Just got my first Android phone! A HTC Legend. What do I do? Like, any good apps and such?
They still sell the HTC legend?
Could someone do me a favor and grab this app's apk for me? (and upload it somewhere) I can't download it, says something about incompatibility, a friend who has the exact same device could download it without any problem.
They still sell the HTC legend?
I have no idea, it's my dads old one.

so confused, some reviews give the SGace no camera flash, yet some do? can anyone confirm that it does have a flash?
so confused, some reviews give the SGace no camera flash, yet some do? can anyone confirm that it does have a flash?
Not sure, but does this answer your question? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6939816/turn-on-off-camera-led-flash-light-in-samsung-galaxy-ace-2-2-1-galaxy-tab
so confused, some reviews give the SGace no camera flash, yet some do? can anyone confirm that it does have a flash?
Just check if it has a flash when you buy it. No phone has a camera sensor good enough to make a flash worthwhile though.
Just check if it has a flash when you buy it. No phone has a camera sensor good enough to make a flash worthwhile though.
It's still useful as a flashlight if nothing more.
If you could still get it with a contract it'd be dirt cheap, unfortunately. What's your price range? Free to free? Shit, I was hoping it'd be sooner so I wouldn't have to give my dad tech support from school.
Like... $100 bucks, but I could spend a little more if I had to.
Incompatible with the SGS II aswell, but available on the Nexus S
It's compatible with my SGS II. I could download it normally from the market. Anyway, here's the APK: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1106779/com.secretexit.dismount-edb629eed0c1b3752e29fa39d4cfb47e.apk (if the link doesn't work, just wait a few minutes. It might still be downloading)

Samsung I9250 is so obviously the Nexus device leaked by BGR. Now I know some of you may be skittish about it being 4.65". But remember. If the buttons become on screen then the device won't grow larger. The screen will simply extend to the area that is normally taken up by the buttons we use on our phones today. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline] I would like to add that Samsung commented on the roadmap saying it would not be confirmed. But that sounds like typical PR response to leaked documents. Nexus device sounds very interesting.
Nexus device sounds very interesting.
May I ask what device you use at the moment? And adding onto that, do you use a custom rom?

Hey guys, bout to get my first android device in the coming weeks and i'm not sure which one to get, the droid 3 or the xperia play? Both are great phones, but the droid 3 has some stuff over the xperia play, but form-factor wise, i like the xperia play better, and it can be rooted and such while no such thing exist for the droid 3 so far, what do you guys suggest?

Play. Do you need the hardware keyboard? Do you want the dual core processor? Are you okay with MotoBlur? Droid 3.

The screen is dull and the build quality leaves much to be desired. Get the Droid 3 or the Droid X2.
Also, the Droid X2 does have root and clockworkmod already and should get (good) custom ROMs before too long.
Like... $100 bucks, but I could spend a little more if I had to.
:( Why are smartphones so expensive?
:( Why are smartphones so expensive?
Oh please. I buy all mine off contract for around $600 a piece, and you guys are complaining about the on contract prices? Even worse. Canadians pay the same subsidized prices as they do in the US for devices when they do buy on contract. But they're on three year contracts instead of two year ones.

I buy my phones in America Most expensive phones on 2 year contract (Only option available) are $200 and they go down in price very quickly, the original Galaxy S is free in most carriers now.

On T-mobile's site I see you can only do 2 year ones. I'm looking on Verizon's site right now and month to month is available with most if not all of their devices. AT&T's site also has no commitment options. Also the united states never received the "original galaxy s".
