Guys I just got my brand new Android phone, and I remember reading something about an application that let you do IM with your Steam friends. Anyone know?
But.. the gallery app in the Galaxy series.. isn't that the stock android gallery app?
Yup, but Apple just went after Samsung because they are their main rival in the smartphone market.
Yep, here you go. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1113839-pocketSteam/page3?highlight=pocketsteam
Thanks brah! And thanks to Robber too, even though you were ninja'd.

Hey. Motorola makes some seriously high quality phones. And now that Cyanogenmod (And MIUI to an extent) has been ported to the D2, D2G and DX they're great phones.
too bad the hardware is shit the cheap ass buttons on the front make me think I could craft a better phone from stone, the phone will sit in my pocket for a few hours unused and become extremely hot, same thing if sitting on a desk with the back up. The camera button feels like total shit and generally feels like a cheap phone. The screen is overly large and you may enjoy it at first but you come to hate it considering it's really heavy and the screen doesn't look nearly as nice as some other Androids, and it's just kinda annoying to have a phone so large.
If you're going to start saying the phone generally feels like shit at least compare it to something. When I was in the Verizon store it made the Charge's glossy plastic case look like a joke, and the Thunderbolt felt twice as heavy. The screen may not be made to perform well outdoors, but even the Verizon tech was surprised to see that it blew away the Charge even on full brightness. Who cares if you don't want a screen that large? Don't be one of those people who rate something two stars on Amazon because "they didn't like it." I'm surprised you're not complaining about the software because if anything Motoblur is their big problem. I'm running CM7 and it's lightning fast and very stable. Also, mine only gets warm when you do something video intensive for awhile. Not sure what you've got running in the background. I also removed your comment about the tethering because it has nothing to do with Motorola or the phone.

As for the tethering, it has to do with the hardware in the phone.
Mostly because I am poor atm, I am not going to get a tablet till the next generation or at least Ice cream sandwich

HTC phones in general are very metallic and heavy, just one of their design quirks.
I finally got MIUI working. As for the tethering, it has to do with the hardware in the phone.
What about the hardware? You made it sound like having to pay extra for (legitimate) tethering was a Motorola-specific thing.
What about the hardware? You made it sound like having to pay extra for (legitimate) tethering was a Motorola-specific thing.
I meant that in a Verizon term, as in they charge you for extra bullshit and overall it's just dumb.
Why is google being bullied so much lately? :(
Why is google being bullied so much lately? :(
because google actually listens to the customer
how do i change the wifi network ID for my phone (it's probably obvious) now that school is starting and i have a new phone, the school wifi and media wifi aren't blocked anymore because der network fuhrer blocks the mac addresses of any devices that aren't obviously teacher or school computers that connect to the network. i can just name it the media teacher and i'll probably be good if i fuck it up is there also a way to change your mac address
Tethering should be free with any custom ROM.
I meant that in a Verizon term, as in they charge you for extra bullshit and overall it's just dumb.
I agree, but it really sounded like you were aiming it at Motorola in your original post.
Looks like a developer TouchPad leaked into production, running Android 2.2.1: http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/25/alleged-hp-touchpad-running-android-appears-can-be-yours-on-eba/
Alleged and really, he should've considered just giving the ROM dump to the TouchDroid project before doing this. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
Huh, I'll have to take a look at some other phones. What tablet should I get? I don't want to refer to the tablet thread for this as I would prefer android only, and to talk about it [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Preferably with good specs enough to do devving on [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Thinking about waiting for the archos one, not sure
What ta-- Got money? Samsung Galaxy S II. No money? ZTE Blade oh. Is that still a recommended choice? [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Preferably with good specs enough to do devving on
I'd say the No money one should be the ZTE Skate now, it's like a newer blade.
I'd say the No money one should be the ZTE Skate now, it's like a newer blade.
I realized that those were phones, but I need a tablet. :v:
I realized that those were phones, but I need a tablet. :v:
Is it the Archos 101 you're looking at?
My Phone became all crashy again No idea why is it crashy now
I've done some research on custom ROMs and I'm on the fence about it. Can someone give me some tips/recommendations? (Samsung Captivate, rooted)
tips for what choosing your ROM? Personal preference.
I've done some research on custom ROMs and I'm on the fence about it. Can someone give me some tips/recommendations? (Samsung Captivate, rooted)
Step 1 is to never ever ever flash 3 button fix, step 2 is to make sure you're running Captivate bootloaders, preferably Gingerbread ones, and to avoid ever touching them. Bricks feel bad man. I personally am a fan of just getting the latest version of the stock ROM optimized and improved. For example, better battery life, better battery, CPU governors w/ mild stable overclocks, smoother performance, better kernel, UI improvements, etc.
Just put VegaComb build 7 on my Advent Vega. It is amazingly quick.
Is it the Archos 101 you're looking at?
What? No, the 101 G9
Just had my first brick experience. I downloaded DarkMIUI theme and installed it through Recovery Mode. After that I started getting boot loops. So with ODIN Multidownloader I used the latest S-5830 firmware I got from samfirmware.com and waited a few minutes. Phone turned itself on and everything was fine and new again. Silly me.
Not really a "brick"
