How can I get a good job in a tech field? Is college still the way to go?
Trying to find out why my Windows 7 over the past year keeps getting more and more blue screens of death because it's holding me back from playing anything, every time it crashes no new crash dump files are sent to c:\windows\minidump. Oldest crash dump file I have is over a year old from around the time the BSOD issue started to get really bad. I have my Startup and Recovery options all set for a kernel memory dump to drop to %SystemRoot%Memory.DMP or whatever it was, tried setting it to the c:\ directory and it still didn't work so I set it back. While I'm posting this I also get 4 steady beeps, pause, and repeat when it crashes sometimes. I looked it up and I'm thinking it's a system memory problem?
Do a fresh install? Could be a hardware issue though. Could try running memtest86 to test your ram.
Out of nowhere my desktop just became really slow. It's slow when it starts up (especially on the 'starting windows' screen, it stays there for an hour), and it's still incredibly slow when I can finally log in. The taskbar for some reason shifted to a windows xp theme. I'm using windows 7 btw. I tried updating my drivers, ran a scan for viruses, and neither worked. Any ideas?
Guys, I think I have an issue that popped-up around the same time I installed Windows 10. Basically, my microphone kind of arbitrarily won't be detected by certain programs. Pretty much every single game I've played now don't pick up my mic at all. This includes Steam chat as well. Also, browsers won't pick it up either. What is REALLY weird though is that all VoIP programs work perfectly fine. Now, I always check to see if the mic is set to be the default communication device and it didn't fix anything. According to some stuff I read, it's the individual programs that select the "wrong" input but I wouldn't know how to fix that.
Jesus Christ. Disregard everything, it started working again and I can't figure exactly why. Whatever, I'll take it.
Well, I manually dropped the voltage on my 6700k to ~1.25 and now after 10 mins of prime95 the temps are like 50 which is much better. Anyone know how adaptive voltage works on MSI motherboards?
So have have multiple external drives on me, yet for some reason my USB to SATA cables don't all work for each drive. One cable works on two disks, and the other two cables only work on on disk each. Any reason for this that can fixed? I don't want to lug around multiple cables if I could ideally use only one.
Is buydomains.com a legit source, I've done some research and I'm finding complete opposite reactions, anyone with personal or 2nd hand experience know these guys?

About to reinstall windows onto a SSD for the first time and was wondering how others here organize their second or all other harddrives. Never really used much of my other harddrives as I tend to just use them for back up of older files from previous installs I haven't had a need to go through yet.
If I save a PNG as a JPEG, will there be a loss of quality? I remember reading somewhere that the file size will be reduced while maintaining the same quality.
If I save a PNG as a JPEG, will there be a loss of quality? I remember reading somewhere that the file size will be reduced while maintaining the same quality.
There will absolutely be a loss in quality, whether its noticable or not is subjective.
My linux PC and a Win8.1 PC can't adress each other in the same LAN My laptop however can adress both. What gives? EDIT: Everything is configured automatically on DHCP
Uh, so when building my new PC I disassembled my old pc, but I just realized I never disabled the CPU overclocking. It's all in parts now so I can't just turn it on and do it, how do I reset it without having to turn it on? I'm asking because I was planning to sell the mobo and cpu together and don't want to surprise the guy. Will just taking out the battery for a while and then putting it back in definitely reset it? It's a MSI Z77A-G45.
I need to wipe my pendrive to reinstall the system in my parents' laptop, though one partition of it is getting showed as a CD drive by the system, and every program that wipes drives. Any way I can work around that?

I have a phone question. I'm with Metro PCS currently and have a Samsung Galaxy Avant, and I have a chance to get a iPhone 5C free from a family member. Would it be worth while to switch over to the iPhone 5C or just keep my Galaxy Avant? Thanks
I have a phone and pc question. There's a whole bunch of emotes that I can't see, and it seems to be roughly half of iOS emotes or so. It's bizarre, and it's the same emotes on both my android and my pc. http://getemoji.com/ For example, the first two emojis here show up as boxes with random letters and numbers in them, but the third one is visible. Roughly a third are invisible. Do I need to update any software or anything? Googling hasn't helped me. The emojis are missing in facebook, text messages... Anything really.
My laptop gave the blue screen of death. Can it be saved and can I do it myself?
My laptop gave the blue screen of death. Can it be saved and can I do it myself?
Do you know what caused it?
My laptop gave the blue screen of death. Can it be saved and can I do it myself?
Probably and yes. What was the stop code? It will show up as something like 0x0000001A (or 0x1A for short) You can use bluescreenview to parse the BSOD dumps for the codes, 'parameters' and offending drivers (highlighted in red). Parameters are typically not useful, sometimes they are for more obscure issues. If you can't boot use safemode w/ networking

Can't say which one it is but it's there [editline]9th November 2015[/editline] Ahh, this one https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/2729094
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know of any decent Firefox addons for Youtube? YT Center recently stopped working and the last update was months ago so I'm gonna assume is dead, and the only other I know of, Youtube+ is lacking most features YT Center had

Someone actually put out their own updated recently https://github.com/89227561009/YouTubeCenter/commit/287b5898f23b331a752fed0aba9083db6a1e83cb ant and javasdk would be needed to build it
MAGIC ACTIONS
Thanks, that had exactly what I was looking for (stop autoplay+start buffering) !
Doesn't that rely on Java or something?
This works fine for me.
I know about that, it's what I've been using up until now, but it doesn't work anymore. I think it's because I'm on Firefox 44.0a2 and not... whatever the regular edition is at. Magic Actions works fine though

what is the best guide on how to flash a radeon 7970 BIOS onto a 7950?
