Is it worth it to go from a AMD R9 270X to a nVidia 960? Purely from a hardware standpoint, I know drivers are like playing Russian Roulette.
Not really worth it, the GTX 960 only performs a tiny bit better than the R9 270X.

Hopefully somebody can identify what console I had as a kid: Basically when I was kid, parents bought me game console, it was NES type. 1) It was a full size white keyboard. 2) Above F1-F12 there was cartridge slot. 3) On left and right side it had port for controllers. 4) It had VGA port (I think, not 100% sure) 5) It had Printer port (I think, it was wide pin port) 6) Then typical RCA ports. 7) It came with a special cartridge which had software on it like: typing, drawing, and few more but I can't remember them. 8) It ran basic NES games like chip n dale, mario, and others (so not Sega) 9) it also had all keyboard functionality like Enter, Numpad, Scroll Lock and Caps Lock with LED's. Help? I am trying to remember, I would love to find more about it, so I want to find out specific name of it. Any ideas?
Planning an ITX build for my girlfriend on a low budget using an OC'ed G3258. (For general use, maybe light gaming in the future...) Can anyone recommend a good case? Small form factor tips are also appreciated!

I'm tired of dealing with routing Ethernet cables through walls, is this a good pci-e WiFi antenna? I understand what 80 PLUS ratings are for PSUs, but can the rating affect one's performance in gaming or perhaps overclocking? Is, for example, Gold better than Bronze for those specific purposes or does it not make a difference?
WinDirStat tells me I have files worth 45 Gigs on my C drive, while it's almost goddamn full for no reason. What am I missing? Cause I am way confused.

Given the same output power load, a higher-efficiency PSU will draw less power at the wall, and emit less heat. But the power output is the same. So let's say you have a system that draws 400W at load. An 800W (PSUs are most efficient at half their power) 80+ PSU will draw 500W at the wall, giving off 100W of heat. An 80+ Bronze will draw 470W and have 70W of heat, an 80+ Silver will draw 455W (55W heat), an 80+ Gold will draw 445W (45W heat), an 80+ Platinum will draw 435W (35W heat), and an 80+ Titanium will draw 425W (25W heat). So a high-efficiency PSU helps if you're running it at load constantly, or if you're trying to make a quieter computer, but it doesn't affect the rest of the system in the slightest.

If anything the most she'd want to play would be Portal!
Anyone know of any good low-power and small form factor embedded systems that I can install x86 shit on? It only needs a single core processor of around 1ghz and 1gb of RAM, though if it could be a tad more powerful that would be a plus. Outside the obvious J1800 embedded systems, I'm wondering if there are alternatives to those. [editline]4th February 2015[/editline] Oh I also need to be able to have 2 gigabit NICs on it, don't care if it has to be an expansion card or anything like that.
Hey should I still get a gtx 970? Is there an alternative? I feel shitty about supporting Nvidia but I'm trying to get a new card Will games actually run like shit in 3 years once they're trying to use all the VRAM?
what SFTP client should i use for OS X?

The GTX 970 is still a very viable, very powerful card for its price, the benchmarks speak for themselves. If you were going for 1440p or 4K, most people would recommend the GTX 980 even if they didn't know about the VRAM fiasco.

Two 970's in SLI, or a single 980? The controversy for the whole 3.5GB has been making me want to get a single 980 at this moment and do SLI with them later. I will be heading out tomorrow morning to buy it (them) so I hope I have an answer when I wake up. :)
Recently I had my laptop's keyboard replaced after accidentally damaging it. But it turns out that in the new one, instead of a long left Shift button, there's this thing: Is it possible to make that |\ key on the right behave like the left Shift, or turn it off at the very least?

Easy way is download a program to edit the registry to change it into a shift key, hard way is to manually yourself edit the registry. After doing a search; a program called SharpKeys would be what you are looking for, or follow the tutorial below.
Why the hell does that key exist anyway, there's another one exactly like it next to Enter, why not just have a long Shift? And if you manage to find a keyboard with the long Shift, you get a shitty tiny little Enter key and a massive backslash above it, why
After doing a search; a program called SharpKeys would be what you are looking for, or follow the tutorial below.
This solved the problem. Now I have to figure out what to do with the Enter key, which is also different than before (used to be wide with a backslash above it, now it's narrow with a backslash on the left). For now, I'll try some more remapping. Anyway, thanks to everyone who made an attempt to help!
Does some other user account have a recycle bin they haven't emptied in the past ever? This is weird as hell Gonna re-post this just in case:
WinDirStat tells me I have files worth 45 Gigs on my C drive, while it's almost goddamn full for no reason. My PSU is a piece of shit so I need a video card that only takes power from the PCI-E slot. Is this any good, or are there better cards for the price? Currently using a Radeon HD 6670.

It's a solid card.
750 TI currently, Why not spend $50 on a half decent PSU and then save up the rest to get a much better upgrade?
I'm only able to afford this because my tax return is coming in soon. I don't have much money left over from paycheck to paycheck to even save for a big upgrade. As long as I can run most games on 1080i/medium settings, I'm happy, but my 6670 can't do it.
