Temporary files. Windows Search index database. Hibernate files. Page files. Shadow Copy/System Restore. Could be any one of them or a mixture or all of them.
It was the System Restore points. Thank you kindly, now my PC runs like a dream again.
Why is there only a €50,- difference? [t]https://i.imgur.com/DVb4UoL.png[/t] From the Lenovo website.
Why the hell does that key exist anyway, there's another one exactly like it next to Enter, why not just have a long Shift? And if you manage to find a keyboard with the long Shift, you get a shitty tiny little Enter key and a massive backslash above it, why
Blame the multilingual countries, because that's why it exists. Canada is the worst for those computers having to harbor Quebec.
I'm only able to afford this because my tax return is coming in soon. I don't have much money left over from paycheck to paycheck to even save for a big upgrade. As long as I can run most games on 1080i/medium settings, I'm happy, but my 6670 can't do it.
Just make sure you get that exact model, as there is a very similar one WITH a 6-pin power. [editline]5th February 2015[/editline]
Why is there only a €50,- difference? [t]https://i.imgur.com/DVb4UoL.png[/t] From the Lenovo website.
That's pretty damn surprising that they're only charging 50 more for an 840m and a SSHD with double the capacity of the HDD.
I have two quick questions: 1) Is a 80+ gold worth the extra money? 2) From a gaming and light audio recording/engineering standpoint, would the Intel Core i5 4590 (non K version) be optimal, or should I go with the 4690 which is a little extra?
[t]http://kittehcat.org/upl/20150205185021186.png[/t] Why is Lumin showing up there? It's not installed or anything

Is there a way for me to know if my laptop's fan is working short of opening the thing up? I tried installing speedfan but nothing shows up. I ask because even when the CPU is at 95 degrees I can never feel air being spat out the back.

Speedfan doesn't always get the sensors correct and usually one of those two will get it if speedfan doesn't. Good luck though, some laptops have fans that are a real bitch to get at.
Have you tried disabling all addons in chrome?
Yeah [t]http://kittehcat.org/upl/20150205195935475.png[/t] Still there
It's probably in programs and features > a shitty hijack browser.
There doesn't seem to be anything within the time since it started [editline]aaaa[/editline] Ehm, if I copy the picture location it gives me this link https://www.google.dk/images/srpr/logo11w.png
hmmm then just reset chrome entirely to its original state honestly as half assed as it sounds [editline]6th February 2015[/editline] sounds like someone did a bad job at whatever or its a bad bug, googling the issue seems to bring no issues of any kind except for a pdf reader
That did the job, but I'm still curious at what did it
Gotta get a new laptop. PC, anything under 500 dollars. Whatever works best. I'll mostly be using it for drawing/art, games, and other recreational jazz. I know 500 ain't gonna get me some great laptop with super megacore graphics and an fps smoother than life itself, but if it can at least run things well enough, then that's good enough for me. I've been accommodated with my Asus for the past couple of years. Is Asus good? Any suggestions? I'm not good with this sorta jive. Explanations are welcome too.
Tomorrow I am picking up the EVGA 750Ti for my desktop, to prepare myself for installing a graphics card for the first time, I decided to look up a how-to guide, a couple actually, and they all conflict with each other! I have no idea which steps are correct or not. Putting the thing into the desktop isn't the problem, but the before and after. What do I need to do to my computer before opening it up? And what do I do afterwards?
I'm was going to make a thread but I'll try here first. I posted about this problem a while ago and people assumed it was my graphics card. Whilst playing games like CS:GO and Skyrim my screen would go black and my game would stutter. I removed my graphics card and sent it back for a repair, but the problem persisted. What could it be and what do I need to do?

But it also all depends on the quality of the PSU. 2) You should be fine with the 4590

Just make sure it's seated correctly. I also know nothing about computers, but it's just as easy as installing new RAM. I've only replaced a graphics card once, though.
What's a way to stream audio from a PC? Trying to use a phone or laptop as a wireless headset for a desktop. A quick search made it seem like RTP would be a way to do so, but it seems like that would be a program-by-program basis.
Good luck though, some laptops have fans that are a real bitch to get at.
Depends on some models. My old Acer laptop just required you to only open up the back panel. HP Pavilions though are a chore to get to the fan and heatsink since you usually need to disassemble nearly everything (bar from removing the screen at times). For some reason nearly all laptops I've had to clean out for customers also happen to be Pavilions. Edit: I misread your post.

Both my Gateway and my Asus laptops have a panel or two that lets you remove everything short of the motherboard itself.

If you're looking to buy and assemble a PC, this will certainly give you the performance you say you're looking for, but it ain't gonna perform many miracles: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($99.98 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock H97M Anniversary Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($68.98 @ OutletPC) Memory: *Mushkin Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($59.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($39.99 @ Best Buy) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Superclocked Video Card ($129.99 @ Micro Center) Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case ($36.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.95 @ OutletPC) Optical Drive: LG GH24NSC0B DVD/CD Writer ($12.99 @ SuperBiiz) Total: $488.86 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available *Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-02-06 10:07 EST-0500 Obviously you'll have to shell out an extra $100 if you need a fresh copy of Windows, but if you have one you know you can re-use or if you're going to use a Linux distro, you'll be fine. If you're taking the laptop route, however, it's not terribly difficult to go wrong as long as you stick to certain manufacturers like Lenovo, MSI, Acer, and as you mentioned, ASUS.
I've been very very unfortunate. All of the laptops I've pulled apart have been HP. They all suffered the same flaw. Too many fucking screws and panels to move.
The HP elitebooks we use are super easy to service, it's their consumer shit that's a nightmare
The HP elitebooks we use are super easy to service, it's their consumer shit that's a nightmare
Modern latitudes still hands down easiest.
I've been receiving kernel intrusion alerts on my home router all day, source IPs point to all over China (Nanchang/Hefei etc.). Should I be worried? It's probably normal port scanning done by botnets, but it's been going on all day and I'm still logging new entries.
What build is better? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Cbh4GX or http://pcpartpicker.com/p/j86DTW
I know there is a lot of opinions about this, but what should I get? I will be building a brand new gaming PC. I will only be on 1 single monitor running at 1080p. I am unsure whether or not to get the 970 Twin Frozr or the 290x Lightning. Difficult choice... I am leaning more toward getting a 970 and getting a cheaper PSU because I don't need extra wattage. Help me decide :pwn:
i'm still looking for laptop alternatives and I have another question: What's the difference between the Asus F552LDV and the Asus X552LDV? The F has 4GB of RAM while the X has 6GB. I think I want to go with the F and buy 4GB extra RAM but I'm not entirely sure yet. And is it possible to upgrade the RAM easily on those models without voiding warranty?

I have a home wifi network set up, with my modem that doubles as a router providing coverage in the basement, and a supplementary router serving as an extender upstairs that's connected via long ass ethernet cable providing coverage upstairs. However, when upstairs, our mobile devices can connect to the wifi network, but our internet access is limited/non-existent. Trying to load facebook, youtube etc while connected to the supplementary router is only possible for like 5 minutes after connecting, then we have to continually turn off wifi on our devices then turn it back on to get connected, but it doesn't last. Any tips?
