Cheers for the help :) So they're just another place I can view them and post on my Google+ if I decide to?
yup
So my headphones are a 6.3mm jack that came with a 3.5mm adapter to be able to plug into the front port of my computer. But the 3.5mm adapter got bent and now the front speakers of the headphones don't work and I have to spin the jack in my pc till I can hear the headphones. I went to purchase an adapter but now i'm seeing there's a difference between male and female adapters and I want to be sure I buy the right one. It doesn't specify on the box, nor on the jack itself which they are. Also anyone have a good place to buy little pieces like this for cheap? Walmart is $5 and I seen some places going for like 2 dollars but still don't know if I should buy M/F.
Male refers to the plug, female to the socket. You want female 6.3mm to male 3.5mm.
So the GTX 980 Ti was released in the wee hours of the morning. How long until we start seeing price drops on the 970 and the 980?
So the GTX 980 Ti was released in the wee hours of the morning. How long until we start seeing price drops on the 970 and the 980?
980 price already dropped by 50 with Ti announcement.
You mean like this? Because they're all over the place. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] (Thunderbolt is mini displayport for video connectivity)
Um no, I have to connect the outgoing thunderbolt cable from the display to my gpu, so I need a female mini displayport to male hdmi/dvi/ dp adapter but I can only find things that convert it the other way. Also curious whether there's any difference in whether I use hdmi or displayport or dvi if I'm converting mini displayport?
980 price already dropped by 50 with Ti announcement.
The 970 prices seem to be the same. Are they going to drop soon too?
The 970 prices seem to be the same. Are they going to drop soon too?
I don't see it happening at all. They're already at a really good point, the 980 is what needed dropping.
The 970 prices seem to be the same. Are they going to drop soon too?
Hopefully whatever AMD will announce in two or so weeks will force Nvidia adjust their prices, but it feels unlikely.
Tech people who know a history about PC components: Is it true that IBM has invented magnetic hard drives as we know and use them today? Same goes for DRAM, were IBM first ones to invent DRAM which we still use today?

Yeah things like that are often joint ventures, but it's not uncommon for one company in the venture to be seen as the inventor and first adopter. See: All of Apple's shit.
I need a new adblocker that isn't ABP. uBlock's new permission requirements are pretty sketchy.

Also learned about Blue Gene, Deep Blue, Roadrunner. In case they say - what else do you know about IBM, I will go full desperate and start mentioning DRAM and HDD. On a side note - what else is there "big" by IBM that they are really proud of?

Don't focus on the stuff inside their products, focus on their actual products (unless you'll be in a research division doing that sort of thing). Focus on stuff like the 1400 series, S/360, the PC, stuff like that. Maybe mention how they built the computers in the Saturn V.
But why would they expect me to know about their business side/selling side if I am going for interview in their technical/software campus?
I didn't say to focus on boring business shit like Lotus Notes, I just said not to focus on the fundamental-research stuff unless that's what you'll be doing. So, if you'll be designing servers or software, talk about those - S/360 and whatnot.

I've been thinking about selling my monitor (Asus VG278HE) and I have no idea how to go about doing it. I know that I'd need to make an eBay listing or something like that, but how would I go about shipping it? Also I'd like to know what I could get for it. I'm looking in the $280-$300 range, which i wanna put towards getting a QNIX and overclocking it.

The Qnix monitors are down to around $220 now though so you should be fine.

I can afford to drop a little cash on it, i just want to clear out space and get a little money back.

Aside from Samsung, which SSD manufacturers are very reliable and always make quality products? There are so many cheaper options for 128GB SSDs than Samsung but I don't know how much better or worse they are.

Will a newer USB keyboard work in an old school keyboard plug with one of those adapters? My cousin dropped off his comp for me to move all of his files to an external harddrive and his keyboard doesn't work. I went looking for my old keyboard, and turns out my mom threw away my old keyboard and mouse.

A lot of newer ones don't, though older keyboards (especially if it had a PS/2 variant) will be more likely to work.
-fffssss-
Will having Open Hardware monitor and EVGA PrecisionX run at the same time conflict at all? PrecisionX is set to automatically control the GPU fan speed BTW
If I order multiple parts from different vendors (let's say three things from Newegg, two things from Amazon, three things from SuperBiiz, etc.), will they still arrive at my house on the same day as long as they were ordered on the same day and were all sent to the same address? [editline]3rd June 2015[/editline] By "the same day", I have an example: Let's say I make these orders on three different websites on a Friday. Will they all get there next Tuesday even though they're all from different sites?
