This article shows that dual 6850's top the GTX580, and for the same price, I think the Dual 6850's are a better deal.

Well yeah, but buying 2 of them would cost alot wouldn't it? More performance for the same price is a better deal imo.
Of course it will 2v1.
And yeah, it would cost more but still would smash 6850's. It's always wiser to go to 1 single powerful card.
Getting a single GTX 570 now would be worth the investment since later on you can get a second one forSLI. Getting two 6850s might seem like a somewhat better deal now but really isn't when down the road you can have SLI GTX 570s.

Yes your right, having 1 card is always the better choice. I was giving a suggestion that's all. If he is getting a good PSU and a mobo with 2 PCI 2.0 slots then it might be a good choice to get the dual setup.
And yeah 2 570 would fucking kick ass. I don't think OP has that kinda money.

This
Prices go down on them, he could afford one down the line. And you just backtracked and agreed with me on what I was arguing about.

You are the one that started the argument. I didn't backtrack, as I would have agreed with yours statment anyway. Nvidia makes good cards, I totally agree.

How did I backtrack?
How did I backtrack?
You agreed that 1 580 is best down the road. That's how.
I just ordered a 6970 this morning, how strange.
Oh and a fun tale, I bought it off overclockers and saved for weeks, when the card total came together with VAT and packaging I was one fucking penny off in my account :v:
So I had to cash in a £5 note at the bank.

Why not just ask someone to send you a penny?
