So for some random reason I've been laggy in all the games I've been playing recently. I'll have a low ping but my movement will be as though I've got 300. All my hits register perfectly fine though. Happens in KF2 and CS:GO.
download is 25mb/s as well. I've experienced this both at home and at my uni halls, so I feel like it's an issue on my end.

Opinions on the Surface Pro 3? Considering picking one up if the 4 is indeed anounced next month and prices drop.
Not planning on using it for anything super intensive. Maybe some fairly light gaming and coding.

They get hot, maybe consider the regular Surface 3 or wait for the SP4
What would this USB device (to clarify it emits wifi) be called? Does it even exist?

Wifi hotspot?

I have no clue, that's why I came to ask. I'm thinking that's my best shot.

You can generally do it with a regular Wifi adapter, though you might be better off just getting a cheap router with wifi instead.

I own an i7 pro3 256gb, second from the best in the i7 line. Managed to get BL2 running at 1080p on minimum at 25ish fps. They're an absolutely amazing piece of tech, I've got Maya and Photoshop loaded up and its handled them fairly well. Biggest downside is they're absolutely the single most fragile piece of hardware I've owned, and they're not cheap to repair. My screen cracked within 2 weeks of getting it under circumstances I'm still not entirely sure about (though I think I sat on it) but barring that this thing is still fragile as fuck. There's an issue with the i7 and some i5 models that they get stupendously hot. And they do. I think eventually they calm the FUCK down after a few weeks - something about installing firmware etc. If you're gaming/editing on it prepare to be melted to shit though. Sometimes part of the monitor turns a little off coloured white (yellowish) which doesn't really ruin the device but is a bit of a ballache for serious colour editing. They're a great buy, mine cost me about $1.2k because of the $300 screen repair I had to do, but still £500 cheaper than if I bought it in the UK. I used eBay. If you've got any more questions feel free to ask.

Did you have to pay import tax when I got my SP 1 years ago I thought about it but then the import tax wouldn't make it worth it?
So recently my PC when I shut it down will randomly stay powered (No screens etc just fans and LEDS lit) any idea of the cause not changed anything hardware or software wise
Best budget webcam?
Thanks!

I bought this same model at my Walmart for about the same price (or just a bit less, 10% employee discount) and I've had no problems with it at all so far. The microphone isn't of very high quality, but most people would recommend getting a headset or a clip-on mic you can hook up to your shirt anyway. It also only records in 720p but that's honestly not a big deal unless you have perilous need for a 1080p webcam.

I was staying in America when I bought it so I just took it back like a regular laptop.
I just upgraded to a 6th gen I5-6600K and its running super hot.
I only have waterfox, skype and steam running at the moment and speedfan is saying its running at 99c and rising.
I'm using a Corsair H80i cooler. I suspect either the water is not circulating properly or the contact between the cpu and unit is not proper.
[editline]did you know that you are gay?[/editline]
Nvm repositioned the radiator and now its fixed.
Anyone know where I can find a legit 64-bit driver for the ATI HD 3430? Every install I have tried on this machine does not function.
I currently own a Dell Inspiron 5520 on Windows 8.1 and I'm eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 10. I've done this many times on Desktop PC's but laptops can be... a challenge.
I have the drivers DVD that came with the laptop just incase but there are a lot of fucking weird partitions for boot and recovery and I'm worried they will break If I upgrade.

Anything I should do before/after the upgrade? My thoughts are that the recovery partition will contain an image to recover Windows 8 and not 10, and I also don't know why there's more than 1. Also not sure If these can be deleted and manually re-created (I wouldn't touch the OEM or EFI partitions).
I have a 3-disk RAID 0 which ultimately caused me more trouble than worth, and I'm about to disconnect it. I've taken backups, etc, and im about to switch pagefile location (cus its on the raid currently), anything else that is important to take into consideration before disconnecting a raid?

