Having memory problems, I'm that idiot that buys high end hardware, runs a bunch of high performance required programs simultaneously without checking that I'll have enough memory and then everything goes wrong to such an extent that I can't end process of the crashed programs or even taskkill them I'm getting this event (sometimes I black screen but don't go unresponsive, i.e. I can hear audio and responses to input but no visual) but also sometimes programs just become unresponsive and refuse to have their process ended (virtual memory issue?) When I looked I had these settings. Should I set my paging file to be even bigger, like 4096, or should I leave it to be automatically managed? Also if there could be any other problems because I probably wouldn't know about them
Noone answered so I put it on automatic managed, and dayum that 16GB paging file Not getting any more out of memory issues, which is good
Anybody have any idea on how to download every image in this website's /img/ directory? I want to play Cookie Clicker, but unfortunately it won't work on my laptop, so I've went and found the files necessary: http://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/img/
Not sure if this is a general question or a windows 10 question, but here goes. My 2TB hard drive running Windows 7 is on the brink of death. I got myself a 240GB SSD and a new 2TB hard drive to replace this old bastard. Basically what I would ideally like to do is, install Windows 10 on my SSD (I've heard that compatibility issues are rare so I'm keen for an upgrade), then transfer all the shit I wanna keep onto my new 2TB hard drive while they are both installed, then remove the old hard drive. Is this doable? Is there a better way to do it, would it be a smarter idea to just buy an external hard drive and transfer my files to that first? Thanks in advance guys, I've got no idea what I'm doing.

I've done similar things without exchanging drive though, I still have a usable windows 8.1 option of my 2TB because I really don't have the time to clean it up. I just boot to 10 on the SSD. A good thing that I will probably have to ask for someone else to answer is transferring of application prefences and shit
Hey guys, I just got a Gear VR yesterday for my Note 4, it works great, it's fun. But I've noticed a few things going on about my phone now Like after I disconnect it, my home button won't work until I reset my phone, and sometimes after that, it will just randomly shut off and I have to turn it back on. Now tonight, I got a bluetooth controller and was trying it out, I got a batter low notification, figured I disconnect my phone from my VR and charge it for a bit. It was at 15%, I plugged it in, it went from 15% to 0%, almost instantly, I was confused, then it died on me, I left it plugged in, wouldn't budge from 0% I turned the phone on, it let me use it for a bit while it was still charging, then died, never moved from 0. I took the battery out and put a new one in, it then was at 5% for some reason, let me use it, while it was charging it went from 5%, to 4%, then 0 again. What its up with my phone? Bad battery? Phone isn't even a year old. Never, ever gave me problems before. [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] So quick update, after leaving it plugged in, without my phone on charging, it got up to 10% in roughly thirty minutes, turned it on, I was trying to turn Ultra battery saver on, but it went from 10%, to 9%, then 5% quickly, phone started to lag hard, before it went too 0% then died again, all on the charger. I really hope it's my battery, does it sound like a bad battery to you guys? I tried doing the spin test, but it didn't seem to work, there is a very tiny [I really don't know if it was already there or not] 90 degree angle bulge at the top of the battery, so I dunno if that already was there, or because it's in such a weird spot that the battery doesn't spin on it.
Got fiber installed and going to start streaming, what webcam should I get?
Is there any keyboard/mouse that can switch sending their input between 2 different computers with a flick of a switch? I dislike having to constantly switch between keyboards and mouses when I'm multitasking with 2 computers.
Is there any keyboard/mouse that can switch sending their input between 2 different computers with a flick of a switch?
Got fiber installed and going to start streaming, what webcam should I get?
Searched "That Logitech Camera" on bing This one https://secure.logitech.com/en-au/product/hd-pro-webcam-c920 litterally everyone uses it, or another C9xx model good place to start searching from there
I have a fx-6300 and a r9-270, if I were to upgrade which one should I do first?
I have a fx-6300 and a r9-270, if I were to upgrade which one should I do first?
For gaming performance: The 270 For rendering, programming, heavy work or ArmA: The fx6300
I have a fx-6300 and a r9-270, if I were to upgrade which one should I do first?
processor upgrades don't really matter for gaming (unless you have a REALLY old/crappy CPU) because they haven't improved all that much over the past few years ya you'll see some improvements and of course better is better, but for a real increase in performance you need to look at GPUs
Does anyone one know a bit about HFS+? I have a disk with 2 partitions. sda.0 was empty and sda.1 was an NTFS partition. I've just formatted sda.0 to HFS+ in the OS X installer and its caused the second partition to go unallocated (the data is still there though I can see it in testdisk). Should I have expected this or is it unusual? And is there a way to recover the file table or will I have to build a new one? I'm guessing its because the disk used an MBR before which OSX has overwritten (I was certain it was GPT but i guess not).
Solved this now, copied all the data off then went nuclear. The copy took nearly 16 hours though, yikes.
Hey, I got a new monitor since my old one died. It's kind of a widescreen so this might be the issue, but everything (texts, pictures, anything) has this really obvious and ugly "smear" of sorts. I checked the cable, yes, I turned it off and on again, yes, it's 1920x1080, yes.

