• Why is it that an 8800GT and more modern cards (GTX400/500 series) are same prices?
Because stores don't want to lose money on a product, when they buy it for 80 bucks it has to be sold for 80 or above or they make no money out of it.
Yea but at this point, I'd rather lose money on a product than make nothing on it while it sits on a shelf.
Yea but at this point, I'd rather lose money on a product than make nothing on it while it sits on a shelf.
Well if it sits there long enough and they need room for more merchandise, that's what they sometimes do.
Yeah, that's my problem. I want Skyrim for the PC, but my current computer won't handle that.
An 8800 will run Skyrim, I have very little doubt about it.
What kind of card. I mean 8800>Gtx420 but not Gtx460
I'm still using 8800GTS on my gaming rig, is that strange?
Anyone want to buy my 8800GT for $300.00?
The 8800/9800 and all it's variants were brilliant cards.
I still got my heavily modded 8800GS Vmodded, flashed, new heatsink and heavily overclocked.
Pepper;32446770']I still got my heavily modded 8800GS Vmodded, flashed, new heatsink and heavily overclocked.
why
Because i wanted to?
Still got my 8800GTX. It's sitting in my server and heating the room for me while I'm away. I was actually going to put a fanless 3450 in my server, but it turns out i needed the HDMI port on it.
For a server, you only need like, a GF 6150 with HDMI output. They sell them fanless.
I'm still USING my 9800 GT. Don't worry I hope on getting a new build soon. [sub]along with my 1.86ghz dual-core[/sub]
For a server, you only need like, a GF 6150 with HDMI output. They sell them fanless.
I know, but why spend money on a graphics card (no matter how cheap or crappy) when I can just use what i already have?
Not really worthy of its own thread, so I'm posting it here. I want to sell my Asus ATI Radeon HD 4890 1 GB and I'm wondering what price I should ask for it. My highest bid so far is 60 euros.

also why is the GTX 285 so damn expensive?
also why is the GTX 285 so damn expensive?
Good question. In Denmark, a GTX 285 currently cost about the same as a GTX 295 did. Hell, the GTX 580 is cheaper.

MY cousin gave me a computer with a 9800gtx+ overclock edition (I can't overclock this baby more even if I tried without artifacting, it came stock pushed to the limits lol) this bad boy runs dead island and every other game I want on high @ 1680x1050. This card has not let me down (esp. combined with the intel quad core @ 2.4ghz)