ZombieDawgs's post on it is pretty comprehensive, but I'd like to note that compared to the Pro 2 or the regular Surface 3, the Pro 3 has some throttling issues, which can result in seriously degraded performance in games. Just consider that along with the other things.
I have a bit of a problem with my RAM.
I have 2 different 2x4gb set of ram. One of them is 1866mhz and the other is 1333mhz.
On normal cases it should clock all to 1333mhz and I can utilise all 16gb.
But for some reason right now, if I slot all four of them into the motherboard it would fail to enter POST and just turn on and off endlessly. So now I'm ruinning 12gb with slot 4 empty.
This happened before when a bit of dirt got wedged between the RAM and the board.

Once again, never mind. There was a small dead spider in the slot.
I work for a small business and we are setting up our new offices but the Broadband has been delayed for 10 working days.
We have an Osprey 2 Mini
[t]http://brain-images.cdn.dixons.com/1/3/10133131/l_10133131_003.jpg[/t]
If you don't know what it is, its a mobile 3G / 4G hot spot that runs off mobile data via a micro sim with a data plan.
Now the Osprey is fine for the time being as it allows up to 10 devices connected, but we need our VOIP phones online too.
My question is, would it be possible to connect the Osprey 2 Mini to a Switch, then connect the VOIP phones to the switch via the NIC. Would that allow network access for the phones?
The other option, should the first not be possible, could I connect a wireless adapter / dongle to the Switch and bridge the Ospreys data to the adapter in the switch and generate a network connection that way?
I don't have the switch to hand as it is in our new office which is a 3 hour drive from where I am currently based, so I am unable to test this before moving offices.
[editline]18th September 2015[/editline]
In addition, could we connect the Osprey 2 to a TP-Link 150M Wireless as it has WISP Mode (effectively a wireless WAN port), then use that as a bridge to the switch?
If that is not possible, is there anything out of the box that can bring in a 3G / 4G network and allow VOIP via Ethernet?
I imagine its fine as long as it uses standard Ethernet (which I'm sure it does).
Brand new build constantly BSOD's
mem diag is fine, dskchk is fine, re-format and it happens on a default system.
Replaced the M2 (since driver irql_less_or_not_equal 0x00000d1 is drive right?) but still fucked
Can anybody read mimidumps?

With only one set of fans I believe. Have him get a Phanteks Enthoo Primo though if he's spending that cash. Or an even better case...

Hes pretty set on the 900D, though he is thinking of the Lian-Li PC08, which is slightly more expensive on newegg.
I just really didn't like working in the 900D. The top cover is also ass.
Is there a site that has good laptop reviews or recommendations? I don't really have any problem just looking at lists of laptops and specs but unlike desktops, once you buy a laptop you're pretty much stuck with it.

check the right hand "top 10" lists for what you need
it's not definitive, but laptops in general aren't - all of them have some flaws and strong traits. There exists no "perfect" laptop - only the one that's best suited for what you're going to use one for.
If you're trying to get a good deal on a laptop instead of a good laptop (which can also be a good idea), check the computers section / front page of slickdeals.net every day for a week to see what suits your fancy
Alright got a weird question here, has to do with audio.
So I got these speakers, right? I want to get a thing so that there are two inputs and a switch, so I can switch between which signal they output from. One input is from the standard circular audio jack like on headphones, but the other is the audio from an hdmi cable. Here's where it gets weird, though. The video from that hdmi has to go somewhere else, so I can't just slap some sort of converter on the end.
So basically I need three things, one that can seperate the audio and video from an hdmi source, one that can convert that audio to the circular audio jack, and one that can switch between two of those circular jacks as inputs and output them to the same speaker system thing. Can anybody help me out here please? Does anybody even understand what I'm trying to say? I know I worded it poorly.
http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=5557&seq=1&format=2
does this solve your issue
i think this is what you mean
Not exactly, my main concern here is that I need something to switch between two audio sources to be outputted through the same set of speakers. So say I have device A and device B, and one set of speakers, I need something where initially the speakers are outputting the audio from device A, but then I flip a switch and the speakers are outputting the audio from device B. In this scenario, all audio inputs and outputs use that circular jack what which you see on headphones and such.

You know what, I'm doing a really bad job of explaining this, I'll make a diagram to show what I mean when I have more time.
