Android Thread V4 - Got money? Samsung Galaxy S II. No money? ZTE Blade.

Hope I never have to deal with fucking Bell again (which is impossible since I just ordered/signed a contract with them for the new SGS2!).
I'm running froyo because there's not any real development on my phone (motorola triumph) yet but i'm currently pissed off at the gallery app. It's completely incapable of viewing any high res images and manages to render every image I have at like... 1280x1024, even when you zoom in far. Even the huge 2000x2500 pictures the camera takes don't have any visible fine detail. This isn't that big of a problem because there's plenty of replacement apps, but it's the only way i've found to set an image as your background but since wallpapers are always fucking huge and it can't render any large images right, all of the wallpapers i've set are ugly and stretched out.
How do I fix it?
But that's completely impossible. Even modern x86 processors struggle with PS2 emulation.
even if it might not run great on current hardware, Kal-El is releasing shortly and it might run well on that.
Ok, I got the controller working perfectly.
The only gripe I have with MIUI is that the menus are too similar to iPhone.
hnnnnng Dark Theme...
It's a nice rom, but yeah, I felt silly using one that looked so much like iPhone when I specifically got an android because I didn't like iOS's limitations.
The dark themes do help a lot, but by the time I was done customizing I felt like I had defeated the point of using MIUI.
Also the gallery app doesn't let you zoom in on images. Are you fucking kidding?

Which app are you using? Quickpic is a pretty solid replacement, and if you go to Menu Key > Wallpaper, it SHOULD let you use Quickpic to select a wallpaper and give you slider handles to crop it and such.
Also, the Moto cameras aren't great in the darkness. If you go into the sunlight you'll get way more out of hires.
Has Verizon changed their WiFi tether support within the past month? Just last month I was able to perform a WiFi tether through my droid but now it isn't working at all. What gives?

well the fact that they charge you $20/mo is pretty dumb considering you can root your phone and just get Barnacle. I'm not sure about what you asked though, I believe my mom was using it 1-2 days ago..

Some people reported being able to tether for free after an update a few weeks ago, but tbh I think that was an accident. You're not supposed to be able to tether for free (which is absolutely ridiculous because you're already paying for the bandwidth) but you can indeed tether if you root your phone. You just have to make sure you don't go above 5 Gigs/mo or so.

Lets see, if it is really better than swype
Well I have rooted my phone but none of my devices seem to be picking up the WiFi signal from barnacles or any other app
Which translation is better( and supports more languages, like Russian)
Miui.us or miuiandroid.com?

With Barnacle, turn on "Auto-associate until someone connects" or whatever, I had that issue too.
Sadly that didn't help :(

Cept that it can survive a ten storey fall with explosions.
Search your phone model in Google using Voice-to-text feature and post your first result. Since mine is Samsung Galaxy Ace, I got "samsung galaxy 8" as a first result.
Make a new thread for that

I got the result "com.google.android.voicesearch has stopped unexpectedly"

I got Samsung Galaxy S and result from google voice search was Samsung Galaxy S.
Order phone, receive the wrong package.

This new Android Market isn't working for me at all. It's really slow and when trying to buy things I just get errors. Even after managing to buy something I have to restart the download so it'll start downloading.
so my Galaxy S2 got back from the service:
Second time I sent it there, second time it got back without any fix for the random restarting/freezing, but they've threathened me that if I send it there again with the same issue described, they might just send it back without doing anything (like they did anything in the first place?!) and denying my service request. What the fuck?
According to other peoples experiences on the internet, this service really IS a waste of time. And they're Samsung's official repair place for Czech Republic. FUCK.
If it crashes or freezes again, I'm going directly to a Samsung centre and they are not going to be happy about that.

What kind of fucking treatment is that? You should contact Samsung ASAP and tell them about your situation (better, shituation :v: ). No, really, do it.
I'll wait if the phone crashes/freezes again. I've been constantly playing with it for over 3 hours and nothing happened so far. Which is weird as hell because the only thing they did was a factory reset. I did that a few times since I have the phone and it didn't help.
I love this phone so much, a week without it felt like being on a wheelchair. Crippled, couldn't do ANYTHING if I wasn't close to my laptop..
What is the best Android Tablet that isn't wallet rape, has a camera and honeycomb?
Advent Venga + Vengacomb = £200 Honeycomb tablet currently the camera and the microphone is broken but if hold out for it to be updated
Using lifehacker.com advice and general Android community surfing, I made a small list of apps for meself.
Browser - Dolphin Browser HD
News - pulse
Video player - MoboPlayer
Scanner - Barcode Scanner
File explorer - ES File Explorer
Pic Manager - QuickPic
Chill - A few games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Doodle Jump. After that comes music creation which is MusicGrid.
I'm still looking for free PowerAMP alternative.
What do you guys think of my app choice?
Update: Uninstalled MusicGrid. Also looking for a minimalist theme, do I need to root my device for custom themes?
Is an Eee pad transformer good?
Just flashed Darky Rom for SGSII, I cringed when that horrible green bootanimation showed up.
