. They're so much faster than anything Darky has ever put out.
And will my data be saved?
Can I just install CM7 from Recovery then? [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
And will my data be saved?
You'll need to use titanium backup.

superstepa. Continue this through PM/profile comments. It's just making needless clutter.
garrynohome, yoou having a bad day or are you usually this much of an ass to everyone? I was giving advice based on what I found online. I completely forgot about Odin. No respectable source would say "you can access download mode but are getting bootloops. SEND IT IN FOR REPAIRS!" [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline]
So I have a bit of a problem with my Nexus S. Ever since I flashed NSCollab, it has been addicted to going into H instead of 3G for a lot of the time. 3G connectivity works just fine, and it's nice and fast. But occasionally for no reason (signal is not weak) it will drop to H and my download speeds plummet. It's fucking annoying. I've already visited the diagnostics menu and made sure it was on US band and set on CDMA/GSM (auto) so I'm out of ideas. Maybe the radio the ROM flashed is causing this shit? How could CM7 be having a compatibility issue with Rogers? I'd think it would be more well known, but it isn't. Usually going into airplane mode and out makes it go back to 3G. But still, it's annoying as hell using my phone to tether and suddenly the internet being super slow because it decided to be a faggot and go to H. I have a Nexus S on Rogers in Canada, by the way.
H means HSPA 7.2Mbps, 3G is the 3.6Mbps HSPA. So you're complaining that your device is receiving faster data speeds? You won't get slower speeds when you're on H. [editline]22nd July 2011[/editline] Ok back on topic. Well more on topic than we were anyway. AT&T has announced the Nexus S, unfortunately they're seven months too late and the next Nexus device is already being expected. 2.3.3 has been leaked for the G2. Could any G2 owners let us know how you like the update? Finally. 2.3.3 has been released for the Bell Canada HTC Incredible S.
is the DROID 3 a good android phone? ive seen other people like it.
is the DROID 3 a good android phone? ive seen other people like it.
I've heard it's a great phone. The full qwerty keyboard is definitely a plus as well.
Guys , Darky's rom is having so much useless stuff in it . Do not install it , listen to garrynohome.
How do people even justify buying a blackberry anymore? Who the fuck decided the torch was worth as much as the SGS II?

I've tried it out many times and can't say that I enjoyed it much.

Who the fuck decided the torch was worth as much as the SGS II?
I am actually pretty terrified of the amount of blackberry phones in Canada. EVERYONE have them , and I have only seen two SGSes
I am actually pretty terrified of the amount of blackberry phones in Canada. EVERYONE have them , and I have only seen two SGSes
Everybody in my school has them, though people are steadily switching to Android and iPhones, hell, I've even seen some webOS phones. I guess they don't really want the multimedia/web browsing/app utilities, they just want to be able to contact each other, which Blackberries really are quite good at. And if you want a keyboard phone that you can use one handed in a desk...
I am actually pretty terrified of the amount of blackberry phones in Canada. EVERYONE have them , and I have only seen two SGSes
That's because it's Canada. Most of my friends have Android devices. A few have iPhones. Most, if not all of the girls I know with smartphones have Blackberries.
I don't get it, did the SGS2 release in the US or something? I don't see it on sprint.com, and I'm about to make a purchase of the EVO 3D. Just wondering, what do you guys think, EVO 3D or SGS2. I know the SGS2 is a tad faster, but I quite like the refined sense 3.0 on htc, and I've heard Samsung isn't very good with getting timely updates out.
