You mean like what shows if you go to view -> details panel?

[del]Yeah but in W7 it loaded at the bottom when you pressed an image, so you could have thumbnail previews and details.[/del]
edit: thank you <3
Yo!
Basically, I built my pc (first time I do). It seems to be working properly (the CPU fan, the back case fan, and the graphics card fans work too, and the case's led is on) however when connecting it to the screen it always shows no signal - tried both with DVI and HDMI, and I connected the HDMI cable to both the motherboard entrance (which is weird - I'm quite sure it does not have an internal graphics card) and to the graphics card's hdmi entrance. No signal.
I fear the problem may be in the fact that my PSU doesn't seem to have VGA but only PCI-E, which had the wrong number of pins, since the graphics card has two entrances with 6 pins. The graphics card came with two cables which had 6 pins each - so I used them. My PSU us not modular but it had what I suppose are expansion cables because the black and yellow cables that came with the graphics card fit into them and I could connect them to the card which is working to some extent because the fans are moving.
Yeah we definitely need a bit more information. Any links or pictures would be fantastic.
The power supply is a TS550 while the graphics card is a Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X.

The "expansion cables" (or whatever they really are) had 4 holes while the cables that came with the GC had only 3 pins, but I don't think that matters at all.
EDIT: We set the screen to "Automatic" mode and now it works! That bios is really beautiful. However I'm still extremely confused. There are only a DVI and an HDMI cables connected, why would using Auto make any difference
Okay that's not the best way to do that. The TS550 has 3 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. You'll want to use two of those. It has 8 pins, but 2 on the end just sort of clip on or off to make it a 6 pin.

Are you sure? I only saw a single 6+2 pin PCI-E and a 8 pin one, plus a lot of sata cables and the obligatory 4+4 and 20 CPU ones.
It appears there are 2 TS550 models (What the fuck XFX??) is yours bronze or gold rated?
Bronze.
Per XFX's site
Fixed PCI-E Connectors : 1x 6-pin, 1x 6+2-pin
Any chance you can take a picture of all the connectors laying flat out?
I doublechecked and there is no 6-pins-only connector:

The 6+2 pins connector(s):

Now I'm probably going to say something really dumb - but a single line of connectors counts as a single connector, right? Or does every single "elbow" count as a different connector?
I'm going to repost this from CIPWTTKT.
Has anyone encountered an issue where Windows 7 will hang at the Starting Windows animation (it also hangs on Safe Mode)? The caveat being that it will boot normally if you enter the BIOS setup and then leave (don't even have to change anything)? Also warm reboots after a successful boot will work everytime.
I'm having this problem with a bunch of PCs (HP Elite 8200) at work and it doesn't make an goddamn sense. I'm going to try a different Windows 7 image, but I have a feeling even that won't work.
So I'm wanting to upgrade my 2 gtx 760's in SLI to 1 gtx 970 but I'm wanting to make sure I can meet the power plug requirements. The 970 requires one six pin and one eight pin plug, but my PSU only has 6 pin and 2 pin plugs. Can I use one six pin in one plug, and then one six pin with an auxillary 2 pin plug in the 8 pin slot on the card? Sorry if I'm wording this weird, it's weird to describe/explain.
Yes, the technical name for that connector is a 6+2 plug. So you can use it as a full 8 pin or just a 6 with no issues.
Awesomeeeee thanks!
Anyone know if there could be major problems if I remove the data from the registry keys?

Found the problem. I had to disable SATA power management in the BIOS. What the hell.
I have my PC both plugged in to my TV and a monitor and I just duplicate the display. My TV supports 1920x1080, at 60hz. My monitor supports 1920x1080 at 144hz. Is there a way to keep my TV hooked up to the computer, without my monitor getting downgraded to 60hz?
Gah, my dad is pushing me to download a dvd drive driver so our dvd drive actually works on windows 10, but i can't find the model number. I do know it is a super writemaster, though.

That's really weird. I thought all drives used generic ATAPI drivers since like XP at least.
What's some good, used/cheap laptop with 200-300$ budget? I'll be doin' programming and webdev shit, thus a good keyboard is a must. I expect the machine to run at least as good as my main rig (Intel pentium E5200 cpu, 2 gb ddr2 ram, intel igpu) and I don't mind slow hdd. Battery life is another concern.
What should i upgrade?
GPU: AMD Radeon HD7800 Series
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250 Processor 3.00 GHz
Ram: 4 Gb
if you're gaming, all of those
How do I increase home wifi speed/strength?
For mobile devices mostly.

Anyone else not been able to right click on their desktop since the last windows update? (or left click and drag for that matter).
I've noticed the style of the context menus have changed so I'm assuming it's related. It's annoying because I have my icons hidden until I need them and now I can't unhide them.

Is this a regular SATA connection or is it mSATA?
I've never seen the latter and it seems kind of small...

Makes sense, the bay is large enough for a 2,5 inch drive. It's just that I didn't expect my laptop to hold 2 harddrives :V

If possible, switch to 5 Ghz, there's less stuff on there.
Alternatively, find a less crowded channel.
If neither helps / spectrum pollution isn't the issue, get better/more antennae.
If you can't do any of these or none work, replace your AP or add a second one as a repeater.

So I just download that atapi driver you are talking about?

I mean the thing opens and closes just fine. I don't know why i need to install a driver
