Is it normal on a night of 24c with a Hyper 212EVO for my CPU to hit a maximum of 90 and average 75 while playing battlefield 4 on ultra
That's pretty high. What CPU? You might need to reapply the paste or reseat the heatsink.
If you're concerned about the health of your CPU because of the heat, honestly don't worry about it. Thermal throttling keeps it well within operating limits.
What's your guys' recommendations for AV software these days? I've been researching and there's a lot of contradictory stuff, which is making things kinda difficult.
whats a good FFB wheel for around £100? you used to be able to get the DFGT for about £75 but they dont make it any more, its for pcars and maybe iracing

Take your pick.

If his processor is getting around 90+, either that is greatly reducing the lifespan of it or is about to burn it out entirely. Definitely worry about it, as throttling is not going to 100% reliably prevent damage. Go get some 90% or greater rubbing alcohol, some Q-tips, coffee filters, and a tube of Arctic MX-4 and replace the paste. $15 for new paste is far cheaper than hundreds for a new CPU.

I went with 360 Total Security, supplemented with Comodo Firewall. Good choice or?

90C is not going to burn out a modern CPU. I will clarify, however, that there may be some influence on product lifespan but we're talking about over the course of a decade. You are not going to see a CPU have its lifespan reduced to something drastic like 2 years. That's why there are two safeguards in place: thermal throttling and thermal shutoff.
So yeah, throttling is going to reliably prevent damage within reason. It makes no sense to trust the manufacturer's specification in one category but not the other. If they say the CPU can take it, it can take it.

I honestly just use the Windows firewall as I find Comodo excessive and a bit of a nag. I am also trying out 360 right now actually since Avira still has those random toolbar popups and I can't seem to disable.
Does anyone know why a computer won't boot to the OS and also won't let me get into the BIOS? My computer hangs at the splash screen when I boot it up and when I hit F2 to get into the BIOS it just goes to a blank screen.

any idea how to fix this? I feel like I've tried everything and nothing has worked so far. I'm just not able to update my install no matter what. I've even tried a fresh install with no luck

hangs at the splash screen as in it does not load bios, or does it at least load bios and but not boot into the OS?
So my family has a cabin in a rural area and I am wondering how I can get phone lines run out there with the possibility of broadband internet. Should I just start calling up ISPs in the area or does anyone know of any other steps I can take?

if you're literally the only cabin there they probably aren't gonna bother
cost of running cables for a single house is not even close to being offset by the payment you'd be giving them for their services

Not the only cabin, 4 or 5 people on my street and quite a few more surrounding that.

Good luck. Gather the support of as many of those people as you can, and have them all call an ISP on the same day.

Check if you have any wireless ISPs in the area. it's not guaranteed but if there are any that are a mix of wimax LTE or satellite at least there is something.
My HDD's piss me off, my PC is right to my desk and it's touching it. When drives spin or work it feels like printer on desk - there is there vibrations on desk like: ......................Vibration.Vibration...................Vibration.Vibration..............
it's a small thing yet very fucking annoying.
Any way to supress this effect? Those hard drives shouldn't even be awake, right now I am using only software installed on SSD yet others still do processing.
Is there perhaps any kind of hardware/parts I can buy to make HDD's vibration supressed?

Put it on a gel mouse pad it'll definitely make less vibrations than it right against the desk
So out of nowhere my PC could not boot to windows or repair itself. I don't know how this could happen without warning as I would defrag and analyze my disks frequently and they would always report back that they were healthy. I could not access the drive from Ubuntu either, so I put the drive in my brother's PC and was able to retrieve my most important files thankfully. Now I have it scanning for file system errors and bad sectors. Is my drive pretty much kaputt? Even if I could reformat and reinstall Windows is the drive likely to fail again and degrade further? It's only a 3 year-old WD Blue 1TB. :c

fyi the drive is because of hibernate
you have to mount like this "sudo ntfs-3g -o remove_hiberfile /dev/sdXN /path/to/mount"
replace sdXN with drive obviously

Yeah I have no idea how to use Linux, I just downloaded an ISO and booted it through USB to see if my stuff was still there v:v:v Thank you, though.
After running chkdsk on my brother's computer and putting it back in my case, I was able to actually run Startup Repair (which I couldn't do before). However, after about 15 minutes a box popped up and told me that the repair could not finish. After rebooting I can now log in to Windows. Is it safe to reformat and continue using the HDD, or is that asking for it to fail again?

I would love one.

Got 1 and 2, but no 3. And it should be looking pretty on my rebuild at the end of the month.
It's gone now.

Does not load BIOS

What is Virtualization?
I am developing android apps and installed something called Genymotion (I have AMD so I can't intsall Intel's HAXM).
It said number of cpu's has been limited to 1 because virtualization technology is turned off (or something along those lines).
Does my CPU have it? FX 8350
Every time I unplug my PC from the power supply (when turned off of course), and then plug it in to boot, before POST, I would be warned about the CPU fan, as it's RPM is in the red zone.
It's generally fixed by pressing F1 and booting into my HDD from Asus' boot
This started a month ago after the power died for unscheduled maintenance
Need some serious help.
Rebooted PC, wouldn't turn on so power cycled it.
It worked but now my desktop has a black background, my taskbar is empty, my metro screen is empty and says I have no apps (Doing a search can't even find Control Panel).
However all my harddrives are there and have everything on them and they seem to work? Just treating me like I just did a clean install? Like dropbox popped up and said thanks for linking this computer with them and all.
Any ideas how I can fix this and get my shit back
EDIT
Ugh like what the fuck my Plex media server has to be reinitialized and everything?
Does not load BIOS
what's the motherboard and bios it uses? sadly it's not clear what the issue is so as a general run down: does it get through POST? Try inspecting the motherboard to see if there's any damage to the capacitors, check to make sure the ram is properly mounted, also if it doesn't go through POST try and remove the ram if it doesn't do anything about it such as the beep code for no ram... I got bad news.

Also I got to do a clean install on my since my windows 7 since the updater had some errors that screwed with the registry and drivers so bad even the recovery discs couldn't help it. Taking a system image and restoring wont help me since I don't have any from before. Is there any other back up/restore methods than the whole manually dragging the folders?
I'm considering buying a Lenovo y50-70, but I don't know weather or not to get one with the GeForce GTX 860M 4GB, or the GeForce GTX 960M 2GB. There's a 700,- difference in the price. (860 lowest, and 960 highest.)
Which one would be the better purchase?
