I love Ubermusic for it's Metro UI. Untill Ice Cream Sandwich comes along and impresses me with its honeycomb like interface, Metro is my favourite.
PowerAMP is the best music player. It's so good I want it to have my babies. A 2.0 should be out this summer, by the way.
I hate PowerAMP. I have the paid for version too, and it sucks. Butt-ugly interface. So instead I use Winamp, which is not just free but sexy.

Winamp is just a base player reskin (uses same codecs and stuff) Samsung Galaxy S TouchWiz player was the best one I have used Bad I've installed CM7 and can't get it back, now
What's the best media server app? I've not had much luck just looking around the market, probably because I have no idea what to look for. All I can really find are things to either upload/download from an FTP or download stuff FROM the phone to my computer. What I want, however, is to be able to stream files from my computer to my phone, like you would to a PS3 through TVersity or Media Center, for example.
Emit has a free version with ads to test

I've tried out at least 5 different media players and PowerAMP was the best BY FAR. Who would use Winamp lol

Visually and functionally it's a lot worse than apps like doubletwist with both music and video playback(doubletwist is the only one to do video)
Holy ass listening to music drains my battery like fuck! I listened to about 3-4 songs and my battery % went down by like 20% holy shit
Holy ass listening to music drains my battery like fuck! I listened to about 3-4 songs and my battery % went down by like 20% holy shit
The phone's hardware must be kept awake when you play music, which is around 6x, if not more, than the idle battery drain, which is like 1 percent every 90 minutes. It ends being more like 4-5 percent every hour, but your battery drain sounds like the CPU is also being stressed, so it would be more like what you're seeing, depending upon how big your battery is.
I think idle I get like 2% every 90 minutes, and if I turn the phone off it charges to max, which for me is like 80%, and then it goes down to 65% in about 5 minutes, then it stops going down fast. It's weird as fuck. The whole battery drain and charging problem came after I updated to 2.2, before I rooted it. So I rooted it and went back to 2.1 but the problem remained, so I really don't know what it can be. I tried to calibrate the battery, but it only goes up to 80% charge. I really have no idea what to do.
I just lol'd at this really old video
Emit has a free version with ads to test
I'll have to try it out, thanks [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] Meh still far from what I'm looking for
Anyone know of any application that allows me to change song with the galaxy s 2 earphones? It just plays and stop music
Anyone know of any application that allows me to change song with the galaxy s 2 earphones? It just plays and stop music
Double press the button. It's really hard to get the timing right though. It took me at least 20 tries the first time but it's easy now.

I will be interested in seeing how the next 6 months play out in smartphones.

I might just try double twist, I like the idea of music and video playback in one application.
I use SubSonic. Not got any eye candy, but the whole purpose of it is to stream from your computer/Server.
Holy shit, remember that Defy I told you guys about? (The one I bought) I've never had a phone able to do the kind of thing it does, it's kind of surreal, really. I was browsing the web, while hearing musics from Tinyshark and talking to my friends on Windows Live Messenger. I never thought this was possible :v: 3D Graphics on a phone also seemed impossible, but I was taught wrong once again. Holy shit, android is awesome
What features is it missing?
well for starters I shouldn't have to create yet another mediaserver from my pc. And it also uses the pc browser to work. It's an awkward makeshift way of doing things that really doesn't need to be done
I just got a HTC Desire and decied to factory reset it, and now it wont start properly. How can i fix this? My mobile is so fucked right now. Is there no way at all to unroot it and run the original Android 2.2?
You obviously rooted a device without knowing what you were doing. This is why rooting your device should be harder than it is. Right now anybody can root their device easily but they have no idea what to do when a problem occurs.
