This isn't an HTC device where you need an SD card. Unless all your music is encoded in FLAC then 16GB is plenty. iPhone users(the biggest app consumers) manage to fit all their crap into 16GB. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline] Then your bullshit insult is useless. That's flaming buddy.
Point 1: Some people enjoy having the additional space for storage, not everyone carries a flash drive or external HDD. Point 2: That is not flaming. Him calling me dumb is flaming. I was speaking to his insult, not him. Stop it.

What have I started..
You guys linked him the i9023. That's the SLCD nexus S. The SAMOLED one is the i9020. [editline]4th August 2011[/editline]
What have I started..
You did the right thing. You recommended the superior device, and don't forget that.
I don't think UK has the SAMOLED one.
I don't think UK has the SAMOLED one.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Nexus-Google-Android-Smartphone-Free/dp/B004GYN58A/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312478994&sr=1-3 Description says it's the SAMOLED one. Ugh but that's the white one. Fuck.
It's also much more expensive
It's also much more expensive
Whatever. SAMOLED isn't worth double the price. I'd still take the SLCD one over a Desire S. Better cpu, gpu and constant updates. Superloz will have fun trying to get unofficial updates once support get dropped for his Desire S.
I don't think he ordered yet. Let's hope he gets the good phone.
Oh how I laughed and laughed only I wasn't laughing http://gizmodo.com/5826915/is-android-about-to-get-crushed?popular=true
Every phone has one.
iPhone. Besides the Nexus has NFC, which is a plus in my opinion.

Because a writer and an editor will always have bias towards the device in their pocket. I've given up on mainstream tech sites.

Well, who do you think the jailbreakers got it from? Samsung didn't steal rounded corners from apple, they got it from CIRCLES DUUUHHH.
I love the commenters.
Don't you know that features become important as soon as Apple starts doing them, and not a moment earlier?

Gizmodo hatin' on Apple direct competitor? Wow, never would have thought about it.
I opened this thread and felt like reading a "Macs vs PC's" flame in LMAO threads. I had to double check this was the android thread.
There are no reputable tech websites out there. Because a writer and an editor will always have bias towards the device in their pocket. I've given up on mainstream tech sites.
I've been banned from the Engadget comments for saying... "I only visit Engadget to see what the computer illiterate Macfags are blithering about, 'This is my next' has articles which look like they were actually written by an adult." They are a terrible tech blog anyway.
There are no reputable tech websites out there. Because a writer and an editor will always have bias towards the device in their pocket. I've given up on mainstream tech sites.
That isn't necessarily true. You just have to find writers who aren't so simple minded that they give into promotion and hype more than facts. I have a lot of friends who are writers and journalist and all through college I would see most of them swayed by hype more than anything. They could care less about actual things. If you are smarter than a rock then it is really easy to be able to spot differences between products. Especially with phones where you can look at a spec sheet. A writer who writes on moral issues and what not can't just look at a list of facts and say oh there is only one way to think about this. With technology you can clearly see what is better. It is literally written down... I think a lot of them are just morons. I hate to say that, but what else could it be? I have seen a review against the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy SII... Every "test" this guy did he had to praise Apple. He did one test where he showed browser speeds and the Galaxy beat the iPhone on every page he took it to. Between each page loading he had to comment about how great the iPhone really was. There was a huge difference between loading times and of course his response was, "As you can see the iPhone loads just as quickly as the Galaxy." Again, I think it comes down to people being complete morons.

Alright, you guys have made some strong points. Some better said than others, but yeah. Considering the Nexus S now. Thanks.
Wow that Gizmodo article, wow. Not only was it REALLY bias, but also lots of it was quite wrong, and obviously badly researched. Anyways, I have that 'new' feeling again with my SGS 2 as I just got back from 18 days without it. Feels good man
To everyone who said 16GB is enough: The Nexus S is still muuuuch better than the Desire S though.
My 8GB iPhone lasted 2 years without space running out, I think I'll be fine. Thanks for the input.

I just won a Facebook argument over how Android was better than iOS. The real killer for it was that after I showed the person reasons why it was better, he replied "ur just jealous bcuz u don't have an iPhone.". My reply? "I DO have an IPhone and android is better."
Thank you, your order has been placed. Thanks to all of you guys for your assistance, you've been a great help! My brand new Nexus should be here in a few days.
I'm a new Android/EVO 3D user and I don't see any need to root my phone. It's already a kickass gadget. Unless you guys think there's a good reason to do so.

Officially getting a Transformer once my internship is over. :quagmire:

Unless you guys think there's a good reason to do so.
If you like the stock software and none of the perks of rooting appeal to you, there's still a ton of amazing stuff you can do with a good android phone. I originally rooted to remove bloat, but when I saw app drawer categories in Gingerbread it seemed less useful. After using Moto's Gingerbread a little longer though, I switched to CM7 and I like it too much to go back to stock. I also like knowing I have tethering ready to go, and it provides other customization related options that I use.
