It re-adds the crap that comes with the phone.
Make a new backup then or don't restore them?!? Wait, you mean the ROM adds it?
Make a new backup then or don't restore them?!? Wait, you mean the ROM adds it?
I think he means the ROM update re adds stock apps that he removed.
What device?
SGSII.
Make a new backup then or don't restore them?!? Wait, you mean the ROM adds it?
Well I have been trying out every new update that has been uploaded recently. KF7/KF3/KG1/KG and now KG3. All of them re-added samsung bloatware. [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] Ahh, maybe I should learn to explain myself better :P.

The only apps that could possibly be considered bloat are the hubs. And that's like four apks.

Well I don't really use anything that comes with the phone since there are better external apps for that. What ones are you talking about btw? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] Well if don't use them I don't see why I should have them there.
Pretty much this. They don't slow the phone down at all. I miss all of them expect the hubs on CM7.
Actually I do find the one hub useful, social hub. Because I keep it in the app tray so I can access gmail, hotmail, facebook, MSN and my SMS messages all in one app. [editline]24th July 2011[/editline]
Well I really use anything that comes with the phone since there are better external apps for that. Can you please show us your superior alternative to polaris office? Kies Air removed the need for me to use my USB cable to transfer files. The only apps that I can see as bloat are the hubs and Samsung apps. You made quite the overstatement saying you remove 50 items when it should be more like 4 apks. Hell even if you removed every apk you see on the launcher you wouldn't remove 50 items.
Didn't even think of Polaris.
I ripped the SGSII DSPManager out of the CM7 nightly as it was a pain to find the right one that actually works. You can find it here. or the QR Code: Tip: For the speaker turn bass boost to extreme and all EQ bars full except the 2nd last one. Sound should be clearer.
Is their unlimited really unlimited? Or is it fair use?
It's unlimited but you aren't allowed to use it for tethering or devices that aren't smartphones like netbooks or 3G modems (shh) Also whoever you are if you ordered a SIM you're fucking awesome
Flashed my first custom ROM to my Acer Iconia A500 a bit ago. Overclocked to 1.6ghz. Super fast. Loving it so far.

You owe it to yourself to try riptide THD if you own a Tegra 2 product. So I'm thinking. KAL-EL can run at 1.5GHz. What if it could possibly be clocked up to 2GHz when it releases? A phone/tablet with a 2GHz quad core would be the most beast mobile device ever.

Riptide eh? Is it free?
It's all kernel based. Come up with your own kernel, and release it on XDA. People will bow before you. Riptide eh? Is it free?
I know it's kernel based. But I mean in terms of stability. The chip needs to run stable at a higher frequency. Riptide GP costs a bit, but it's definitely worth it. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.vectorunit.blue [editline]25th July 2011[/editline] Can't wait for games built to run on KAL-EL. Glowball looks so amazing. [editline]25th July 2011[/editline] Also I forgot to post this before. Oh wait your chips lose in every way possible, nevermind.
Yeah I think 1.6 is about the max for the Tegra 2. Unless I'm mistaken?
Someone with a really good binned SoC might be able to push it higher, but I doubt it would apply to many people. Currently yes I think 1.6GHz is the max supported by OC kernels.
1.8 or 1.9 might be absolute max for this chip, not a big difference to be honest. 2.2 or so would be insane.
I'll guarantee only a small minority of the chips can reach 1.9GHz. That's almost a 100% overclock. What we should be working on is seeing how fast the gpu can go, not just the cpu.
The speeds we're working with are circa 1960. Cooling is what we need to focus on.
I'm pretty sure we didn't have processors that neared the 1GHz mark in 1960.
Anyone got a good tethering app, free (I have rooted), thats more or less undetectable by phone networks? Got a Samsung Galaxy SL GT-I9003
I'm pretty sure we didn't have processors that neared the 1GHz mark in 1960.
This. Super computers in the 1960s rival... modern calculators at best.
Anyone got a good tethering app, free (I have rooted), thats more or less undetectable by phone networks? Got a Samsung Galaxy SL GT-I9003
Android Wifi Tether works fine, but the rest has to do with your phone and network. I don't think you can get an app that just lets you tether as much as you want just because you're rooted. For example, my contract says I have to pay extra to tether on my device. To get around that, I have to freeze/remove an app that tracks data usage, but I still have to make sure I don't use too much because they'll yell at me even if they can't tell I'm tethering. You have to look into your situation.
So far 1.7GHz is the maximum for the Tegra 2, courtesy of Tiamat. I got it running on my Xoom and it's fucking nuts.
Also whoever you are if you ordered a SIM you're fucking awesome
Soon
Also whoever you are if you ordered a SIM you're fucking awesome
Yeah, that was me. Might as well give it a try. I switched to o2 a week ago anyway for more internet, and this switch looks easier than orange to o2. I do have another question though: Does the goodie bag take the credit away or does it stay?
Does anyone know what's good to save battery on my ZTE Blade?

I'm paying an arbitrary £5/month cost for my unlimited mobile internet (included in most packages now) so I'll damn well use it.
I find Barnacle to be good. I used the inbuilt wifi tether for a day and my number got barred. Looks like barnacle works then!
Also, guys, go try cordy. its an android version of little big planet.
