i am posting from a sgsII but i dont really think its built-in browser is that quick or as functional as dolphin browser [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] Got all the functions of the default browser + alot more... and it has addons
The transformer is better than the iconia. The iconia uses a TN panel while the Transformer uses an IPS one. The screen is not the place to cut costs and ACER made that mistake. Unless of course you REAAALLLLYYY need to plug in USB devices. People can't do it with the ipad and they're content. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] Not really. I assume your earlier post was showing that you were posting from an SGS II. The SGS II hardware accelerated browser is the fastest browser you can find. Renders the webpages on the mali-400.
Yeah I've been looking up reviews of the Transformer and it's better overall. IPS is super gorgeous and everywhere I see, everyone says the build quality is fucking amazing. Not liking the pricetag on the dock but of course it's an accessory and I don't have to get it right away.
Hey americans, guess what im posting from anyways, everyone should use dolphin browser its so much faster than other browsers on android and has lots of functionality based on webkit just makes it even better because its like chrome
Android browser on Honeycomb is superior to Dolphin HD.
Android browser on Honeycomb is superior to Dolphin HD.
Isn't it basically Chrome on Honeycomb?
Ok functionality is different than it being "faster".
you know, i just tried loading the control panel on fp theres like this really small difference on loading the full webpage, the inbuilt browser is slightly faster, but barely noticable
Isn't it basically Chrome on Honeycomb?
Exactly.
Few things I miss from stock Samsung ROM after I have been on CM7 for a week. -Vlingo (TTS) -Samsung's voice command and recognition -Browser
okay... builtin browser is quick on loading pages but it takes a long time to fully load the whole page
okay... builtin browser is quick on loading pages but it takes a long time to fully load the whole page
Smoother when scrolling and that too.
cache loaded, quicker now.... i dont know what to use now lol [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline]
Smoother when scrolling and that too.
ye... heelp
So... much... free... RAM... Im used to 1mb of free ram at any given time, but this is like pure freedom.
i have this strange bug on the inbuilt browser i load a webpage and it loads... but as soon as i try to scroll through the webpage the whole page goes blank and it wont come back to normal unless i reload the page, but even then it wont work from time to time anyone know anythig about this? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] just reminded me that this is one of the reasons i switched browser in the first place
So what Android tablets do you guys have? Mine is the Acer Iconia A500 running Android 3.1, rooted. Haven't flashed any custom ROM's to it yet.

When we get a quad core tablet with a 2560x1600 display then I'll be convinced they're serious products.

Hopefully you weren't serious with that statement.

Do your research before you start making posts. If I'm going to have a tablet it's going to have some serious hardware in it, not some WXGA display and a 1GHz dual core.

Enjoy your wait. If you don't like "fads," why are you posting in an Android thread? Seems like a fad to me.
Ok then. Enjoy your wait. If you don't like "fads," why are you posting in an Android thread? Seems like a fad to me.
Android has been on devices since 2008 and has steady growth three years later. That's a platform that has proven itself. I never directly claimed that tablets were a fad, I know they have good uses. But I'm waiting until they mature to pick one up. If they fall to the roadside then I won't be stuck with a $600 device that was only popular for a short time. Take my advice. Do research before posting, if you had then you wouldn't have claimed the Android OS is just a fad.
I never directly claimed that tablets were a fad

I don't buy into fads
What? Also, do research before I post? I was posting a fucking demographic-type post. Don't be so critical.
What? Also, do research before I post? I was posting a fucking demographic-type post. Don't be so critical.
I don't buy into fads. So I wait until a product has proven itself. I never said "tablets are a fad". I said I don't allow myself to buy products that die off quickly. Also keep slamming the dumb rating. Hope it makes you feel better about failing to make my post about screen resolution seem ridiculous.

You were pretty hypocritical in those statements.

You were pretty hypocritical in those statements.
The problem with this post is that it tries to base the argument on my spec ideas being far fetched. We have a WQXGA display and a quad core chip that supports WQXGA both going into mass production before the end of 2011. So how are they far fetched? I'm not limiting my purchase by money. The specs can be done and the price won't exceed what buyers are used to paying for premium products so it doesn't matter anyway.

I like buying new things every few months. So, we digress; what tablets does everyone have?
I have in my hands the Samsung sch-i405 (Epic 4G) for verizon. Not out yet, as I am using the demo model. It's pretty nice.
I'm about to just spend the 15 minute walk to Office Depot and buy a EEE Pad. For $300... I mean... I spent that much on my iPod...
I'm about to just spend the 15 minute walk to Office Depot and buy a EEE Pad. For $300... I mean... I spent that much on my iPod...
Get the Asus dude. USB-A port! You can use USB drives!
Get the Asus dude. USB-A port! You can use USB drives!
You mean Acer? I'd love to get that but everywhere I go I see that the Asus is better. Gorilla Glass, IPS, sturdier frame... I'd get 2 USB ports when I inevitably buy the keyboard dock.
Acer. Yes. My bad.
Either way everywhere I go I see the Asus is better except in the camera and XDA support departments, and I probably won't do anything more than root it anytime soon.