Its the cable almost 98% of the time. Otherwise, its bad VGA connectors on either the GPU or monitor. Solution? Replace VGA cable. Best solution? Use DVI, HDMI or DP. No reason to use VGA anymore unless you can't avoid it.
Yep, HDMI fixed it. [editline]2nd October 2015[/editline] I mean it's still kinda there but it's not fucking awful like it was.

YCbCr is intended for television/movies, not computer graphics. On AMD cards, its under Pixel Format. Most of the time it autodetects correctly but I've had it guess wrong before. Its the one bad thing about HDMI being used for both.
I upgraded my PC with a new SSD and 2 new HDDs. Ever since doing this my FPS hasn't been that great in games. I completely reinstalled the OS and everything. I have a 970 and in MGS I was always getting 60fps, I played today on an FOB and was getting in low 30s at some stages. Also in CS GO I used to get like 180 - 250 fps, and last night I was getting like 80-150. Any ideas what I could do or check?
So I need to run a very small VM (Containing a router image) thinking of getting Gigabyte Brix BXBT-2807 (Celeron N2807) with 4gb ram. I guess that would be capable of running a stripped out Linux and Virtual box, the VM im loading doesn't need much resource wise I would just give it 1 core and 1 - 2 gb of ram. Think it can handle the job? Need a nuc that is under the £120 range if not
It would do it fine. But natively running the router image might be better. Take it it's going to run PFsense? Levelog could probably tell you better.
Nope its running a VPN image, spoke to Level in the linux thread but I'm about to drop the cash for it and that was the only part I needed to double check - The image I have isn't in the form of a ISO (OVF & VMDK)

I've heard of people running VB on those Celerons. 3d acceleration cannot be enable, but I doubt that'll be an issue for you. And I've converted a normal hard drive to a VB image, but never the other way around. Dunno if it can be done.
Just sell yourself for a 980ti. [editline]3rd October 2015[/editline] I've got a 680, but it's only got a waterblock :v:
I'm guessing you dumped the stock cooler.
Nah, but apparently I lost the screws.
Okay great so this is weird. After switching over to the HDMI with my new monitor, my FPS has absolutely been tanking in games that used to run fine, even things like EUIV or whatnot. [editline]3rd October 2015[/editline] Like is my computer just coincidentally shitting itself or what [editline]3rd October 2015[/editline] I used to get a steady 60 in EUIV's menu but now it's trudging along at 30

Nope, 1920x1080 @1080p and 60hz
Can I get some feedback on this build? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/BananaMagician/saved/bcPkcf I have a PSU already (Cooler Master Elite 460, 460W obvi).
Any free programs out there for playing Blu-Ray discs on my DVD/Blu-Ray optical drive? I'll just go and buy PowerDVD if I have to because I've seen people recommend it a lot, but if there's a free option that doesn't require any extra steps (like ripping, I don't much care for that), I'm game.
