Anyone who does Macs
Are B&W PowerMac G3s rare or
is it normal that Windows allows you to eject your internal drives as if they were USB devices?

it has been this way for a long time now, but I can recall that I didn't have this option some time ago. I'm scared my hands will betray me one day and eject one of them
I think that only happens if you set that SATA port as hotswappable in the BIOS
Right, so I called my ISP.
Went though 50 steps of bullshit like restart your computer please, restart your modem etc...
Then they tried pulling some bullshit on me saying "CAT5E supports maximum of 150 Mbps, so you need to buy CAT6 etc.."
I just shut them up and requested technician to be sent to my house.
If it turns out to be my fault - it's 40 euro call out fee, otherwise it's free.
I tested more cables, got 1 metre CAT5'e and they all max out at solid 130Mbps.
That's definetely ISP fault yes?
I mean what are the fucking odds that 5 1 metre cables are all shit and max out at same 130 Mbps?
Oh and fuck me the 50 metre cable I got is crap.
Literally 50Mbps speed drop over 50 meters.
Also is this good enough? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-20m-CAT6a-Professional-Shielded/dp/B00FSAOMFG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1446140650&sr=8-2&keywords=shielded+CAT6
I only need ~15 meters apparently, I kind of overestimated my distance last time and ordered 50 meters.

Something definitely seems wrong. You should absolutely be able to get GbE over CAT5, definitely over just 5m. Even 50m shouldn't be a problem.
Are you mixing up MB/s and Mb/s maybe? Megabyte versus megabit? 1Gbps is 125GBps so that actually fits with the numbers you're giving us.
If you have two computers with GbE ports, try running the cable straight between them. If the problem is the ISP's equipment, you should see full speeds there.

I mean these units:

Using 1 metre CAT5e on my work laptop I got 130 Units.
Using all other 5 CAT5e cables on same laptop, got 130 Units.
Using my current 50 metre cable on my PC, keep getting that.
Internet speed should be 240 Units.
If I connect PC to laptop via Ethernet cable, how would I test speed?

Oh, so it's your internet speed that's slow. That complicates things.
What makes you think the problem has anything to do with the cable? It seems pretty likely that the bottleneck is elsewhere - either your computer, the modem, or something in the ISP.

Well yes internet is slow, sorry for not specifying that.
I am not sure, I just think it's cable as ISP keeps telling me same story every time - "We've just ran tests from our system to your modem directly, we are getting steady 253 Mb speed, should be no problem, it must be your cables".
My work laptop is: http://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-thinkpad-w520/specs/
Supports Gigabit internet.
My motherboard is: Gigabyte Z97P-D3 which also supports Gigabit internet.
My modem is highest issue from ISP which they claim supports Gigabit too.
Hence we return to my original problem: Is my cable bad or is ISP bullshitting me.
I've pretty much reached the limit of my troubleshooting ability, then. They're bullshitting you about the CAT6 being necessary, but I can't even begin to say what the actual problem is.

Okay thank you.
I am 100% sure it's their fucking fault.

Can somebody link me good CAT5E or CAT6 cable 20 meters from Amazon.co.uk ?
I have feeling I always pick shitty quality.
What the hell is up with chrome on my pc?

Does this on every page whenever I'm scrolling down. It's always artifacts from that page.
I haven't built my system from the ground up before sooo

I circled the headers I could find, not sure if I found all of them. I'm not sure if CPU_OPT is a fan header since it says OPT and not FAN, but it looks like one. if you can find any more which looks identical to the ones I circled and is labelled something like SYS_FAN or CPU_FAN, then you can use those. if you don't have enough to power all of your fans (which is the case if I found all of them), you're gonna have to invest in a fan controller I believe. Corsair Commander Mini is an example of a fan controller, though it also has some other things which might be unnecessary and might add to the price.

