If possible, switch to 5 Ghz, there's less stuff on there. Alternatively, find a less crowded channel. If neither helps / spectrum pollution isn't the issue, get better/more antennae. If you can't do any of these or none work, replace your AP or add a second one as a repeater.
Done, set it to 5 Ghz and changed control channel. What does bandwith mean?
I have a motherboard with a graphical bios and a PC with windows 8 and a botched installation of Ubuntu running, but I just select windows 8 when the option comes up. And I'm trying to format my computer the old fashion way by booting from a disc and formatting the hardrive and reinstalling windows. The issue is that my CD drive or USB won't show up as a boot option, only various UEFI options and windows OS Selection or something along those lines. Any idea about Hiw I can force my pc to boot from the disc drive or usb? ( motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 1 (SOCKET 1150) )
For some reason, it feels as though my mouse is less responsive in Windows 10 than it is in Linux. I haven't been able to confirm it with any degree of confidence, but if we work on the assumption that it is less responsive, what could be causing that?
shove a disc in there and see what happens if it's not being detected in device manager, chances are the sata cable isn't plugged in so check that too
Or its disabled in the BIOS. Which would be odd, but worth a shot if you don't see any missing devices in device manager and you checked your cables.
If I have 2 graphics cards on my motherboard, they will run each at 8x instead of 16x right? My question is, if I want to get a sound card, will it limit my graphics card to 8x as well?
If your motherboard shares lanes, yes.
Just did some research on PCIe lanes and apparently my motherboard supports
(x16 or dual x8 or x8/x16/x8 or x8/x16/x8/x8)
Too bad my i7 4770k only supports
Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4
No dice.
[t]http://catpanic.eu/upl/2015-09-26_13-32-30hao.png[/t] How do you replicate that effect in Sony Vegas 13? Like Photoshop's Marquee + Free Transform
What motherboard do you have? Some high end ones have an additional chip that adds pcie lanes in an odd way. Also most sound cards are PCIe 2.0, which are controlled by your south bridge and won't effect your 3.0 lanes for your GPUs
How can I reinstall Windows 10 fresh onto a new SSD? I tried reinstall but it just did so automatically onto the SSD it is on now
Use the installation from boot
Can I do that without the disc? I did something there and I think it's just reinstalling as normal again ugh
Does Windows 10 have something built in for when you run out of video ram, it starts using system ram? This is me on Windows 8.1 running Halo Online This is on Windows 10 Same thing with Rust and a bunch of other games. Max is what I am talking about.
i don't think current graphics cards are built for that, unless DX12 has some voodoo I don't know about
i don't think current graphics cards are built for that, unless DX12 has some voodoo I don't know about
Whatever it is, when on 10, I get 20fps on lowest, on 8.1 I get 60fps on highest in Halo Online.
Can I do that without the disc? I did something there and I think it's just reinstalling as normal again ugh
To do a frugall install: Make space for the install media, preferably make a small, 2-3 GB ntfs partitiion for it. Unpack the install media onto the new partition. Now download EasyBCD which will allow you to manage boot entries graphically. Inside EasyBCD add a new "windows install media" entry and the required file is boot.wim in the <install media partition>\sources folder. Save settiings, reboot, and click the newly created bootentry to begin install.
Tried Rust on Windows 10, it was 3fps on highest, LoD setting of 1, Windows 8.1 it was 60fps same settings.
Tried Rust on Windows 10, it was 3fps on highest, LoD setting of 1, Windows 8.1 it was 60fps same settings.
conclusion: rust sux

Anyone know a good temp to level off at for the 5820k at max load? I've got it clocked up to 4.2ghz running max temp at about 60c, people say the Haswell-E's can run super hot but I'm not so sure. I think I can get it to 4.4.-4.5 stable relatively easy.
conclusion: rust sux
Same issue in other games.
Same issue in other games.
Try doing a clean reinstall of your GPU drivers. That isn't normal.
Can I do that without the disc? I did something there and I think it's just reinstalling as normal again ugh
You can boot from usb
Try doing a clean reinstall of your GPU drivers. That isn't normal.
Done that. Still does it.
Can anybody recommend a good (and hopefully cheap) mini keyboard/ keypad. It doesn't need to have a full set of keys. I was tinking of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gembird-A4-X7-G100-Gaming-Keyboard-Interface/dp/B000MRNW6U/ref=pd_cp_147_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1KJ8DKHQBM40X4ST5997 But its literally the second thing I found on Amazon, so if anyone knows a better alternative that would be nice.
Need a new home computer chair. Moved over a month ago and have been sitting in a folder chair with blanket folded up on the seat. I'm now starting to have back pain over the weekends. Any recommendations? Dxracer seems interesting (I had a friend who had one) but from what I can tell they seem more gimmicky than anything. The company seems to have given their chairs to every twitch streamer ever for free in order to advertise. But they're $400... which is better than stealcase or herman miller. tl;dr $400 "gaming" chair or $800+ "ergonomic office chair"?

Can a 500W psu handle an ivy bridge i5 and a r9 380?
It's a corsair cx500 so I assume it's 'very good'
