Damn the AT&T HTC Aria is lucky to have such an easy and straightforward tool to root it and put a custom recovery on it. A friend of mine picked one up and didn't like sense, but liked Cyanogenmod 7 (which is what i have)
Didn't take nearly as long as doing all that shit on my Optimus T
edit: talking about unrEVOked
is the DROID 3 a good android phone? ive seen other people like it.
Dang, there's already a DROID 3 now? Man, when I upgrade, its feel like going from a motor scooter to a Mercedes.
I've got a long way to go yet.

The keyboard on it is great for a phone, but it's got a locked bootloader. So if you don't care about modding at all it's probably good.
Honestly can a blackberry do anything special?
They're pretty solidly built, and most users will swear by the keyboard, but other than that, no.
Besides the hugely inflated price point.
I don't get it, did the SGS2 release in the US or something? I don't see it on sprint.com, and I'm about to make a purchase of the EVO 3D. Just wondering, what do you guys think, EVO 3D or SGS2. I know the SGS2 is a tad faster, but I quite like the refined sense 3.0 on htc, and I've heard Samsung isn't very good with getting timely updates out.
The US will probably be getting the SGS2 sometime in the next month or so. I'd wait for it. I was gonna get an Atrix back in April, but I'm glad I held off for the SGS2.
Dropped my HTC EVO on the gym floor today, the entire screen is full of scratches. The touch screen still works and I'm posting from it right now.
I really can't express in words how awesome it is to browse the net on my new phone after dealing with mY piece of shit windows mobile 6.5 phone since last april.
Feels good man.

Whenever I get a device like this I make sure to cover it in all kinds of protection including screen protectors in cases. I don't care how the outside of a device looks, I just care about it's hardware and how it performs.
superstepa. Continue this through PM/profile comments. It's just making needless clutter.
What? What are you reading? No respectable source would say "you can access download mode but are getting bootloops. SEND IT IN FOR REPAIRS!"

H means HSPA 7.2Mbps, 3G is the 3.6Mbps HSPA. So you're complaining that your device is receiving faster data speeds? You won't get slower speeds when you're on H.

Ok back on topic. Well more on topic than we were anyway.
AT&T has announced the Nexus S, unfortunately they're seven months too late and the next Nexus device is already being expected.
2.3.3 has been leaked for the G2. Could any G2 owners let us know how you like the update?
Finally. 2.3.3 has been released for the Bell Canada HTC Incredible S.
Doesn't make much sense. When I'm using my phone for tethering and the internet suddenly turns to shit speeds, it is because it went to H instead of 3G. Speedtest even confirmed it; I get a fraction of the speed of 3G with H.
Anyway, would be cool if I could force it to only use 3G. I know for sure that H never shows up on stock ROMs.
Got the HTC Sensation today, and I'm loving it (upgraded from the piece of shit Gravity 2). I'd like to know what the "best way" to take care of the battery and dealing with data usage and the such would be. For example, is it best to charge the phone while it's completely off, or does it matter if it's just not in use while being charged but still on? As for data usage, is 5GB/month considered a lot or am I going to have to manually change when and when not to use data?
Is it possible to get sense 3.0 on a SGS2?
I have a galaxy s2 and a zte blade. where do I fit in? :v:
Droid 3 is absolutely the best Android phone I've ever used, unfortunately it's not LTE so if that's a deal breaker, just wait it out for the inevitable Droid 3 4G edition.
I just got the Acer Iconia A500 yesterday. What resolution images do I need for full screen, non-clipped, not-blurry HD wallpapers? Does anyone know of a wallpaper switching application that actually works? WallSwitch doesn't work on Honeycomb, and the developer doesn't support the app anymore.
My Optimus 2x finally received the third update that was due in May.
What annoys me is that they do not publish changelogs. Would've been nice to see what the update actually does.

This guide should help you out, the template certainly helped me make a wallpaper that at least looked nice in landscape (when put it in portrait I just need to put up with black bars, not that I ever do)

HTC Wildfire S - is it any good?
I'm thinking of buying either that, or Sony Ericson X8 or Samsung Galaxy Ace.
Which should I get?
Isn't the Wildfire S pretty much the Wildfire with a bigger price tag?

I don't know, but that's what I want to know.
That's because it's Canada. Most of my friends have Android devices. A few have iPhones. Most, if not all of the girls I know with smartphones have Blackberries.
Ha! Compare it with India. EVERYONE USES ONE. Literally.
Nobody answered me. :c I want an Android tablet, is the viewsonic gTablet any good? I'd probably put honeycomb on it

Its cheap, why not?
Nobody answered me. :c I want an Android tablet, is the viewsonic gTablet any good? I'd probably put honeycomb on it
It's a piece of shit. Go to Staples and use the $100 off coupon (Google it) and get the Acer Iconia A500. $299 out the door.

Well I heard the drawbacks of the gTablet are pretty much software-based so if I put like VEGAn-Tab on it, or something else, maybe it'd be worth it.
Well I heard the drawbacks of the gTablet are pretty much software-based so if I put like VEGAn-Tab on it, or something else, maybe it'd be worth it.
Acer makes a much better tablet, and there is more XDA-based support behind it. Drop the extra couple bucks and get that.
Looks like Office Depot has the EEE Pad Transformer for $299 with a similar deal. I'd like a keyboard to sit down with. Would that be better or should I just get the Iconia?

Which has better XDA support? Looks like the Iconia ships with a bluetooth keyboard...
Which has better XDA support? Looks like the Iconia ships with a bluetooth keyboard...
I didn't get a keyboard with mine. But right now, the Iconia does. Rooting is easy as hell to do. Also, instead of CWM you can download Acer Recovery from the Market. Much more streamlined.