It is probably the optional CPU fan header ;)
Want to buy an inexpensive graphics card; my current one is starting to die.
Preferably < £175, currently have an AMD Radeon HD7870
I am buying a laptop cooling pad, this one specifically.
Can the laptop's internal fan be damaged if I were to place another fan directly below it?
I'm looking for a new chair and was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions. The past two chairs I've had have both ended up heavily worn and broken in some way after a few years of use. So now I'm looking for a new chair and I am hoping to avoid buying another chair which suffers from the same issues as my previous chairs, the problem is though I don't really know what exactly to look for. Admittedly my previous chairs were nothing fancy (<$200) so it isn't all that surprising that they didn't last that long, though I'd still like to avoid spending a huge amount of money if possible.
In my research I came across chairs from DXRacer and AKRacing and while they're a bit more expensive than I'd like they do seem like they're of decent quality. Unfortunately I can only view their products online and not actually try them out for myself. Does anyone have any experience with either brand? Is it a case where the chairs are actually decent or are you just paying for the brand name and the "gaming" gimmick?
So after all of Kiwi's help, my GTX 970 finally came in, and I love it!
So I'm trying to set up an HDTV as a third monitor, and for some reason it stays black. The TV shows up in the NVIDIA control panel, properly named and everything, but the TV either stays black or says no signal or mode not supported. I've tried fixing it all day, and I know it works because I have my new PS4 hooked up to it, and that works, and it's not the HDMI cable going to the PC, because I just bought it, and it works with my girlfriend's laptop.
I've tried googling a lot of solutions, but nothing has worked so far. When I hooked up my second monitor after the TV, all three displays worked properly, and then as soon as I left the room the TV went blank again. Any ideas? It's getting frustrating.
My past issue with that problem was that my PC didn't properly detect the refresh rate. Look up the max refresh rate for your TV and make sure that, in the resolution options, that's the refresh rate your system is detecting or trying to send.
Maybe someone who knows a lot about how CPU/GPU works:
How come when doing video rendering and trying to use browser, pages take half a minute to load?
Even when using CUDA for video rendering, CPU should be 100%-ish free and use that power to display pages no?
CPU: 4690k, GPU: gtx 970.

Alright, I'll check into that. And this would be in the nvidia control panel, correct? I've noticed that usually it only let's me choose between 29 or 30 hz, but then once it was at 60, although it still didn't work.

Exporting video from editing software is a somewhat complex process and not all of it is GPU-accelerated.

Hmm, messing with the refresh rate in the nvidia control panel didn't do anything.
On a day of 30c is hitting almost 63c at load playing BF4 on ultra with a 4790k and a H100I GTX normal
Radiator is front mounter on a DS 200 case

gpu does the page rendering though, If I run a cuda kernel with a x seconds runtime then the ui will become essentially unresponsive until it finishes.
Anyone use Dropbox for cloud storage? I had 48 gigs of storage when I bought my note, its about to run out. Now I'd like to buy 100 gb storage for the next year but I only see the choice to buy 1tb of storage for a year? No way am I paying $100 for storage I'll never end up filling.

Any more thoughts on this? I haven't been able to fix it, and I got disconnected from the first NVIDIA live chat help person, who was awesome. I'm in a chat with someone now that doesn't know anything about the issue and is taking forever
using anything analog? like vga?
I only have two other monitors hooked up, one directly to the DVI port, and another monitor that is using a DVI cable, but is plugged into a converter which is plugged into a DisplayPort port. Then the TV is plugged directly into the HDMI slot on the card
Has anyone had experience with Windows RDP event log error id 4625 - I keep getting attempted RDP brute forced (on an account that doesn't exist but id still rather it be blocked) but the XML never lists the source IP address so all the scripts I have in place don't work, at the minute I'm having to rummage through windows firewall logs to manually block attacks
(It does list the IP of my attempted connections so im guessing they use a different protocol for the brute force or something)

Can you not just use an access list on your firewall/router to only allow RDP traffic from your known IP's?
