At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if it's RAM or hdd related.
re-seat ram + hdd data cable (both ends).
optionally run memtest
Does a car interior get hot enough to cause damage to a lithium ion battery that's out of direct sunlight and not currently charging/discharging? (Just in a small charging/carrying case)
What's the name of those little tiny mesh screens they put in earbuds to keep the drivers from getting dirty
because Amazon doesn't list them under "earbud screens"

I had one of those chinese portable battery ones with a solar panel for trickle charging.
It blew up, but the case of the battery and the solar panel took all the damage (thankfully).
Mine was in direct sunlight, but I guess there's a reason they also warn you about leaving spray cans in your car unattended too.
The coolest spot would probably be under the front seats or in the glovebox.

How would I do a memory test?
Also, how can I tidy this place up and increase airflow?

I think my CPU isn't getting cooled as much as before because my GPU is blocking the airflow

What case is that?
I have exactly same case except my clips have X's on them instead of flathead shape + I have holes in case for wiring + big fan on the Case grid left of your CPU.
It seems our cases are same nearly with small differences.
Tbh I hate that case, everything is so crammed inside of it, if I was you I would get new case, I am getting new case soon once I sign contract with a job tomorrow.
I had CPU temp problems too, I ended up getting h100i but even then I had to improvise because of crammed case and have fans on top of the case.
And is that M5A97 R2.0?
Mine before h100i:

After:

It looks more messy but at this point at least I don't have CPU fan to have cables stuck in it.

Also guys, those who know Lenovo laptops well.
Which of them come stock with following spec:
i7 CPU @ 2.7 GHz,
16 GB Ram,
Windows 7 Pro
No more specs available, just hoping someone can give me rough idea what model that could be.
Has anyone ever heard of the "UMi Iron" and is it any good?
Not sure if this belongs here, but how can I render videos better with Sony Vegas? It always turns out way too dark in the render and even darker once it's on youtube.
[t]http://i.gyazo.com/01b6c2bdd414f08da5eebc9ce167fa08.png[/t]
I've tried messing around in the render settings but I can't find anything that helps. Should I just make the whole thing brighter to compensate?

depends on what you're looking for
if you're looking for shure ones http://www.amazon.com/Shure-EAWXG2-10-Included-QuietSpot-Earphones/dp/B001DX9EE6
otherwise generally i think they come attached to tips
Anyone any experience with VirtualBox problems? I've had this issue since updating from an old version (which did not experience this issue) to 4.3.30. When I create a new virtual machine and launch it from my Windows 7 host, the window starts at the top left in a tiny size (see below) and the window is not selectable.

After some time, this window comes up in the main VirtualBox window and then the whole thing hangs until I have to end it.

I think there's some kind of miscommunication between VirtualBox and the new process being created by the program but I've not found a way to fix this; I've tried running as admin and adding the program as an exception in my anti-virus but no dice.
Just wondering if anybody has come across this issue in the past.
I'm looking into building a RAID system with my computer. I have 5 hot-swap ports built into the side of the case of my PC, and I was told I can take advantage of that to build an internal RAID system, but I'm not sure how that works, and I was wondering what specialized hardware/software I would need to tie the drives together if the internal method is possible?
so my brother and I are going to start making some gaming videos, but we both dont know what to get as to hardware and software.
my brother is thinking of buying the "el gato" capture card does anyone know if this is a good choice for a not so expensive Capture card?
also what would be a good choice in a microphone and editing software?

Have you tried reinstalling? Also do you have Virtualization Extensions enabled in the BIOS/UEFI? I notice the icon isn't on.
I installed Windows 10 and can't point steam to my games. I have my steam games installed on another drive. How do I link them together without having to reinstall them?

Were they installed using Steam's built in alternate library function?

As far as I can tell, the appmanifest_numbers.acf files in Steam\SteamApps are responsible for telling steam which games are installed or need to be updated

I've just checked the UEFI and virtualisation has always been enabled. I've tried reinstalling VirtualBox too but that doesn't seem to have helped. I notice also that when I launch a virtual machine, which had been created from a previous version of VirtualBox, it starts in the reduced size window at the top left but is responsive and runs ok. Oh and it looks like that icon you mentioned is on with the machines which run fine.

Still a mystery to me. Is it perhaps something to do with Windows 7 not being supported on the latest builds or something?
I've been troubleshooting this 2GB/1.3GHz Atom EeePC for the past two days. After a full reinstall, and installing the bare minimum software, Win7 is slow as hell. There's an svchost.exe, running the "netsvcs" service group, constantly eating 500MB of RAM and using up at least 50% of the CPU, making the thing unusable.
I've ruled out rootkits and malware, and disabled automatic updating. No idea what to do next.

this is probably a hella niche question but then again this is fp
i'm interested in getting a third party head unit (Pioneer DEH-X6700BT), and it has siri activation when you press and hold the dial
does anyone know if google now on android recognizes the siri activation command and will trigger?
I am planning on wiping my disk and installing windows 7 Ultimate on it because I would like to upgrade my OS and speed up my computer a bit. I don't want my OS to become slow in loading time as it is now (3 Minutes to desktop 7 minutes until I can use it bearably) so I was wondering, do Windows updates and service packs slow down the computer to a certain degree? They have done so before to my old Windows XP but I am unsure if they still will slow down my computer.

Possibly but you do not want to avoid them. If you have problems that bad with boot time you may want to consider an upgrade in hardware.

Lollipop or newer
I'm going to upgrade my computer with a new mobo and CPU in the next weeks, I'm also getting windows 10 when it gets out. I got a OEM edition of windows and I'm worried I'll need to have to mess with calling Microsoft to reset the key and what not. How should I tackle this the best way?
Should I change the mobo before windows 10? After?
Is it even possible to damage a monitor by overclocking the refresh rate?
People always warn for the risk of damaging the display, but I have never seen anyone with an actually damaged display.

just like any other component you overclock, you're causing it to perform at a higher rate than it was expected to run at, which can cause effects like increase heat generation and generally shorter longevity
How can old movies be in Blu Ray?
I mean when I saw them as kid, they were in shit quality on a shit huge-ass TV.
I don't understand how this works, I mean most old movies were shot to tape/film and not some kind of 8k format digital camera.
Do tapes/films hold captured data like vectors in image editing software? (You can re-size it as much as you want and it doesn't lose quality) ?

Film is analog. There's limits to the detail, but they're physical, dependent on the quality of the film and camera, and on how well it was stored.
Imagine the resolution of a physical painting. It's not infinite, but two digital photographs of that painting can have vastly different resolution.

Film isn't restricted to a "resolution", as gman explained before. when it's converted to a dvd or a blu-ray, the resulting quality is dependent on how well the film was transferred to a digital format. DVDs are made for standard-def TVs, whereas BluRays handle larger resolutions.
