Ok, so I've got a question.
Let's say, I get this: http://www.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_TF101/#specifications.
Is it possible, in any way, shape, or form, to program/compile C++/Java applications? Or perhaps run Windows on it? Just curious.
Get a netbook.
Windows has absolutely no ARM support, and no modder can change that.
Windows 8 is going to have ARM-support but it's going to take bloody forever for Windows 8 to come out.

Really guys? I saw it happen yesterday for gods sake! Quit the bullshit! Also the sensation launched on Bell for anyone wanting it.
I just use my leftover iPhone sock. Best protection ever, protects all ports, cleans the screen and is pretty damn shock resistant as well. You get the nice feeling of having a slim and untouched phone aswell.
[editline] [/editline] Cheap too.
Theoretically possible, but you would have to install Ubuntu on it. There's very little info available about that, and I don't know if it's been done with 100% success.

Not worth it
Well it's been proven that you can install the ARM version of Debian on a Android device.

Though it's not something for the tech-illiterate or faint of heart.
Windows has absolutely no ARM support, and no modder can change that.
Windows Embedded does.
Windows Embedded does.
But Windows Embedded is a pile of shit. It wasn't very well built, I've seen it used in Sat-Navs and they were terribly implemented.
My SGS's data/charge port has a bent pin :( Getting a quote from Samsung for the repair as well as a reputable third party repair firm.
Just put cynanogen V7 on my HTC HD2 :D

There isn't exactly a wide variety of ways to flash a ROM.
SNIP DOUBLE POST???
Hmm..
2005 - Sony Ericsson K500i
2006 - Sony Ericsson K750i <-- Best SE phone
February 2009 - iPhone 3G
November 2010 - HTC Desire
Right now I'm waiting for new Kal-El tablets, and really want to try Windows Phone 7 (although I'm not planning on leaving Android for it).
Those of you who have been patiently waiting for the highly-anticipatedSamsung Galaxy S II to launch across the U.S. might be disappointed to hear this, but at least one of the North American versions of the smartphone, the AT&T-bound Samsung Attain in particular, will most likelydrop the 1.2GHz Exynos chipset in favor of NVIDIA's Tegra 2 silicon. That is what became apparent after a Galaxy S II variant listed by its GT-I9103 model name was spotted at the FCC with support for AT&T's frequencies.
The FCC filing itself does not reveal much in terms of the smartphone's internal specs, but a quick check in GLBenchmark's database shows a Samsung-made device with the same GT-I9103 model name sporting a Tegra 2 chipset. This, of course, is not the first time when we hear about a Tegra 2-powered Samsung Galaxy S II being under development,
but now we have enough evidence to believe that the said smartphone will be marketed in the U.S.
Well, the Tegra 2 chip still packs more than enough processing power to handle almost anything that you would throw at it, but our benchmarks showed thatSamsung's Exynos silicon has the upper hand. Nevertheless, would this make you have second thoughts and go with a different superphone instead of the U.S.-tailored Samsung Galaxy S II? Feel free to let us know by dropping a comment below.
Ahaha. Losers. Even Canada got exynos.
There isn't exactly a wide variety of ways to flash a ROM.
I understand that. But you're simply denying that you're causing the issue. It's not like the rom is flawed for your device. It's either you flashing it wrong, or your hardware is faulty.

What's so bad about tegra 2. You get to download games from tegrazone. Which other phones can't play.
Also slightly off-topic but what's so bad about Bada? The samsung OS. And OP, will update list of phones this weekend.

Wrong. Chainfire3D lets you play any Tegra 2 game you want.
What's the cheapest device that supports HD video playback and USB host (or an SD card slot)? The Archos 32 would be perfect but it can only play DVD-quality video.
Although I'm posting here, I'm fine with any OS although the cheapest devices will probably run Android anyway.

I9103 has an LCD screen iirc
Also the OP has Flash's approval now.
Odd. So I just flashed stock images of 3.0.1 on my Xoom. It boots up to stock 3.0.1. Funny, it won't find any of my Wi-Fi networks, and Wi-Fi won't even turn on. Uh oh. I go to system information and look at kernel.
Tiamat.
How the hell did it only start working now and how do I go back to stock kernel?

Asus Transformer is $399 and supports smooth HD playback, mini-HDMI out, and mini-SD card. You can have USB 2.0 and full SD card support with the keyboard dock, which runs at $149 (sounds expensive but it adds the ports, plus an extra 6-8 hours of battery life).
I'm using one right now and loving it. Best part is with uPnPlay plus Mobo player apps I've got it set up to stream any video or music file on my main PC to my TF from anywhere in the house. If I'm playing a really weirdly formatted filetype or a DVD that has specific subtitles/tracks I need to play, I can simply use the remote desktop app that comes with it to watch. And, it works rather well too. Remote desktop's not good for games or interactivity (though I hear it can work good for mouse only games like Civ5), but works great for movies.

Thanks, but it's far too large and too expensive. I google'd around a bit and it looks like the Archos 43 is exactly what I'm looking for. It's only 50€ more expensive than the 32 and supports HD video playback.
What do you guys think about it?

So he'll take his mediocre rom over there and stop spreading his crap in the i9000 section. Good.
LOL I MAKE EVERYTHING GREEN AND THROW IN SOME APPS AND TAKE JUWES RAM SCRIPT. FASTEST ROM EVAR!
So the samsung galaxy s2 is coming out July 16th for Bell. I'm with Rogers and we won't be getting our version anytime soon.
So apparently Bell's not taking pre-orders at all for the Galaxy S2. Looks like I'll have to wake up at 7:30 and get my ass to a store if I want one.

Neat, hopefully they will not use it to just sue Apple, but to actually make better phones.
I really want to get a GSII but I'm not sure which UK carrier & contract to go with. Who has the best offer at the moment?

I'd personally recommend buying it sim free from Amazon or something and grab a SIM only contract.
If you want signal go with Vodafone or anything that uses their signal (talk mobile for example).

Rogers version will be Tegra 2, because they take the AT&T version. Must suck when your rival carrier has the AMOLED and Exynos exclusive to themselves.

Maybe this will lead to good gpus in HTC devices.
Vodafone are good in the UK, I've never had any problems with them. Although I've got friends with Orange (great value), Three (great data) and o2 (they had the iPhone and never moved)
