Too far bro. [editline]31st July 2014[/editline] That is literally the cringe-iest thing I have ever seen in my whole goddamn life. [editline]31st July 2014[/editline] fuck
Maybe because I actually do get off to that? Will you ever know if I get off to that, or if I was joking? Take a guess.
what are the specs on the unused pc? (cpu(cores and frequency), ram, psu)
CPU: Core 2 duo E7300 2.66 GHz GPU: Geforce 8800 RAM: 2 GB PSU: Some unknown chinese PSU in a very inconvenient place, behind the front panel instead on the back like most pc do

[t]http://i.imgur.com/pq5qYGK.png[/t] Looking into hosting a lan party.
Got this one from eBay the other day: Nortel 5510-24T, full gigabit w/ 2 overlap SFP ports. Even came with an SFP (not that I'll use it). Not bad for $50.
it belonged to the city of chicago?
it belonged to the city of chicago?
Apparently. I'm assuming the people I bought it from buys lots of older equipment from other companies and just resells it on eBay. I guess they were too lazy to take those labels off before selling it.

Just got a Cisco SLM2048 switch - because frankly, it was (very) cheap and I like to mess around with these things. What I did forget was the Delta fans... I just opened it up and pulled them out, and because the traffic is minimal and not really any processing has to be done, do you guys think it's ok? (Yes, this is not a Post your server exactly, but might as well ask for server related help here)

Alternatively, find some quieter fans to replace the loud ones.

I've decided to just use it for LAN's, but even then it might be too loud :S Looking at new fans might not be a bad idea though.

Does anyone else here use velcro for CAT Cable Management? I thought it was stupid at first but then I realised, if I wanted to add a new cable I wouldn't have to break every single cable tie, or have to like, squash the RG45 connector into it.

I don't think anyone really uses cable ties for cat or computer wires period anymore, unless they absolutely have to.
