• Printer is printing crooked

My Brother HL2040 just started doing this the other day. The paper comes through unmolested so I don't think its getting pinched or anything anywhere. I used Brother's live chat and all they had me do was clean the rollers before telling me to go to hell since its out of warranty. Heres a picture of how its printing. Does it the same way on every page
I know it's an obvious thing, but is the paper in the tray straight? The reasons a printer would print crooked is if one side of the pickup roller got worn or contaminated so it picks up the paper crooked, the paper was getting hung up on the rollers because of contamination or a jam, or if the paper in the tray isn't straight in the first place. Otherwise, even color laser printers are super cheap nowadays.
I have never heard of a single color laser printer that uses one cartridge for all colors
... It's late, and it just occurred to me i read something wrong. Nevermind.
Theres not a lot that causes alignment to go out on a laser printer. If your rollers are in good condition and are free of debris, the only other bit would be rerunning the alignment on your printer/computer. Try loading up their software and see if you can run an alignment/test page on it.

Try printing something again, but this time take a close look at how the paper comes out of the printer. If it seems to come out perfectly straight, I would imagine it is more of a software issue. If it does not come out perfectly straight, there must be something misaligned within the printer's paper loading mechanism.
boi that printer is ancient as fuck it was designed for windows 95
You bumped a year old thread...to tell me my printer is old? Yeah? And up until then it worked perfectly fine for what I needed it to do.
oof had no idea the thread was a year old. not even sure how i found it, it appeared in the subforum for me
It was bumped because of a spambot. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/2014/abf55a90-8ec7-44e4-a3cc-6ac1a403344a/image.png
