I''ve REALLY got to refrain myself from buying a Galaxy Tab 10.1 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-TAB-16GB-10-1-TABLET-10-1-/300570565123?pt=UK_iPad_Tablets_eReaders&hash=item45fb66da03#ht_4550wt_1139 That isn't helping!
I've installed kies - trying up upate the firmware. It acts like it's gonna - pops up a window, preparing firmware. The phone disconnects, reconnects, pops up another window "your phone has an updated firmware, install now?" and the whole thing happens again - except I have 2 windows preparing firmware update.
Kies is a peice of shit, once I was on a custom ROM I never looked back at it. One of my favourite ROMs is MIUI, it's very polished, stock MIUI looks a little similar to iOS however the extensive range of downloadable themes available for the phone can quickly change it to any look.
And Motorola.
Wasn't Motoblur notoriously horrible? Well fuck me and my sleep deprivation because I misread that. HTC Sense is a nice UI but it will take up more memory.
Wow, Google locked my Checkout access because I changed my fucking password. I fill in the form they give me, and instantly get this in my inbox: [editline]6th August 2011[/editline] And of course "This account is managed by silverblog.ru"... [editline]6th August 2011[/editline] So now I can't buy Android apps. What do?

Well I can't receive money with PayPal. So basically everyone fucked me over. And since this is Google, I can't talk to real people. I'm trying to use "contact us", but I keep getting it loops. [editline]6th August 2011[/editline] Contact us -> Can't sign in -> Troubleshooting guide -> General Troubleshooting guide -> Troubleshooting guide -> General Troubleshooting guide -> Troubleshooting guide -> General Troubleshooting guide -> Troubleshooting guide -> General Troubleshooting guide -> Troubleshooting guide -> General Troubleshooting guide -> Troubleshooting guide and repeat until infinity. [editline]6th August 2011[/editline] Google is great, but if you're having trouble with something, you are totally FUCKED
I feel bad for you, but it's funny because everyone told me paypal was the devil and that I should switch to google checkout.
Google checkout is the lesser of the evils. it's regulated unlike paypal.
Wasn't Motoblur notoriously horrible? Well fuck me and my sleep deprivation because I misread that.
Heh, iTunes.
It's the best music manager I ever used, sadly. I'd gladly take a look at a different one.
It's the best music manager I ever used, sadly. I'd gladly take a look at a different one.
Implying managing with itunes is better than manual drag and drop management.
I bought an samsung galaxy s2, and have some questions 1. I don't get any push notifications on things like twitter, facebook, email. Do I need to enable them some how? They only update when I enter the app.
Alternative clients like Tweetdeck show notifications, If there are new messages [editline]7th August 2011[/editline]
Seems like me and my dad are the only people who like HTC Sense.
LPsence Ui is really awesome It's basically Sence, based on the Launcher Pro's code

I've just never tried to, because I updated only using custom roms before
I was sure, you can update your phone from the settings? I've just never tried to, because I updated only using custom roms before
you won't be updating your phone very often, considering the last large phone release was gingerbread in december 2010 and manufacturers don't push out updates unless there's a critical issue with the firmware on your phone but if you were to receive an update that way it is like 99% of the time received ota and from about phone> check for update in settings
What's the best Android tablet? I don't care if it's expensive or if it's not released yet.
What's the best Android tablet? I don't care if it's expensive or if it's not released yet.
If you want portability, Galaxy Tab 10.1. Most 3.X tablets right now are the same tablet GPU/CPU wise, so the only real question is "How thick do you want your tablet?". I have an Iconia Tab, and its great with 3.2.

Missing apple's ease of use already.
What might be happening is your phone/tablet is seeing an "updated" (date modified = date today) zip called "update.zip" at your phone's root and assuming that is updated firmware. Possibly try deleting it and running the update again?
What's the best Android tablet?
What's the best Android tablet? I don't care if it's expensive or if it's not released yet.
Technically it isn't announced yet. It'll be a tablet using Nvidia's Kal-El chip and Samsungs WQXGA screen. But it might never actually exist so get the Galaxy Tab 10.1, or the Transformer if you create/edit a lot of documents.
How come there is no app drawer for MIUI?
How come there is no app drawer for MIUI?
Because it's meant to resemble iOS. All apps are on the same page layer, and it's shared with the widgets.
Because it's meant to resemble iOS. All apps are on the same page layer, and it's shared with the widgets.
Dammit, I want a minimalistic screen, not a cluttered one.
Then you don't want MIUI.
Or, as I've done, you just put them into folders. Works a treat while preserving MIUI.
Implying managing with itunes is better than manual drag and drop management.
Actually, that's exactly what I'm implying.
Didn't think getting Google Checkout to accept android payments was this easy. Either way, I'm now officially an Android Developer.
Actually, that's exactly what I'm implying.
If there's one reason why I love Android over iOS, it's the lack of iTunes. I agree that drag and drop isn't an ideal solution, which is why I've set up a playlist in foobar2000 that I can easily copy to my phone. So, so much better than iTunes - none of the hassle, none of the bloat, and it works how I want it to.
HTC Sense is the shit in terms of just pure UI usability IMO, but the CPU/RAM usage is a turnoff to some. I personally think that with the exploding processing power/RAM of smartphones it'll be invalidated in a few years, the same way Windows 7/Vista was thought to be bloated as fuck but people ended up having Aero enabled anyway.

I never found a good iTunes replacement, with stuff like metadata editing, smart playlists and etc.
