I got a Samsung Captivate on AT&T for $19.99
I feel bad for you now :(
But the battery will fully charge even if the phone doesn't think so. Leave it in for awhile and see what the voltage tops out at.
How do I check that?
I need to root it for that anyway, and I don't have an adapter for my SD card so I can't make a goldcard.
After some research I might not need one, since my phone most likley is not locked to an operator.
Got my Samsung Galaxy SII three days ago.
Smartphone: 79,90€
Vodafone SuperFlat Internet: ~35€/month
My first android, it's awesome.

Your phone will probably have menu that lets you view extra phone/battery/network information, usually you get to it with a code in the dialer.
The battery calibration app will also tell you that, even if you don't have root yet.
Aaww yeah I'm down at firmware 1.31 now :D Rooting time!
Buying the deal i posted eariler... So excited!
Phone is rooted!
Can you recommend me good Java+Android tutorials?

Alright, I'm in Phuket! Still didn't find any Android stuff yet... I did see some fake ipods.
There aren't any fake android honeycomb tablets, as far as I know.

Dealing drugs?
Just got a Tmobile G2x today, and man I am so happy with it. Never had an Android phone, let alone a smart phone. This thing is just so slick too.
Oh god, I love the fake chinese knockoffs!

I just bought an EVO 3D and might sell it to get an ice cream sandwich device when they arrive.

If the Evo 3d was part of the new OSA contract, you'll be updated to ICS if the 3d supports it (which it almost certainly will).

Be careful when buying them. Most, if not all have the same 400MHz chip in it, which makes the tablet almost useless.
Gonna calibrate my battery, following this.
How do I mount /system and /data? I can't find any partitions menu :o

Just download a battery calibration app from the market, it deletes the .bin for you.

Unless you're only gonna use it as a E-book.
But yeah, cheap tablets uses cheap hardware.

I hope Ice Cream Sandwich gets ported to my blade :(
Hm, I have to have a fully charge battery to calibrate, and I can only get it to 71%, which is about 3968mV. I've been charging and I've been stuck at that point for about 1.5 hours now so... What can I do?

Full charge is around 4200mV, so I'd say you're close enough. Isn't there an option to force calibration?

Yes there is, was just unsure about doing it.
[editline]14th August 2011[/editline]
What the hell, it says "Calibration failed, make sure device is rooted!" and it is rooted.

Did you click allow always on superuser prompt?
Yes
Yes
Only other thing I can think of is BusyBox, but you probably already have that installed.
Never heard of it
For learning to develop for Android, I'd first have a firm understanding of Java, I did this by getting the book Head First Java, which is a pretty decent book, works through all of the theory with practical examples, then it helps you into your first project, then look into a more Android specific book.

Okay I got Busybox from the market now, but when I try to install it, it says "failed, your device is not nand rooted blah blah failed to mount"
What do I do?
