Is there anything that allows me to choose what to boot when i plug in my USB disk? Basically i want to turn this 700 GB HDD into a PC Saver drive with Windows 7, 8 and 10 + Hirens Boot CD.
Yeah, you can install a bootloader on the usb drive that allows you to boot different things AFAIK. Try googling 'usb bootloader'

Does no one know how to fix this?
It only happens in the top bar, and I have also found it happens in a few other programs. (Pasco Capstone is one of them)

Holy shit, hardware acceleration was disabled, and enabling it worked...

I currently have a motherboard with 2 Kingston HyperX KHX16C10B1R/8, can I safely add 2 Kingston HyperX Fury red HX316C10FR/8?

Has anyone else been having an issue as to where you can't click links such as "View more info" or viewing past comments on a steam profile? I can click them and such but suddenly now I can't.
My SSD and HDD sometimes seem to turn itself off if it's not reading or writing something for a while, I can notice this sometimes when searching for a file and hearing the SSD making noises, takes a few seconds for it to actually start file searching.
How do I solve this, is it a setting in BIOS I need to change?
Your SSD is making noises? Uh, that shouldn't happen.
Having some trouble with computer freezes during gaming lately, mainly on Battlefield 4. I notice that my Core i7 4770K reaches temps of over 90C, near 100C sometimes under heavy load (with just a modest overclock to 4.2ghz), even though I have this huge bastard cooling the thing. Just checked with SpeedFan and it seems my CPU fans stay at a near constant 900 RPM under any temperature. Can't seem to adjust the speed in SpeedFan either. Any tips?
What SSD is the most bang-for-the-buck when it comes to storage?
I don't need blazing fast, just something reliable that's only bottlenecked a tiny bit by SATA2 ports.

You gotta fiddle around in BIOS/UEFI.
Looked up specs of my CPU cooler, 800RPM seems to be the max speed for the Scythe Mugen 4.... So the fan seems to be doing its job, the overclock isn't absurd, and I still have a heat issue under load. Is it possible the heat paste deteriorated within a few years or something?
Edit: I don't know if jumpy temps are any indication... while idling on desktop, temps are 45C. Do anything like opening a window and it'll instantly jump between 60-70C.

yeah.. double check your thermal paste
i botched the thermal paste on my h100i first time i installed it and was seeing temps around ~85C under full load. replaced it and it was instantly better. if it has been a few years also check and see if your heat sink is clogged with dust or not.
So my Samsung Syncmaster SA300 is having some issues, it gets like that after being turned on for a while or just cold-booted, but it does look normal after a while or a few resets. Any idea what could be causing this, or how I'd go about fixing it? I've already ruled out power supply issues and video output related issues, same problem on several PCs.

On windows 10, Nvidia card, drivers are up to date. It just happened spontaneously. Switched wallpapers and it seems fine now.

Run scans with MBAM every so often, and find some free one to do realtime protection with (or pay for MBAM if you've got the cash for it)

Yeah, a part of me wishes it happened to the entire picture, I would totally use that as an alternative wallpaper.
Edit:
Kind've off topic, but I tried my best to make the rest of the picture match.

If you're on Windows, go to your control panel and then find power options. On whichever power mode you're currently on (power saver, balanced, or high performance), click on "change plan settings" and then "change advanced power settings". On the next window that pops up, open the tab that says "Hard disk" and then the tab underneath which probably says something like "turn off hard disk after". Click on and set the time to 0 so that your drives will always stay on. Then click apply and close the window.

Also SSDs don't (or shouldn't) make any noise when idle or in use. Whatever you're hearing is probably your HDD, which is also affected by the hard disk setting.
Is it possible the heat paste deteriorated within a few years or something?
Heat paste shouldn't have deteriorated for something as new as the 4770k, but a possibility is that your computer might have gotten bumped and the heatsink could a little loose / broke the old thermal paste
You could try taking it off, applying new paste and properly tightening it down again

Just search "SSD" or wait for one to pop up on the front page on slickdeals.net
Speaking of thermal paste, how do you easily clean off old paste on the CPU? I don't have to replace the paste right now but I may have to do it at some point, don't think I applied mine that good, around 40C when idle using 4690k with Hyper 212 EVO.
a little bit of rubbing alcohol and a paper towel (or just a paper towel)
also that sounds about normal if your motherboard throttles down the CPU fan when the CPU isn't being stressed much, you should only really be mildly concerned once it reaches the high 80's / 90's under load (it's not gonna kill your cpu or anything if it runs a little toasty from time to time)

Just did. Temperatures under load (running wPrime 8 threads) now stay around 75C instead of 100C. Yay!
When I dismounted the cooler I concluded I might've been a bit too liberal with thermal paste last time around.
anyone know if its possible to stream a softth triple head seatup?
I want to upgrade my GPUs, I'm running two GTX 760s in SLI. I want to step away from dual cards though, and I was thinking of going with the GTX 970. A friend of mine told me to wait until the new cards come out from NVIDIA next year, is it really gonna be worth it to wait, like are they gonna be that much better?

My rule of thumb is, don't bother waiting more than two months for a new generation, particularly with video cards.
I haven't even heard anything completely solid about the next-gen Nvidia cards. Supposedly they'll be switching to HBM2 instead of GDDR5 but a) that's not confirmed and b) based on AMD and HBM1, it's not the overwhelming advantage it was originally hyped as.
Will next year's cards be better? Probably. So will 2017's, and 2018's, and so on until we hit the Singularity. If you're planning to upgrade, now is as good a time as any.
How come I get significantly higher bandwidth while connected to a VPN on my phone than on my PC when they are both using the same wifi network?
Been looking all over for this, but can't find the answer I need. I built a new computer recently and got a 970 as well, the problem is with my main monitor. No matter what I do, the screen is cut off. I've went into the Nvidia Control Panel and tried changing the position but it's always cut off on the other side of the screen when I get it aligned on one side. I've tried messing with the auto-adjust on my actual monitor as well but nothing is working. My other monitor is 1600x900 and fits perfectly and it's using a DVI connector, while my main is VGA and 1920x1080. My other monitor has no position issues at all.
Any idea what could cause this "spiky" CPU trend?

use resmon (resource monitor) and look at which process is spiking cpu usage
Windows keeps setting my time to match my time zone despite the fact that I have "Set time automatically" turned off. I need to have my time zone different right now because of reasons, but it fucks up Skype when it sets it back. Is there something else I'm supposed to do to turn this off?
I want to play my PS3 in my room using my computer monitor, my monitor is a speakerless one and only has DVI and VGA ports. I've got a DVI/HDMI cable, but how would I go about getting the sound from my PS3 to my speaker system?

Cheers, that sounds like it should work.
Just gotta dig my PS2 out of a mountain of boxes.
