Give us a budget and we'll give you a build!
Money is not really a issue on my end if that's what you're asking. I can spend as much I want to for a new computer. I think any build with a powerful graphics card should do it. I heard about Nvidia and others but I just want to be sure which is the best option. Also do monitors really effect the whole Frames per second that much? I've been using a laptop since 2012 so I never really bothered with that.
I'm currently having trouble with port forwarding. Looking at it here, it seems fine. But using canyouseeme.org, it can't see the port for Reason: Connection Timed Out as well as people not being able to join my server. Any ideas?

I'd recommend disabling your firewall completely while testing so you know if it's the firewall or port forwarding gone wrong.

Alright, I'll see how it goes. Cheers. [editline]9th May 2015[/editline] Whelp, unless it also constituted a browser/PC restart then that unfortunately hasn't worked. Still getting connection timed out.
What program do you guys use for capturing game footage and audio with friends? Ive been using Shawdowplay which i think is great but for some reason the audio is quiet for me. My friends audio is fine but im quiet. So what others are there that are good?

How do I fix this "application failed to start (0xc000007b)" shit? I just reinstalled windows, reinstalled directX, Net framework and visual C++ as well as my GPU drivers. Apparently it's something to do with xinput1_3.dll, but I've tried copying it from other sources to the game folder - it's Dying Light I'm trying to start specifically but it happened with another game too. I'm now spamming all the earlier versions of VC and .net at my computer [editline]10th May 2015[/editline] Never mind, fixed it. As much as I fucking hate doing it I slapped in some .dlls from the interweb into my system32/syswow folders and it works. This game better be worth the boatload of viruses I've no doubt got.
I can't really check on my phone but I can buy this for $80: http://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-L246WHX-BN-widescreen-monitor Is it a good monitor? Is it better then my current monitor: http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&sku=320-2676 I'd use them side by side.
Hmm, I'm thinking of getting Windows 8 Pro. Anyway know where I can get a legit geniune key or a digital download? The MS Store only has 8.1.
Hmm, I'm thinking of getting Windows 8 Pro. Anyway know where I can get a legit geniune key or a digital download? The MS Store only has 8.1.
why not just 8.1? serious question, 8 effectively doesn't exist anymore
Well, 8.1 is 200 bucks (unless I'm looking at wrong one).
Just to be sure, the right way to figure out if an unknown drive is HDD or SSD is to grab its model number from Device Manager or whatever and Google it to see if it mentions shit like RPMs, right?
Just to be sure, the right way to figure out if an unknown drive is HDD or SSD is to grab its model number from Device Manager or whatever and Google it to see if it mentions shit like RPMs, right?
won't you be able to figure out what it is with the model number anyway?
Well, 8.1 is 200 bucks (unless I'm looking at wrong one).
Its a $175 on Amazon for full retail. But 8 is depreciated. 8 is 8.1, since it was a free upgrade. You wouldn't save anything. Think if you really need Windows 8.1 Pro though. Most of its added features are for enterprise (hence "Pro"). Most end users are probably fine with 8.1 Standard.
won't you be able to figure out what it is with the model number anyway?
uh, how? I don't exactly have a database of these things in my head, and model numbers tend to look like MD5 hashes when I look them up in Device Manager.
uh, how? I don't exactly have a database of these things in my head, and model numbers tend to look like MD5 hashes when I look them up in Device Manager.
I'd assume googling the model number would lead you to the product
Well, 8.1 is 200 bucks (unless I'm looking at wrong one).
I always just grab OEM copies for less than $100. [editline]10th May 2015[/editline] Oops, you need Pro
Well, I just really want the ability to use IME and install East Asian language files.
Alright, fair enough. http://www.amazon.com/Windows-8-1-System-Builder-64-Bit/dp/B00F3ZN0CC Oh hey here's the OEM version for $135. Only big difference is that OEM is tied to your hardware. If you have to move to a different motherboard, a call to Microsoft usually clears up the activation process. Looks like that will be your best bet.
Hey, I have lots of subheadings as lists and this is one of them. However - they paragraph (covered in black) is not binded (if that's right word? ) to it. On other headings I can click small arrow beside them to expand/collapse. This one treats text below as just completely seperate item. How can I fix this in MS word 2013? P.S - I asked this also on Stackoverflow, assumed if there is ms-word tag then it's appropriate, got booted from there (not banned, just got shower of hate).
I'd assume googling the model number would lead you to the product
...that's what i said i was already doing
I need some help. I was using my PC just fine when suddenly, my LCD monitor's screen went way dark (it's still showing the computer screen, just, like, twenty times darker) and started making a high pitched noise. Just, out of nowhere. What's going on?

Maybe something got fried after a power surge or something and only finally gave up now.

Some idiot came by on Saturday to install a fan on the ceiling and accidentally fucked up the wiring in my room. It turned on and off several times. Weird it'd only give up now!
